    Hell it's even got purpose!

    Thanks Paw it wuz great!

  2. Wow...

Crammed into a tiny mold that didn't fit him

Yup I unnerstand that completely, glad you guys are out sane and reasonably happy, life is an adventure and should be lived with great gusto, twi did their best to squash that gusto but thankfully they failed for the most part. icon_smile.gif:)-->

The thought of killing for twi did pop in my mind a time or two, not the gee lets go kill fer our cult leader but more like ya know I wonder if these loonies are going to drive this thing to that point or not and then what will I do?

I never bought into the stockpile of weapons theory that has circulated through these forums so much but I did believe at the time (and still do) that if you added up all the privately owned weapons on hq property and perhaps a *private collection* or two you'd essentially end up with the same thing. I did believe that there were at least a few hardcore committed (or at least needed to be) followers who could VERY easily go over the edge for their mog.

This clearly came to mind at a rock (94 mebbe?)when the black helicopters flew overhead (what was up with all that anyways???). I pondered the significance of this and what might happen if someone did something really stupid and how I would get my family to safety. This was the same timeframe when the McSpit began his vehement attacks on gays, unruly children wives and other assorted creatures and I knew then that my time with twi was about over.

We made it out and life is good, there is much to be explored out there and we get a second chance to find truth happiness and peace and this is good.

  3. I think some of it was real and some unreal. We were a bunch of people clustered together patting ourselves on the back for our victories over *the world*. But it didn't stand the test of time. Shattered delusion coupled with social isolation bred mental distress when *the truth* came out. That is VERY real to alot of people who came out. I think those moments you spoke of as being sweet times in small fellowships is a delusion, whatever good came from it could have come from an endorphine rush in yer head.

  4. WB the shelter idea sounds interesting but I'm wondering if there is a real need for something above and beyond what already exists.

The majority of wayfers already have a job and a place to live so the extent of their leaving is to change their phone number and hang a no tresspassing sign on their front door. These guys will go through a *readjustment* period but already have life coping skills and will in all likelyhood be fine.

The only folks I can see having need of such a place are the folks at gunnison or hq which maybe number 250 or 350 all together and I don't see them leaving in hordes anymore. So my thinking is, if the program ain't broken no need to go messing around with it.

  5. Wonder, you really have everything.

You have the freedom to live life according to your dictates not the prevailing delusion. You have the right to reexamine your beliefs and change them if/when they don't fit any longer and you have the rest of your life to make new friends who won't judge you according to what corpse you were in or what minimog you are pals with.

Wishing you the best in your new found freedom,

    Mike

  6. Thank you gentlemen, I've perused the scanners functions and a bit of the tutorials (I just wish those things were easier to understand...I get so frustrated sometimes) and now have a greater understanding of the difference between the file types. Why oh why do they not make these things standardized, well I understand now, I think but what is important is I can now scan images to my webiste (bellsouth btw) and post 'em here.

Again my thanks and a happy turkey day to you all.

Paw, I don't have your smoke signal address, Cox.net is the only one I have.

    Happy B'day btw icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

  7. I am confused once again...

I can scan into tiff format but my website won't allow me to upload a tiff file to it. What is it with all these different files types? Why oh why would someone design so many instead of standardizing these things? Is there an easy (read free) program that can convert these things into a usable format?

I am seriously considering junking this whole internet/puter concept and returning to snail mail n smoke signals...

  8. Hello again puter guru's

My USB port seems to not be working near like it used to. My DSL is connected to the front port while my printer and mousie are attached to the back. One of my ports (the printer one) is broken and I'd like to replace it with a new one. This seems to be something I can do as I've already been in there a few times n all but I thought I'd ask your advice afore getting started. I'm guessing my local computer store carries replacement ports and I'm also guessing that it is basicly a unplug/replug operation. What say ye?

Again many thanks for your expertise.

    Mike

  9. I see this from two sides, first from twi's pov...

Ummm well there is none icon_eek.gif

    Next from my pov...

Those promises made years ago concerning Mrs W's care are twi's ethical obligations to fullfil pure and simple. They should expend every effort to fullfil Dr's directives concerning Mrs W's care and do so joyfully and with great zeal as God requires this of them.

That said, it shouldn't come as any surprise to learn that twi does not keep their word. Think of all the promises made to the hundreds (if not thousands) of believers who through the years got the shaft from twi.

If you cannot trust someone to keep their word, then what have you? A cluster fck fer starters, one that should send their remaining

followers RUNNING with their abs to some other church offshoot or coven.

I really do believe these guys are trying to run off as many people as possible. Whoever convinced them to do this outlandish thing had to have been a graduate of else m's spiritual warfare and corperate stratagies class (now available on betamax).

All I can say to harve and the bod is that the

pit you dig today may be the one you fall in tommorrow.

Good Luck sorting this out you guys

  10. My cousin keeps sending me word docs that I cannot get into, in fact it sez the file can't be found. Is this because the file name is wrong? and if it is then how do I go about finding out the correct file name?

This is frustrating to say the least...

  11. I looked over their service's and they look helpful. From what I gather tho GO is going through a funding crunch, having to get an extension on a couple of grants due to the sudden departure (with books) of a previous director whose name oddly enuf was craig icon_eek.gif

In anycase I don't think we'll be recieving more than 200 responses which means the staff can process the info themselves (we have a great bunch of volunteers icon_smile.gif:)--> ).

I think I'll play with the excel spreadsheet this weekend n see what I can come up with.

    Mike

  12. Thanks Igotout (thank god ya did bro!)

I particularly like that excel form.

I'll play with it this weekend. As and aside, what do I need on the other side of the form to recieve/read it? I'm assuming it doesn't just appear somewhere all by itself.

See GO (bless their lil ol hearts) has been using adobe for their online registration which meant/means that a conference attendee has to print the durn thing out n mail it in...

  13. Thanks for the help guys this sure is an exciting adventure for me that's for sure!

I am working on a form for Georgia Organics to use as part of a statewide survey of sustainable farmers. We have approximately 50 folks in my county who are involved in sust. ag. in some form or fashion and if the rest of the states demographics are similar to ours then there is a whole bunch of folks out there that we know nothing about.

Some of these will succeed some will not but by GO making contact with them and helping them to network, inviting them to seminars which are tailor made for them and promoting their products we will be doing our part in helping them to succeed. This is a drum I've been beating for several years now and is finally getting serious consideration (aka looking for funding).

There is a direct marketing position opening up in the immediate future (no I am not considering it) and I think this would be a fine fit with that job.

The form would need several tables for their address phone etc and another one for additional comments as well as a couple of check boxes and fill in boxes. Mostly stuff like how long have you been farming how many acres do you currently work and the all encompassing *what is the biggest issue or concern you are facing on your farm in 50 words or less*. Basicly what I want is a rough draft of the form with functional goodies to delight the eye, capture the imagination and hopefully provide a timely boost to it's inception.

My vision for this project is an all out effort to locate these guys via contacts at farmers markets, extension agents, conferences and any other means reasonably logical and practical; then to develop programs to meet their needs as well as building an online and print database of growers arranged by county for easy reference. But all I need now is a form...

  14. I'm working on a survey form for some folks. This will be an online questionaire with several multiple choice questions and a couple of fill in the blank and written answer ones as well.

Someone told me that Office xp can do interactive forms like this but I can't quite find this interesting feature.

Is there such a thing in xp? How does this thing work?? Where does the info go when it gets clicked? Is this like rocket science or can a humble window cleaner such as myself dream of one day finding the remote under the sofa cushions or at least figure out how to do a demo for folks to look at??

    Whatcha think ?
