  1. You don't want to play? :o

I think we are all in for a rude "awakening" in some way or another.

I don't really think it will be exactly like any of us believe.

Old Boudreaux was consigned to hell.

Upon arrival the devil took him to a hellish room full of screaming people with fire and brimstone peeling away at their flesh.

Boudreaux got a big ole grin on his face. The devil asked him, "what'chu smilin' about Boudreaux?" Boudreaux just grinned and said, "Say cher dis just like April in Louisiana - all warm and toasty."

The devil got angry and turned the thermostat all the way down. Soon Boudreaux's skin was blue and ice filled his hair and beard - everything was frozen in hell. He still sat there with a big grin. The devil asked him again, "What'chu smilin' about Boudreax?" Boudreaux grinned back and said, "The Saints just won the Superbowl!!!"

Just like Geisha said - The Saint's played - the Colts got a rude awakening - and most of us just couldn't believe it turned out that way.

Now dat's research!!!!! The translation of Geisha in the literal according to usage.

  2. English bangers? The sort you have with mash and thick gravy - that's brown gravy with water and flour, not milk and flour!

Yes dear - English bangers - the ones that I can eat like 4 of with mash and peas.

Do you mean Brattleboro?--Ive only been there a few times but I love the marvelous eccentricity of that town..

That town definitely got stuck in a 1960's time stasis.

  4. I have had a Countrywide mortgage for years. Last year I refinanced to get a better interest rate and pay off credit cards. Countrywide was always easy to work with even when one time I got 2 months behind in the mortgage. Then last year Countrywide goes under and Bank of America takes over.

I won't go in to all the small problems that Bank of America has caused just the big one. Escrow.

One of the nicest things about having a mortgage over owning your home outright is the escrow acount where they pay the taxs and insurance by collecting extra each month as part of the payment. Well a week ago I got the statement where they were refiguring my payment and the payment was going up over $150 a month. I finally looked at the statement and found they had included flood insurance (twice) that I don't even have or need. I called them up to ask about it and the story kept changing as I moved up the chain of comand. Finaly they said they were droping it and would refigure the escrow.

If any of you have had similar problems with them please PM me. I want to find out it they were only going after me or is it systematic. My neigbours went up $54 a month and they don't know why.

Two companies I have had 100 percent success with. Chase held my mortgage and GEICO holds my insurance policy (both vehicle and homeowner). Never had a problem with either one. Country held my second house mortgage and, at best, "kinda OK" which is to say no major problems but no major satisfaction. BoA has a horrible rep in California. Perhaps you want to just walk into a Chase bank and see what they will re-fi you for. GEICO is a free rate quote on line. Their customer service is phenomenal.

  5. Worst nightmare? Naw that's not it. That's when you see the bright light, and then get run over by the train..

    :biglaugh:

Just remember these old words of wisdom...it's always darkest right before the bottom drops out from under you...

    G'day Greene's theorom...

    God bless! You're the best!

    :biglaugh:

Seriously, I do wish only happiness for both of you.

Now, if we have a BBQ next year, can we count you in?

    George

Nope - won't be no BBQ - gonna be a crawfish boil and y'all are welcome - well sorta

Worse than the one when I turn into a jar of peanut butter and Dick Cheney is shooting me with a shotgun...and I am having a hard time finding legs to run?

I don't need peanut butter to have nightmares about Cheney - holy snot - the peanut butter has only gotta make it worse at this age.

for me relationships have been tough---I wish you both well

Ayep - but this one is a keeper - well for another week anyway - there's always fish bait

    peace...fulfillment...joy...and lots of lovin...day by day...each day...to you both.

    be good to each other

Thank you for those wishes - we'll do better this time around than when back in waydaze

    have fun

  6. I guess what I'm asking is how to uninstall Messenger. I can't be bothered with that stuff. I want my Hotmail account, and I want to go straight to it, not to some stupid page that tells me what stupid things some of the people in my address book are doing. If I want to know what they're doing this minute, I'll ask them. Skype 'em, maybe. Otherwise, I don't care.

Can Messenger /Live (I dunno what) be deleted or uninstalled? Because in Control Panel there is no installed program called Messenger to uninstall. Is it something I have to do through Firefox? If so, how?

    Anyone? Please??

It is installed in the registry hence you cannot snag it out of the control panel. Sweet eh? Yahoo does the same thing. Very few people are willing to risk editing their registry so we can effectively force a product on you that way. You can, however, change the settings so that it does not come on at start up and consume your memory resources - and it won't blather at you about how you need to stay in contact with family, friends, and all of god's earth

  7. Reading is a must. TWI be dammmmmed for telling people not to read. As for uncle scary day (book burning)...there was a Jewish philosopher who's name escapes me right now who said in the late 1930's...once they start burning books it's only a matter of time before they start burning people. The novel "Ninteen Eighty Four" (George Orwell) the main character (Winston Smith) worked for the "Ministry of Truth" where they daily revised current and past readable material to reflect what the great brother wanted people to see (out with the old wine in with the new dontcha know). Reading is essential to freedom (among other things). Freedom means we don't have to agree on everything; but read, read, read, read and formulate your own opinions - don't let the media, the government, or your church formulate them for you.

  8. No - - - It's not banjo or fiddle or blues, but you've gotta love how music adds to folks lives. cool.gif

Last year at the central market in Valencia, Spain, opera singers disguised as shopkeepers were selling produce at the various stalls there. Suddenly Verdi's Il Travatore starts playing over the loudspeakers and they burst into song. None of the shoppers has a clue what's going on. Sort of like candid camera, but completely charming.

Click on this & watch and enjoy the music and the faces in the crowd.

Much excellent. And OMG if you have ever had a jamone (ham) in Spain you won't buy another one in the USA. Did you see all of that fine jamone just hanging off the ceiling?

  9. I was reading some articles and I ran across these statements that just pulled me up short.

"When a man joins the military, the first thing they do is strip away his individuality. He is now the member of a company or a battalion. He is no longer an individual. When you join the army, you essentially sign away your right to decide what you want to do with your life and your time. The military is filled with individuals, but they can never be individualistic. That is the first thing that a man is broken of when he joins the army."

Does this ring a bell? Anyone?

Whoever made that comment made two mistakes - that is if they are talking about the US military.

    a) if "he is no longer an individual" yet later "The military is filled with individuals, but..." - well that is a contradiction

    b) The US military does indeed strip you down and rebuild you...but the US military most highly values its troops being individualistic - within the mission boundaries.

However if you to make that comment about of a number of other countries' militaries I would agree. I most certainly agree that it would apply to the TWI "lifestyle" indoctrination.
