  1. Cafegirl,

I was also told not tho talk to my parents, the two times they were put on propation. What a strange place twi is. I was raised in it as you were and my P's were FC most of the time if not area/branch coordinators. I know how hard it is to talk about. Although, I think it is helpful to do so, to sort things out in our minds and lives.

So, If you are still out there and would like to tell us a little more, I would be intersted as would others and there are some of us if not most of us who really understand where you are coming from.

So, post away and hope you are doing well,

  2. We recently rediscovered drive-ins. We have the new little one, which makes it hard to go places, since he tends to scream and make noice at any given moment.

So we found a drive-in and tried it out. It still is a lot of fun. You get to see two or three movies for 5 or six bucks a person or 10 bucks a car. Now they hae it where you can tune into a radio station to get the sound which works rather well with a decent stereo system.

We have gone about three times so far. It is a great way to go if you have very young children.

  3. yea I heard he was moving to Tucson, but that was around the time I was leaving. I had a couple of other friends down there.

    Pavlov, you still in VA?

    What are you up to?

  4. Hey Wrassle Not

I was at that wedding too. That was me posing as the Best Man and making that jittery toast.

They are still in unfortunately. They are in Houston with no sign of leaving anytime soon. they Just had their first kid, a girl. We too had our first, a boy, about a month before they did.

Wish they would leave. I think he would before she would and I don't think that will happen. icon_frown.gif:(-->

They are good folks though. IMbiasedO Not your average wafers.

  6. hey Chwester,

Can you tell me what "phytochemicals" are?

My mom is taking "juice plus" and they claim to have phytochemicals but do not specify what they are.

I'm guessing "green chemicals"? isn't that more or less what "phyto" means?

  7. I try to get out , but they keep pulling me back in!

I don't have time to read everything written here but, Mike, I did read what you wrote to Oaks.

    VP said:

    quote:
Not all that Wierwille writes will necessarily be God-breathed.

    You said:

    quote:
This means OF NECESSITY, some of what Wierwille writes will be God-breathed.

Now I am sure this has been hashed and rehashed but...

    what NECESSITY would that be?

Well for one if non of VP's words were "God-breathed" he would be just another Joe Shmo. There would be no reason to follow him, he would just be another guy with an opinion. To believe his statement completely I would have to believe that this same statement was also God-breathed. We would if we were going to scrutinize that statement in the same way he taught us to scrutinize the details of the scripture. IMO That means I would believe this just because he said it. Plus VP obviously thought or proprted that God had spoken to him and therefore could not exclude everything that he said as non-God-breath.

Lets suppose that VP lied a couple of times in his life. We would have to, him being a man and all. right? Lets suppose VP fabricated the snow and the gas pumps and such. Then we might be more likely to not believe that God breathed on him, or something.

All this is a lot of believing in a man, IMO. What about the rest of what VP sakd on that page.

    (B) Not all that Wierwille writes will necessarily be God-breathed; not what Calvin said, nor Luther, nor Wesley, nor Graham, nor Roberts; but the Scriptures ? they are God-breathed.

should we look at the rest of these men's writting as you would have us look at VPW's? Do you do so?

BUT, lets not forget about the but.

"but the Scriptures ? they are God-breathed."

but, incontrast to,"Not all that Wierwille

writes will necessarily be God-breathed; not what

Calvin said, nor Luther, nor Wesley, nor Graham, nor

    Roberts;"

    context?

?"Search the scriptures ....? It does not say search

Shakespeare or Kant or Plato or Aristotle or V.P.

Wierwille?s writings or the writings of a denomination.

No, it says, ?Search the scriptures ....? "

    GOLD!

Is there something that we haven't mastered about this part of the class?

Now that I have read your responce to socks, I guess I can look at what I jsut wrote and say

    Who gives a rat's a$$?

Mike good luck (language of possesion,Oh NO!) with this whole thing. You have spent wuite a bit of time here seemingly to no avail. I hope (again using a word incorrectly icon_wink.gif;)-->) that you have time to really "win" some people.

Actaully, I take that back. I truly don't hope that. No offence just being honest.

  8. I was just saying this to my wife the other day.

I have been working with an innie family member recently. It is over now but it wasn't bad or aucward or anything. But it was enlightening to see the person intreract with the other employees that discuss spiritual and a variety of other topics.

I can look at my family now and see the wheels of hate and fear turning.

So I was telling my wife the other day how wonderful it is to be able to live without hateing everyone and to be able to discuss topics with people without going into an inner rage. I never was the rage type as an innie but there was the hate that had been instilled in me. I'm not just talking about homosexuals, I'm talking about anyone that disagreed with twi doctrine.

I have been out for about 2 1/2 -3 years and it is amazing how much my life and views has changed.

I love being able to think and enjoy people for who they are.

  9. Hey WW,

We were in Lubbuck (sp?) fm. 83-84 then in Midland 84-85. My Ps were the branck coordinators if I remember correctly and then we went in res. in 85. You must have crossed paths, though I was rather small then.

Oh and I was born in Courpus Christi.

So I am a true Texan and proud of it.

    Don't mess.
