Oh, also I enjoyed going to Emporia and Rome City I thought was beautiful..Going to the ROA was kind of fun for awhile, although I hate tent camping. LOL Change of scene I guess.

What I loved a long time ago was the fellowship, how sweet it was. That was probably why some people stayed as long as they did (those who left TWI) was they felt connected. In a church I'd been a part of for 6 years, I felt that same intimacy closeness so I knew it was possible to get that elsewhere in a church!!

My name is listed with discoverer next to it. Some people have some other name next to theirs. Where does that come from?

How can we find out about people who have left? Is there a directory, website or something?

And some of those who were quoted in Elena's book have been LONG GONE FROM TWI for years and years........Stxve Hxfner (gone), Elena (gone), Tim B (gone), Charlene (gone), Earl B (gone), etc. etc.
How do you know for certain who is gone from TWI? Where did Elena go for ex.?

quote:Georgio -- Like I said, I never did the *momentous thing*. I heard more negative comments about it than positive, so regardless of the fact that CES promoted it at one time, I refused to go.
I never did either, even if it was available to me.

What is a safe church? This one church we are going to check out on Sun has fellowships for men, women, sunday school, home bible study and one big fellowship ex. potluck!! That's lots.

We've tried COG,AOG, So. Baptist, community churches, nondenom like Calvary chapel (which is really good but it lacks much fellowship).

Well, I think we've all learned that the "love of God" can take various forms (not LOL). But I've heard it both ways from people, but who knows really? Does anyone suggest we call them and ask "hey are you gay?" Hmmm.
I say drop it.

These forums do not enable me to quote someone, but thanks to the person who said they prayed over the phone book. I did that the other night and like you, I was Pentecostal but felt drawn to a Presby church (PCA). I talked to the pastor the next day and we had a nice conversation. Looking forward to going there on Sunday. :)--> Thing is, I probably never would think that church was an option, but what I'm hearing here changed my thinking to at least consider it.

I agree Lorna 100%. That is true of anyone though in the Way. I mean, they've made their choices, I'm an outsider now so it really does not matter. God sees all.

Ah,a baptist church. Is it southern or some other kind?
What helped you choose this church?

Seems very sad a lot of leaders wives became controlling if they were not already, in order to survive all this.

Hi PersonalEntertainr;
Umm. you crave fellowship? It doesn't sound like you are giving people much of a chance here...

I would like to add that sometimes you have to visit somewheres at least twice or even a month when the "new visitor" status wears off and you see things as they are. Since we moved to AZ we have not had a church home we wanted to stay with permanently. To me it is not just about doctrine, although that is primary, but how people treat each other, what is available there.
