Just sitting here watching a 'corny' Christmas movie. They had a church service scene and sang one of my old-time favorites. Just thought I would share. I hope the song is special to you also. Merry Chrismas! :)
O Lord my God! when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed:
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul! my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

I repaired a corner from the copper rain gutters on Kenyon. And all that time M*ke L*g*l and me spent sanding the floor in the auditorium.

What a treat! 15 or so yrs ago a former employer had them in for a sales rally in So CA. It was Lots-O-Fun!

Are those camo pj's?

My grandfather hauled some large rocks for 600+ miles for that place. I believe this was roa 79. If I recall correctly, each state brought rocks native to the area to help build a walkway or wall. Only saw the finished product from the road.

I'm not sure if this means anything, but after I read that I took all the chairs in the house, put them in rows, and used string to get them perfectly straight.... and put masking tape down to mark the corners ... must be some sorta subliminal trigger
Reminds me of friday nights at a house in irving. Where 'hot bible' was taught by a loving, caring, tender branch coordinator. Well, at least his wife was.

Rascal, I was at the other end of the state, Evergreen, AL. I never went to a limb function. I think the tc did once, if I recall correctly. He was a pharmacist and owned his own drug store. A wonderful man and family.
M*dford H.? I think that was his name. He lived at the limb in Bham in the late 70s with Ell#n He**ing 4th corps, M*cky Wi**ens, and a some others, nice guy. He was originally from Evergreen.

As part of the 12th corps I do not recall seeing the dog flick. I do however, remember hearing of it before in residence. Glad I missed it or forgot about it whichever the case may be. But the suicides... :(

LEAD, LMAO! What all of that had to do with God, other than being in a beautiful setting created by God, was beyond me. Yeah, the sweat lodge thing was a little weird.
Overall, I enjoyed LEAD at the time. Especially the Australian rappel, what a rush! It was definately demanding but a fond memory for me. I can still see the roadrunner on the other side of the road while hitching. The scenery of the El Capitan mtns was beautiful.
The first time, me and the parnter got back 17 or so hrs early. Two gentlemen in a nice sedan picked us up. I remember noticing they both had rolex watches. I fell asleep in the car while my partner was talking with them. I woke up and we were nearing Lubbock. Off the route! These guys took us to the airport and put us on a plane!
On my second trip I got reamed by one of the coordinators at the end of my duo. Their question had something to do with my communing with God during the duo. They were convinced that I should have heard him more or something like that while on the duo. I told them I could hear God in a city just as well as I could in the woods. That turned out to be the wrong answer, LOL!
The corps coor wasn't very impressed with the plane ride or the city vs duo reply.

I was there from Jan to May 84. Really enjoyed it, what a beautiful place. I remember the huge elk that would stand at the top of the hill behind the maintenance building. His antlers looked like some giant radar screen moving from side to side. While I was there they wanted to me to build a horse rack. We went into town and measured one at a vets office. Wonder if it is still there.

Although I cannot place your names I may have met you. I took the 'freedom class' in Bham that year.

George I am deeply saddened by the news and near speechless. I admire your courage to post this at the cafe. Last night I was reminded of our twig in Texas such a long time ago as I heard a favorite hymm, How Great Thou Art. Lisa was a baby then. I remember Alice L. baby sitting for you and Dee a few times. From the pm's we have shared, I have learned you have done an outstanding job raising Lisa and she has grown into a woman with a good head on her shoulders. What an accomplishment! I tip my hat to you sir! My thoughts are with you and your family. If there is anything I can do please let me know.
