  1. Ala , Thanks for posting the Kathleen Edwards tune " Hockey Skates" ! Here's another one of Kathleen's for you & others to enjoy called "In State" Love and Peace my friend !
  2. Thank you all ! Love the video Rainbow ! Rottie, yeah that was me the dancin fool ! Glad you still like the jacket ! Hey Excie Love you too and this is for you !

! 'Twas in another lifetime, one of toil and blood

When blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud

I came in from the wilderness, a creature void of form.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

And if I pass this way again, you can rest assured

I'll always do my best for her, on that I give my word

In a world of steel-eyed death, and men who are fighting to be warm.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Not a word was spoke between us, there was little risk involved

Everything up to that point had been left unresolved.

Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I was burned out from exhaustion, buried in the hail,

Poisoned in the bushes an' blown out on the trail,

Hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there

With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair.

She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Now there's a wall between us, somethin' there's been lost

I took too much for granted, got my signals crossed.

Just to think that it all began on a long-forgotten morn.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Well, the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides a mount

But nothing really matters much, it's doom alone that counts

And the one-eyed undertaker, he blows a futile horn.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I've heard newborn babies wailin' like a mournin' dove

And old men with broken teeth stranded without love.

Do I understand your question, man, is it hopeless and forlorn?

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

In a little hilltop village, they gambled for my clothes

I bargained for salvation an' they gave me a lethal dose.

I offered up my innocence and got repaid with scorn.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Well, I'm livin' in a foreign country but I'm bound to cross the line

Beauty walks a razor's edge, someday I'll make it mine.

If I could only turn back the clock to when God and her were born.

    "Come in," she said,

"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

  6. Interesting question because the whole word "cult" I struggle with at times. The main stream religion I was raised on seemed more like a cult in some ways than TWI for me. I do understand the cult aspect though of TWI when I was in it. I usually tell people when they ask how I ended up where I am now living that it's a long story and sometime I will tell them about it. !Most usually just smile and never ask again ! It depends on who is asking ! lol I wouldn't be living where I am now if I was not in TWI. There are many like me that eneded up where they are as a direct result of some TWI program. Some I do tell about my involvement in the Way and others I don't. I never aspired to much in the Way except for to fellowship with people who were genuine and who had real heart to the end that they really cared and showed that concern by example. The problem of course was all the other mandated crap that stifled that process. What I have noticed on how people answer whether they were in a cult or not is on how long they were in or how many of the programs they were involved in the structure too. Some are very bitter and some just have moved on and took what they thought was maybe good aspects of their experience. Me I don't what I am ? A little bitter sweet maybe ? Still carrying some baggage though ! How do you answer when asked Girl from Oz ? Your experience I know was much diffrent than those of us who were in TWI. I someday look forward to visiting an old friend in my hometown who was a Jehova Witness and this question can be one of many to add that we can discuss face to face. I look forward to it ! Gee did I answer the question Girl from Oz ? lol Thank you for the thought provoking thread here. icon_smile.gif:)-->

  7. Thanks all for the heartfelt prayers and this trip was a very life changing experience for my daughters who learned that even though there was a language barrier with the children they worked with it did not hinder their deep friendships they forged in Bulgaria and they now have a very special bond with some over there even with the e-mails in broken English they are receiving now from their new found friends. The trip too for me was a learning experience in that it softened my heart and made me realize that God is a constant source of renewal and sometimes because of my past experiences with TWI I lost sight of that. Thank you (((all)) again for the prayer. p.s. Yes Kit that parent hearts rest is an awesome thing too ! icon_smile.gif:)-->

  8. Mary got set off and decided to leave and yeah life will go on here at Greasespot no matter who comes and goes but will miss her perspective and found her quite the character ! icon_biggrin.gif:D--> Having met her and still will have contact, since she lives nearby and no she does not take her self as seriousLY as you may think. Yeah there's is drama and goodbye speeches but don't think you will ever get away from that here or anywhere else with the amount of people offering up opinions. Mary was and still is a friend and is unfortunate she left here on bad terms maybe with some. I do hope if there are really bad feelings toward her with some they do contact her in the manner she suggested on her farewell speech unless her profile is now gone with her e-mail. Probally is by now. icon_frown.gif:(--> Anyway Mary thanks for some of the post (just the ones I liked and some of the others ? oh well ! lol icon_biggrin.gif:D-->) Oblada di Obla da Life Goes ON ! Just like where I work. People quit all the time but there are some who leave with heartfelt memories ! Ok enough of my goodbye speech about Mary !

then i tried to reply to a serious topic tonight and was unable to from my pc...

and i am never able to post a reply from my web tv....for some reason...in the last 3 months..

and all i see is pages of posts about rejection.

so let's see if i get banned now for voicing my opinion.

as you can see i am in a very ....y mood.

Jen and everyone else who showed or is still showing concern for me I want to say thanks and that no I was never banned from greasepot. I was banned or locked out from chat for a few days and the whole P word in chat kind of got overblown to say the least and my post were subject to a waiting approval after that also. I was very irritated over the handling of it and voiced my opinion also to GS. In fairness to GS ALL THAT HAS BEEN CORRECTED NOW AND WAS ABLE GET IT WORKED OUT. I DO UNDERSTAND ABOUT BEING PI--Y (ANOTHER P WORD !) I was very peeved (better word) I was never banned though but I almost banned my self because the drama was getting a bit much. I still have some strong feelings over all this but remebered there were some good people on here that are genuine like whose post I am responding to now and just thankful in the big picture of life some have made as I have tried to make a diffrence. This site is a means to that and if anything I will be more on guard with my heart and what I type in text in the chat room or on the threads in the future.Hope you are not pi---d at me for posting this Jen but had to respond. May this all pass !!!!!!! No more Ken doll jokes I promise and especially now that minors have their ages listed!!!!!! icon_biggrin.gif:D--> p.s. Rocky grew up in my neighborhod and just knew him by association with our neighbord church & school and TWI. He is quite diffrent from the perception most on gs have of him. When he was coming into chat it was a good thing for him even though he was banned from the posting at the time .It gave him somewhere to go and allowed a diffrent side of him to show and gave something also to give the chat room outside of his very passionate political views. Sometimes some effort just needs to go into getting to know people and no I not trying to be self righteous and I don't all the reasons he was banned but the door was closed on him going into chat too. A little effort of kindness goes a long way I have found in repairing strained relationships. I know we all have our moments but man sometimes we love to stir it up ! I can stir too but don't enjoy the fall out. I am not talking about debating either. Debate is good as long as it is done with a little respect on any site ! Just my opinion and something to offer up for consideration. Long p.s. eh ? Thanks for your time . icon_smile.gif:)-->

  10. First time I ever posted a prayer request so here goes. Both my daughters 17 & 20 have another week and few days in Bulgaria working with an orphanage. I appreciate you keeping them in your prayers and their youth groups efforts too. As a Father I do have concerns about their safety and safe return and them both being gone at once has played on my emotions a bit more while they have been gone. We have heard from the youth pastor who sends e-mails for updates. Bulgaria is a very poor counrty with limited internet service so the e-mails I get have been precious. My daughters I am sure are having quite an adventure. Thanks again for your time and your prayers for them.
