  1. Hey Psalmie!

We were hoping you'd bring yer little piggy to the roast cuz we're still looking fer a main course icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

All kidding aside (hitchiking is out of the question right?) I'm sorry you can't make it, no weenie roast is complete without you playing yer sackbutt and psaltry icon_eek.gif

I recently changed my email addy in my profile to herbiejuan@hotmail.com if you need to contact me for any reason, please use that address.

I've had several requests for sleeping spots, at this point there will be a spare tent, a fold out sofa and floor space. Bring padding and a sleeping bag. Remember these cabins will be housing 6-8 adults and mebbe more so if you are bothered by folks ambling in and out at different hours or like to sing show tunes while chugging shots you might want to rethink where you will be spending the night icon_cool.gif

    Party on !!

  2. Cathy can you and a few helpers handle breakfast?? We can split the cooking up between two cabins if needed. What about the sausage flour n stuff???

Abi are we talking Taco Bell hot or Dave's Ultimate Insanity hot?? icon_eek.gif What about the fixings?? You be needing anything???

Hawk hows the stew looking?? Need anything to go in it???

    Any more food volunteers??

I think, to simplify things, we each ought to be responsible for our own drinks (I'm bringing plenty of coffee), eating utensils (the cabins have some) and any snacks/lunch stuff you might need.

So, with Hawks stew Abi's Chile and Cathy's chocolate biscuits we have 2 meals covered, out of like 5, what about the others?

  3. Sure Sudo but you were doing such a fine job already icon_razz.gif:P-->

So far there are 3 cabins rented. Two have one bed availble and I think the other has two or three beds left (Zix knows). The camp sites can handle 4 tents so if Cathy and Hawk get one apiece that OUGHT to handle any tenters (unless the whole lot of us show up in which case we take over the park and start our own country icon_wink.gif;)--> ).

    And you think I'm kidding...

You really do don't you icon_eek.gif

    But until then...

Let me know via private topic if you will be needing a space.

Now some folks bravely volunteered to cook a few meals for this gathering BEFORE it grew to @ 25 people icon_eek.gif

I think we could have two communal meals, namely Saturday night and Sunday morning. There will be lots to do besides trying to keep up with a watch so I think this simplifies things some. How about a pot luck with the soup chile and stew serving as the foundational principle for estatic farting icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

I think we'll need to figure out how much food we'll need for this not to mention kitchen help and or multiple kitchens so if you cooks could email me we could set this up.

There are stores in Manchester and Shelbyville but I know nothing at all of their hours except they do roll the sidewalks up after dark.

OK thats all I got for now...

    any questions??

be there or be square icon_cool.gif

  4. What we got so far...

Chile fer dinner n mebbe some of Hawks World Famous Stew...

Sausage n Biscuits n Gravy for breakfast...

Gotta have some sort of lunch stuff for Sat and Sun so I'll pick up some burgers n dogs n buns fer that.

Man it sure sounds like some good eats, sure am glad I"M going. icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

Should we take care of our own chips n drinks?

Paw I saw that Hmmm icon_wink.gif;)-->

  5. The chocolate biscuits were quite good actually, just couldn;t gather up the nerve to smother them in sausage n gravy icon_eek.gif

If you do a search on Tennessee State Parks you will find the TSP website from there you can navigate to Tims Ford and see what the place looks like. Currently there is one cabin reserved and most beds taken, campsites are on a first come first served basis but last year there were plenty of sites available all weekend.

You will need to think through yer food as the nearest restaurant is 7 miles away and their menu selection is rather limited. There are grills and firepits and of course the cabins have kitchens so perhaps we could coordinate a breakfast n dinner thang or two depending on who wants to bring what. Hawk??? you still got the fixings for deer stew?

  6. Greetings fair and noble G'spotters

It has come to my attention (short term memory loss not withstanding) that we are in dire need of another weenie roast.

    Therefore...

    icon_eek.gif

We will be holding the next one at...

    Drum roll please!

    More drums please icon_razz.gif:P-->

Tims Ford State Park (same place as last time) in middle Tennessee!

It will be Sept 19th (late evening) through the 21st

Tims Ford is a lovely lakeside park (big lake) with ample tent camping RV hookups and several REALLY nice cabins that can sleep 8 VERY easily and more with sleeping bags.

There is fishing, boating and trails not to mention deer, rabbits and other assorted wild critters (Hawk swears he saw bigfoot taking a dump but I think it may of been the wild turkey he put in his stew icon_biggrin.gif:D--> )

Anyways come if you can we had a great time last year and if you have any questions you can private topic me fer more details.

    Mikey
