  1. I was there, when he (Loy boy) was on stage "proclaiming that statement".

Don't ask me what stage, or what year. I saw him on too many stages, over too many years.

Dude - you can't remember because we heard it so many times from so many stages - the antisemitism was rather rampant

  2. A special tribute to all of those TWI leaders whose concept of sexual behavior is not unlike carrion predators...

  3. Saw what I thought was a pretty good bumper sticker this AM. South Louisiana is about as Catholic as you can get. Now I don't really care about doctrinal issues, nor any one's particular bent on which denomination is better - but this one i thought was just a good statement on humans. Quoted per the sticker - don't slam the grammar please.

"I Am Thankful for the Thousands of GOOD Priests."

Dawned on me (sunrise is rare in my brain) that we always hear about the the priest busted with his altar boy or some such thing - but rarely hear about the ones who just go about their work. Reminds me of here - where we hear about all of the sins that the way corps committed and rarely about those who did something decent. Not that it doesn't happen - just was an interesting correlation in my addled little brain.

  4. Never mind - too late to post correctly - or too early - was posting Bob Dylan on the harpoon. Didn't seem to work....Yaw(cor)=.7cos(lat)

  5. Rum, plant them maters high cause ya'll are below sea level!!!! A hardy laugh. Hot and humid here too but not quite as close to salt water as you.

Never had any problems with my herbs. The key is to space them far apart. No touching. Tomatoes, for that matter, same thing. And no watering the leaves, especially late in the day.

Anyways, we are waiting for you to make us jealous. I have my pitchfork ready. (Your post back in October)

And how bouts coming off an etouffee recipe or two. :P

Thanks Kimberly! Tomatoes and I are old friends - thanks for the advice on herbs. I promise I'll send you or post on here some good recipes.

  6. Kimberly - never grew tomatoes in LA when I lived here before. You got any recommendations on a variety that will do well in LA? Also did you ever have problems with mold/mildew on your herbs? Basil and sage are prone to it in hot/humid places....not like it is hot or humid - yet - for another month or so

  7. John Lynn and the STFI/CES/SpidersfromMars are the only groups that I get first hand knowledge. And followers are willing to speak about their experiences. I've known a few from the Vince Finnegan group, but never got any docs nor got anyone to speak up about his group. I do know people that are involved with Geer and his strange network of information. They don't speak up and that is their privilege. A few read stuff here.

I rely on the eyes and ears of others. And no one has come forward about the other groups. The main focus of Greasespotcafe is The Way International. That includes offshoots. If anyone has credible information about any of the offshoots, please email me.

One of the unfortunate things that happen with many of these groups is that time brings back this Nostalgia, which gets people remembering the good times and forgetting the horrendous ones.

So, RR, if you have any info, by all means let me know, I'll be happy to start a new section!

All good points and TNX - I think your cogent point is how easy it is to remember the good times and not the bad ones

  8. Sad but true, Rummie.

Like so many things. You agree to one thing and they strung it out evermore.

Intrigued by the pic mstar posted.

D'ya reckon Jesus would have smoked?

I reckon he would have gone around in jeans and a T shirt - and perhaps on a motorbike, if he were around today. Maybe he wouldn't smoke nowadays, since there's a big backlash against smoking.

But do you think he would have done if he had been a young man - 30 years ago? 50 years ago? When it was quite fashionable?

Can you imagine JC and his closest disciples sitting around on the shore of the sea of Galilee, having been fishing, having a cook-up, and kicking back with a ciggie?

D'ya reckon there would be anything (ahem) interesting in the ciggie?

Right with you on that one Twinky - I always figured Jesus as kind of a "bad a$$" jeans, t shirt - and no one's wimpy fool

  9. I'm not a lawyer. Don't know much about the legal aspects of all this. One thing that does separate John Lynn from Chris Geer , Vince Finnegan, etc. is that John Lynn has come here, pitched his products and used his own name. So, I guess I'm saying that if the guy is willing to openly use his own name, himself, it should, therefore, be ok for us to use it openly in a post.

And the converse would apply, as well.

    Just my opinion.

    Good point - TNX

  10. maybe i'm reading something wrong here but i thought this was about why you can actually write out john lynn but not vince finnegan and geer and others?

or maybe you can but aren't supposed to?

Dunno for sure brainfixed - just seems like posters go to great lengths to "sort of" disguise a name and yet make it obvious who they are speaking of. Twas just a question.

ps. vince f was when i knew him an arrogant fruuckwad

So true - course I haven't seen him in 25 years - so maybe he got all saved or something....(likely not)...he most certainly had a temper though eh? Ahh them good ole boys that ran people into the ground so easily...how fun for them.

  11. Dunno about pot, but smoking just ordinary cigarettes could get you kicked out (this is post-Fog).

No smoking allowed at all in res, whether on grounds or on leave - one girl who had graduated a few weeks earlier and never smoked in her in rez time was seen enjoying her first cig (being no longer in rez) - and for that reason was immediately DFAC'd and a big hoo-ha made of it. "What?" ranted LCM - "You spent all that time in rez and you never learned the self-control not to smoke?"

Classic case of moving the goalposts - again.

Beautiful - LCM couldn't control his own thirst for power and the abuse of women but he could tell you why smoking is evil...

  12. I don't have a problem with it..

its just.. what agrees with me completely sometimes does not seem to agree with anyone else..

Uhh I dunno about that - we'd both agree completely on certain forms of agricultural practices I suspect

  13. Religion - what a win/win for any organization. Pay us now and you get paid when you're dead. And no one has come back to the complaint department that we know of. Pickyour flavor - all have the same threatening promise of eternity.

  14. I just can't get into the obsession about der Victoid's docterate (or not) dissertation. I mean... who cares?

Plenty of people with valid graduate and terminal degrees who are still con-men/women...you got 535 of them in the legislature. The degree is immaterial compared to the actions and intentions of the person. The drunken, woman abusing, cyclops had no good intentions whatsoever....however he sure was an accomplished con man.

  15. Getting back to the OP...

I was never sold on the inerrancy thing to begin with. But, if we were to discount all of the Pauline epistles as the writings of a "con-man", we would still have, NT-wise, the four gospels, the Book of Acts, Hebrews (I think), and Revelation.

Yeah...it would be a much smaller book, I suppose.

If that is the case I gotta got with the LSD and the Grateful Dead - thanks anyway

  16. With so much attention being drawn to John Lynn, openly by name, why does Vin[e F(nneg@n get a free ride? Wasn't he of the same henchmen ilk as JAL? How about G33r? Why does his name get a free ride? How about a long list of others that could go on for too long to post.

  17. Contexual reading? Like everything else in twi, it was a bait and switch tactic...

Wierwille would proclaim..."read it in the context"...and would then go on to tell you what the context was. He would give you the illusion that you were studying it on your own when in fact, he was telling you what to think. If you disagreed with him, you either conformed your opinion to his or you hit the road.

Contexual reading? It was more like mindless reading.

Twasn't mindless at all...the minds were actively being programmed as either his victims or his henchmen

  18. Just curious if TWI was ever classified as subversive in anyway by gov't? Probably too small time to matter, but still. . . . . it would be interesting to know.

    Yes

That is a good one for the old resume. "Former Subversive."

Uhhhh I love the humor but....NO. Remind me of the tale of the embassy guard and the term subversive when on the phone some time.
