  1. I hope you got your bird back excathedra??

Our bird got out once but he sat/stood in the road till a neighbor saw him and somehow got him back to us. I don't remember how she knew it was our bird. It was a parakeet.

Very lucky, and grateful, to get him back like that.

    :cryhug_1_:

  2. Verizon is good and bad - many dropped calls and lots of little added charges, but as someone has already said, apparently those charges are going to be there whatever service you use.

Many dropped calls on Verizon is all I can say; and the reception isn't the greatest on any of their phones I have used. But others in my family use more expensive models and say they don't have the poor reception that I experience.

I also can never keep my phone charged, and I don't use it much. Everyone else can talk and talk or leave it idle and it stays charged.

Customer service is pretty good; at least they're always there. Just be sure to check your minutes or the overtime minutes will KILL you. Oh that's right, you don't talk enough to worry about that!

I find it's less convenient using a cell phone as your main phone service but I wouldn't want to be without a cell out on the road, and especially at night. So if I have to choose between the two, I'll take a cell over a land line.

  3. I've never tried it or considered it, and it doesn't seem to appeal to me, generally speaking. But on another level, under perfect circumstances, it sounds kind of good.

Of course there are never perfect circumstances are there! Darn it! So I don't believe it would ever work out for me. And if I were in love with a man, I know I wouldn't even want to do it. But I think a large percentage of men would like to try it at some point; society and wives in general don't support it though, so they never do it.

But no, I don't consider it cheating at all, if it's something the couple agree to do. Unfortunately, it would seem like feelings would always be a problem, for at least one or more of the participants, at some point.

Like lines of emotional intimacy being crossed.

  4. Fascinating topic, very current to what some friends and I are dealing with at the moment.

    Waysider!

I did some research on this subject when I was working as a covert agent for the CIA

    and

...Geeze, I have to learn to type faster. You guys posted right past me.

I used to be able to type 200 words per minute before the terrible submarine accident.

    :P

  5. MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, "If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six."

BRITTANY (age 4) had an earache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: "How does it know it's me?"

MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: "Why is he whispering in her mouth?"

JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: "The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt." Concerned, James asked: "What happened to the flea?"

The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget.... this particular Sunday sermon..."Dear Lord," the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. "Without you, we are but dust." He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, "Mom, what is butt dust?"

    :biglaugh:

  6. Dot

I still cannot believe they have Grisholm and Sara Sidle getting it on.

They do? Oh no...well I saw an episode awhile back in which Sara suggests they try it, see where it goes, stop putting it off, that kind of thing. He didn't answer. I guess that was the last current, non-rerun episode I saw.

  7. Ah, what good sports you are! I don't deserve to win that but I'll take it anyway! :) Thanks

Better get ready gonna see the light

Love, love is the answer and that's all right

So don't you give up now so easy to find

Just look to your soul and open your mind

  8. "empties": twi-speak. A person not born again, who does not have

Holy Spirit, thus, empty inside. Usually in the context of them being

scum, not even worth saying "hello" to.

Whoa, how arrogant! Imagine gladly being part of an organization that taught you to view others that way. Devoid of any resemblance to the Christlike personality.

Those who have left that organization, and left that high-minded way of thinking behind, must feel so much better now.

Good for those who have done just that! :)

  9. doojable

Rubbing your hands on stainless steel after handling fish will also remove that smell. I always wash my hands and then rub the faucet. If you don't like that idea, there are stainless steel "bars" that you can buy from kitchen stores. They look like bars of soap.

Nice tip! Can't wait to try it - say, what about onion odor then? Much bigger problem for me sometimes. Garlic too. Lemon doesn't seem to take care of either. :)

  10. nolongerlurking

a good ten hours of great REM sleep

Oh wow, I'd love to get just a few hours of REM several times a week...I KNOW I need a new mattress! Tempurpedic here I come. :P

  11. Fine, put me on hold. I love listening to the "Music to Kill Yourself By" collection.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walt: Three juice boxes for six kids? It's gonna be like Lord of the Flies out there.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sean: Why are you answering questions with questions?

Eddie: Why does that concern you?

  12. I spent some time on an elliptical trainer and found it was far superior! No strain on my back, hips or knees. There is absolutely NO pounding with that. It's like pedals on a treadmill...your feet travel in an ellipse but it's not a bike.

krysilis - I agree, I loved the elliptical trainer! What fun.

I also agree about avoiding hydrogenated, processed food, and not to eat too much at a time; and not all of course, but a lot of people find they need to avoid too much wheat, especially refined flour. I know my family does better when we don't eat too much flour. Less congested.
