  1. Well, as some of you know, my musical soulmate is Heidi Newfield who plays with a band called Trick Pony.

Her mother had lived with Multiple Sclerosis for the past ten years. This last year it had resulted in her staying in a convalescent home where she died on Sunday.

The reason I posted this was to celebrate her life. I have told Heidi that now she sleeps and when she awakes to the Lord's return, her new body will have no MS, no pain, no suffering. She will be able to ride her horse in the mountains again.

She came from Scottish ancestry that pioneered to Sonoma County California in the late 1800's. She was a little girl on a diary farm and then moved later to a ranch where they ran 2,000 head of sheep on a coastal rangeland. She was a no nonsence woman, very hardy and incredibly optimistic. She loved music and sang along with Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette playing on the radio. She was proud of Heidi following her musical drummer and playing on the Grand Ol' Opry.

Life goes on. Heidi had to have vocal chord surgery this time last year and could not talk for weeks. Then she met the man of her dreams and is out and out, head over heels in L-O-V-E and had been planning her spring wedding. All along though, she knew her mother was imprisoned in a body that had betrayed her in disease. She is a lot like Mary Ann because she has not cancelled any shows and will be flying back from a gig here in Florida Saturday night to attend the visitation on Sunday and services and burial on Monday.

  2. Well, it did one thing for me..............................................................................

.................made me start reading Bullinger and EW Kenyon, etc directly. At least I didn't have a whole ministry screaming at me. It was very soothing. It was very peaceful. My fellowships kind of reminded ya of Corps nights when the verse and a translation was DISCUSSED. And there could be a difference of opinion. I also remember at one point were Dr. W. encouraged his students to challenge him where appropriate with the Word and research to back up the differing view.

Ah, but it must have been a dream, because next thing I knew, I was being reproved for having a reprobate mind, the spirit of slumber, etc. Sure glad I kept my Bullingers stuff. I was sure disappointed in the biography done by a wayfer. I don't recall any visions or signs given to him.

    Oh well.

  3. WOW-skers! What did I tell you? Thanks to our God for giving us Judges in our court system with wisdom.

The threat of sanctions might help stop the ex- when you have to pay your lawyer AND the other side's legal fees, it can hurt.

  4. Here's a selection of books that you might find interesting:

    1. Back to Eden Jethro Kloss. This was recommended to me when I was.... You know where. It can be a difficult book to read, however, read it in sections. Kloss was raised on a farm. He was a contemporary of the Kellogg brothers.

    2. Guide to Body Chemistry & Nutrition; Foods that Heal; Nature has a Remedy- all three books by Bernard Jensen. The great thing about these books is that they are an easy read.

    3. The Food Revolution; Diet for a New America- both books by John Robbins (heir to Baskin Robbins). These books are a great overview of what has happened to our concept of food and how it is processed before it comes to the super market.

    4. Nutrition & Physical Degeneration by Weston Price. This book is a little hard to find and the author, being a dentist, is not an easy read. However, the photos are very dramatic. In the 1920's & 1930's, Dr. Price went around the world visiting primitive populations and seeing the difference between traditional, nature-based diets and those that went civilized. This book, in 2000, was in its 14th printing.

A good, "get your feet wet" type learning experience is the School of Natural Healing's Be Your Own Doctor Course. It is well worth the money because it gives you a taste of simple remedies.

I have been asked about Nutritional Healing by Balch- it has some good information, but I would not rely solely on its information. Also Michael Murray, although from the nation's foremost botanical college, is also of the persuasion of inorganic treatments. I used to study homeopathy too, but thought that the Creator left us simply remedies and homeopathy was a little too difficult.

I mentioned more than two books so you could look for a variety.

  5. Aha! I found a topic I LOVE!!!!!

    Ok here it goes..........

First of all, I am a practicing and educated herbalist of 18 years. So, I have seen the stuff come and go. I think I have a pretty good perspective. Plus, I am an oldie "twi-er", which means I studied under Grace Bliss and Ira Hearn.

I come from an upper middle class American family who believed in once a year check ups from the family physician and once a year dental visits. My father had health insurance for the family through his employer. Eventually the family physician retired and it came down to whatever physician in whatever group practice was approved by the health carrier.

Then, as many in my generation, we left home and did not have the benefit of health insurance. Paid cash or went to clinics.

Personally, I have always questioned why taking care of my physical body always had to be the hands of someone else. Then the west coast tried to introduce organics and there was talk about a possible connection between food and health.

I was attracted to twi fellowships because there seemed to be a source of information regarding health, healing, and claiming the vitality that should be ours. Now, along the way (oops, bad pun), I found the bull.... radar detector in my brain went off on such things as "eat what you want cause you believe God" "if you don't feel better after I ministered to you it's because you're not believing big" or, the biggie: "the colon cleanse" in the Corps. I went around asking questions about the wisdom in the type of fasting and rotor-rooting effect of the cleanse and was told it was great!!!! I wasn't so convinced.

So, you know how it goes, you become "leadership" and your twig or your branch is getting the same cold or flu, or "attacks from the adversary" as everyone else in the world. And you pray for "your people" and they don't instantly heal. And you wonder why like the shadow of Peter, you can't have the same effect. So my research project was on health and healing. And I wrote back and forth especially to Mrs. Wierwille of my continuing research.

And then here comes this "new wave" of herbs, bowel cleansing teachers, etc. And I rolled my eyes just like the rest of you. I pooh-poohed, because, just like one of the posts above, if this stuff was so great why isn't the Journal of American Medicine publishing these findings? So, in my studies, reluctantly, I took a course in nutrition. I found a nirvana!

Holy smokes! NOBODY teaches this stuff! Boy, if someone would believe that diet equals health, we could really revolutionize health care. But the physicians were laughing- how stupid! That diet would have ANYTHING to do with health.

I began my studies with the School of Natural Healing who taught that taking a herb without changing diet and taking responsibility for your own health was no better than doing to the doctor and taking a pill.

Once I started to apply all of this information, the prayers for the sick began to bring about immediate results. Those who realized that just as they were taught in twi, that the Creator utilized principle upon principle, began to change their thinking. It was no longer "an attack from the adversary" but the violation of principle in the care and feeding of the physical body. Sure, we had some genetic issues to deal with (sins of the fathers passed onto the sins of the sons), but I really began to see the results.

Of course, in the meantime, the "meals" at the Corps Cafeterias were not designed with wisdom, the cleanse was scrapped, Grace Bliss' training had all but been forgotten. Then Dr. W. died of all things CANCER which we were all taught was a devil spirit.

And we all left or were M & A'd. And I looked at the forum boards and saw the very people that I fellowshipped with having the same diseases, illnesses, etc. as the rest of the world. I wasn't satisfied with that. Cause no matter what, I am pretty well convinced that we are all family spiritually speaking. And I was not going to take my light and hide in under a basket. If I could help, I would.

I realize that there is alot of skepticism. And with what the world has done with herbs and every Tom, Dick, and Harry comes out with remedies and products for sale- I am not surprised. And most of the time, I agree, there isn't a whole lot out there that will "cure" you. What I endeavored to do was to offer my education and experiences, without soliciting products, without being overly judgmental. It was met with a dull thud. Most of the responses were how great the doctors and drugs were and how the poster's faith was in those two things. I thought, my God, do you hear what you are saying? I don't hear "believers" talking. I hear the world talking. Have faith and trust where? Don't you question the source? Is the source a God fearing physician? Are the drug companies really making magic pills?

Well, within the last few years, the questions are truely starting to increase in volume. However, the b.s. in the "herb" or "alternative" industry has caused more distrust and alarm. The drug companies are now admitting openly that their remedy will heal your ingrown toe nail, but may cause nose bleeds, liver damage, heart failure, etc. Of course, it is sugar coated in a nice family commercial with upbeat music- so how bad can it be? The 3rd cause of death in the United States is Iatrogenic Events(translation: Doctor caused deaths). Last year's numbers regarding adverse drug reactions is 2.2 million. Unnecessary antibiotic use? 20 million.

My efforts were always designed to EDUCATE. Never did I say to take saw palmetto and that would "fix" your problem. Never did I say that prayer is not needed. Never did I say that our medical system does not have a place and don't ever go to a doctor. (Their place, by the way, is emergency and trauma medicine). I wish someone had put the health and healing package together for me in the manner I attempt to do 18 years ago. I would be so much further ahead in my learning and research.

I have tried to "preach" taking responsibility for your own health. I have tried sharing that reliance on someone or something other than yourself leaves you vulnerable and compromises your health. I admit, I had high expectations. I figured with what most of us have in common in background and experience, that it would be a breath of fresh air to have someone with some background and a certain amount of credibility. I never promised you a rose garden, or the easy way. I don't expect change to be an overnight, effortless thing. I just did not expect the types of posts that I have seen where drugs and surgery and whatever the doctor says was accepted without question-without the investment of time necessary to research and question "alternatives".

    The Masterherbalist hath spoken........

    I need a green drink!!!!

  6. Ginger-

May our heavenly Father, El Shaddai, uphold you in His strong arms and comfort you.

Remember our God is true and we have the Hope.

More and more, our generation is dying of causes which should not happen to those so youn. But you know all too well, as you have so eloquently stated on this forum, that our physical well being, as are the other areas of of life contingent upon principle. I will say no more.

Please be at peace, my sister.

  7. Contempt of court petitions without merit will speak volumes to the Judge. Wasting the court's time is not normally not well tolerated. Plus it speaks volumes to the credibility (or lack thereof) to the petitioner. If one causes a question in credibility on one issue, it makes it harder to regain the credibility on other issues. It sounds like the other side's counsel is having a difficult time keeping his client under control.

Keep your cool. Stay focused on what you want to achieve in court. Ignore the other side. (Easier said than done, I know, however it is important that you remain factual and to the point without a lot of emotionalism). Make sure you can document your argument(s). If you have counsel, make sure you and he (or she) are on the same game plan.

I wish you all the best in court. If for some reason, the court does not give you the best response this time, there is nothing to prohibit filing a request for a rehearing on the matter. Sounds like the other side is using the court system to inflict as much distress and emotional pain as possible. Don't let it get to you. Don't react. Without the desired response from you and in causing a question in the court's mind as to the credibility issue, the opposing side will run out of steam, options and hopefully money to continue this abuse.

    Hope this helps.

  8. Hey Dot-

All the best to you. I wish I had been standing there with cayenne in my hand. Cayenne not only stops the bleeding but equalizes the blood flow to prevent the light- headedness.

Garlic is a great antibiotic, anti-fungal. Tea Tree Oil. Aloe on the wound will provide the body the material to mend the skin.

Never be sorry for asking the family for prayer. We are supposed to do so daily anyway, so a little extra thanks to our Jehovah Rapha for making us awesomely and wonderfully, never hurts!!!!

  9. Very good post, GingerTea!

Regarding the physical opportunities, check out ALL your options before deciding. Being the unpopular voice on this board when it comes to quesioning the AMA methodologies, including drug therapy, I will go no further. Our Creator has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness and the prayer in Ephesians still is pertinent today: that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened that ye may know..........

  10. bowtwi:

I would place less faith in an aggressive attorney. What you might need more is knowledge.

As one who has an abundance of experience in attorneys, personal injury and the Florida No-fault law, I have found an informed client is the best thing for THE CLIENT. From the liability aspect to managing your benefits in order to get the maximum out of your medical treatment.

    Just my two cents............................

I am however, thankful that you and the princess are alive and on the mend. Cars can be replaced, but your life and its impact on all of us, cannot.

  11. Dot:

    Masterherbalist here.

I reviewed the product and I am not impressed.

    Overpriced, over-trumped, etc.

Why do the Japanese live so long? Not because they are putting patches with tree vinegar on their feet every night. Diet and exercise is the key. Research shows that when Japanese come to America and eat the Standard American Diet, their health declines, they manifest the same diseases that Americans do, and their longevity is cut. Take an elderly Japanese who lived most of their life in Japan and raised their children in Japan. Move that family to the States and have them adopt the lifestyle and the "sins of the fathers" starts to show up. Each generation that lives on this lifestyle lives less vitally and not as long. The food they eat, and then producing children (manufactured on the food eaten) produceds children who live even less vitally and life expectancy declines with each generation.

Dr. Christopher taught to live and feed from under your own fig tree. Items grown for food in Japan are designed for (bodies)people who live in that land-designed for that altitude, climate, etc. Our Creator has provided us with an abundance of our own "fig trees".

I have charged my students this year to honestly look at what kind of body they continue to rebuild year after year. The body built is the result of decisions the owner makes. Although there are some genetic predispositions that may not be necessarily overcome in one generation, my training has shown me that people tend to invest more of their time and money into creature comforts than they do into themselves. When they do try to address physical needs, they are attracted to packaging and claims made by the seller, rather than researching the matter and finding that actually the answers are right in their own backyard.

I learned from my time in bible studying that the answers are simple.

  12. I am glad for the symptomology having gone away.

Perhaps its time to look at the care and feeding of your human body and see what changes you can make to ensure that it is at its top form.

One of the ways I got involved with healing was personal experience with an illness that once it passed, I said to myself- "I don't want to go through THAT again! How can I prevent it?"

The biggest key is the care and feeding of the body. We in this country are so undernourished! Most of our ailments are made by us!

Again, many thanks to the Great Healer for his continuing presence and for He as the Creator-as this human form and us are wonderfully and awesomely made!!!!

  13. Did I mention that I love you Ginger Tea? You are just bold as tacks. I love it.

Dot: I love you too, however I will not pray for you because of a situation. I learned better than that in TWI. I pray, daily, for my family, thanking God for you and for the eyes of your understanding being enlightened that ye may KNOW... We have already been given everything pertaining to life and godliness-what else is there to pray for?

My prayer is for your mind and heart returning to the peaceful seas and knowing that your heavenly Father will give you the KNOWLEDGE that you need to succeed over a physical opportunity. The doctors that are treating you do not have training to seek the Great Healer and look to him for answers that might go against their medical school teachings. I know that it is against our society's inbred brainwashing to challenge or question doctors, but let's look at the Godly results. H-m-m-m-m-lacking a bit, I would say.

Hippocrates was right. This body's function is to house our soul and spirit and its total job is to regenerate and eliminate and preserve itself. So when the body reacts by swelling to a bug bite or sting, it is working. The body senses a foreign substance-it does not know if that substance is good or bad so it sends the immune soldiers to contain the substance by building a wall around it. Then the macrophage and t killer cells come in to either neutralize the substance and allow the body to eliminate it throug the elimination channels or absorb it. Antibiotics do nothing but surpress the immune system and trick it into allow the drug to enter the body without restriction.

Tea Tree Oil is an excellent idea topically for scratches, wounds, etc. because it is anti fungal, anti microbial and yet the human body recognizes it as a helper and not an invader.

So my thanks to our Creator, because as David said- We are awesomely and wonderfully made!!!

  14. Del was the first "Christian" example to me that made sense. Instead of a wimpy, take it on faith, brother, type of Christianity-Del showed me that it took guts to stand up and believe the Word, passion to enjoy the walk with God, and compassion in serving people. Balance. That's the word that comes to mind when it comes to his example. Real balance. That only fence sitting was hard. Thanks God for Del's life.

  15. Oh, my. what a loss.

I knew Joe AGES ago. Dot Matrix: I also knew Eddie and Gloria Fisher.

I've been out of the loop lately and just now discovered this information. I am in shock. Joe was always a sweetie. I was always encouraged in his presence-never felt judged or condemmed. He truely grabbed onto a dynamic walk with God and never let go.

Wow, I'm sadden because the world is a darker place without him. See ya at the gathering!!!

  16. The Cleanse was a BAD idea, and let me tell you why.

Back when I was a skeptical baby herbalist, I asked ALOT of questions concerning the WISDOM used in employing the cleanse. Dr. Christopher taught us that natural therapies can warm you or burn the house down. My experience was people sickened, weakened and miserable. I was told that this was necessary as the toxins were released.

Look, if you ain't terminal-you have the TIME to do a cleanse the CORRECT way. It won't be half as uncomfortable. It will be more effective and the method of coming off the cleanse is as important as doing the cleanse itself.

I like the posts about Dr. Schulze.

Once again, though, much of these posts cover only part of the story. More and more I am seeing how herbs and natural therapies are taking a negative hit because they are being employed in a way as the posts reflect. Every body is different. Not one size fits all.

So you come to the masterherbalist and you say I got a bad case of poison ivy. I have A LOT of questions. Besides your dietary review, I want to know what medications you are taking; how long do you normally have a cold or the flu?

There is alot more here than just take an herb. Although cortizone can be beneficial used sparingly, it really silences the very immune response that is saving your life. It doesn't take away the cause-just masks the symptoms.

  17. My thanks is way overdue for Maurice Gibb's life. I remember when the Beatles came out and I thought, "gee, I can do THAT!" When the Bee Gees broke, I read where they too had looked at the Beatles and said "gee, we can do THAT".

What a life! Taking something that came naturally to you and working it every day with the child-like wonder and anticipation. No matter if the BGs were thought of as cool or not, there they were, continuing to find new songs and sounds.

It was good to see Maurice have some good moments in his life. His wife Yvonne was a God-send. She always saw the best in him, even when he couldn't see it.

Thanks for the inspiration, Mo. Your music lives on.................................

  18. Hard to believe the impact that this lady made on my life.

I was a pretty hard-nosed individual who found her lessons in living a thing to ridicule. However, I found myself going back to her notes. Especially when I felt the colon cleanse too radical for the average body. She and Ira Hearn were ahead of their time.

When searching for my longsuit and "ministry", it was the notes I had saved from sitting in her class that had a new light once I began herbal studies with Dr. John R. Christopher.

She was proof positive that age does not equal slowing down. Thanks.

  19. DIAZBRO:

Been everywhere you've been, done that, and got a drawer full of t shirts. Especially the admonishing by leadership. To the point where I was told the ministry had ENOUGH musicians and I needed to find my place in the body (ie something ELSE).

Maybe we should start our own thread..........

I play guitar, sing demos and have a little studio myself. "Almost heaven, SW Florida."

  20. Read the Vegetarian Myths:

A classic example of getting documentation together to support "your" theory.

The post by simon was very demonstrative of what really works. People who, as Dr. Christopher used to say, "eat under their own fig tree" and eat according to the season. But how many of us really do that?

Dot, if you were coming to me for counsel on creating a diet that not only feeds the body but makes you feel good, and tastes good, we would look at the follow:

    Current diet and health

    "Upbringing" diet

    Current lifestyle and exercise

    Ailments (chronic or reoccurring)

    Prescription Medications

    Personal food likes and dislikes

A specific program, just for you, with plenty of room to "tweak". A program that changes as your tastes and commitment changes.

So a good nutritionist should give you a plan that is flexible but progressive where you should "see" a noticeable change in how you feel. When you are not terminally sick, I don't see ruling out eggs and dairy, nor fish- but strive to get the best.

Let's get our blenders out this morning!

    8 oz of pineapple/banana juice

    handful of chopped coconut

    one whole banana

ice as needed for how thick you want it to be.

    BLEND-drink!!! A Pineapple Colada!!!!!!

8 oz of apple juice (or strawberry-apple combo)

    handful of frozen strawberries

    one whole banana

ice as needed for how thick you want it to be.

    BLEND-drink!!! A Strawberry Scream!!!!!!!!

(These are not hard and fast recipes- I've seen people add a scoop of sorbet or a scoop of low fat yogurt as well as other berries, fruits)

  21. You had to know that this subject would bring out the masterherbalist.

I hate to say that Zixar is wrong, but we are herbavores. Our dental makeup is just like the gorilla who lives substantially on fruit, vegetation, nuts, seeds. Unlike a meat eating animal, we do not have the enzymes in our saliva, do not have the tearing teeth, do not have the digestive make up in the stomach, nor is our intestinal tract as short as a carnavore. Meat eating animals actually have teeth that tear into and grind up their meal. The enzymes assist in breaking down the substance. The amount of time that the meat is actually in the digestive process is very short so that it does not decay and autointoxify. Many of our digestive problems in this country is that we eat so much meat, cook out the enzymes, which might help with the digestion and then it sits in our colons for sometimes days.

Now, that being said, there is no truth to the fact that vegetarians cannot be healthy and flourish on a well-balanced diet. The Creator placed the original folks in the garden where they freely ate of the vegetation. Meat was only utilized on the ole Ark because for 40 days and 40 nights and no refrigerator, your fruits and vegetables would note last. But it was a temporary measure. Unfortunately, the suceeding generations kept eating meat and the decline in age from Adam's 900 years to Noah's 600 years declines rather rapidly. There is no other information given for this lifespan declination. Moses lived to be 120 which seems to be the max we can expect now, but we are not even making it close to that.

All this being said, I find most of my consultations are really made up of designing nutritional diets. Alot less meat and more of the other stuff. When you are sick, it is best not to be eating meat.

Unfortunately, many people equate the declaration of becoming vegetarians with martyrism and starvation. This is not the case. My own family would not have taken to an overnite change. And they didn't. I looked first to add more vegetables, come up with interesting recipes for salads, adding fruits by smoothies and the like. Eventually I found products like Gardenburgers had actually improved taste-wise and I could prepare "burgers". No one knew the difference, except I knew it was better for them. They produce meatballs now and I recently made them in spaghetti sauce. Never revealed to them that I brought them. When they did find out, they were surprised. More choices are out there in breakfast patties, etc., if you want to use them in place of meat.

There are a lot of positives to becoming vegetarian, but I know of very few full-time, full-fledged vegetarians. Even the masterherbalist is not a total vegetarian. I do not, however, eat any red meat or pork. I eat a small amount of turkey, chicken and fish. But the majority of my diet is fruits and vegetables. I use a juicer or go to the juice bar and get a smoothie for breakfast/late morning break. I have a salad or juice for lunch and eat a reasonable dinner. I will admit that I have a sweet tooth.

See, the key to vitality is to go beyond counting calories, fat content, sodium content or the like. Get with a nutritionist who believes in counting vitamins and mineral amounts and attempts to exceed the RDA accepted levels. A diet which gives the body what it needs to function will actually assist the body in finding its proper weight.

I expect many opposing comments here, however, allow me to state that I went to school for nutrition, and natural healing. I have also incorporated these principles in my own life and taught them for years. My goal is to work with the body I have got to be the most vital and energetic. Though I am the masterherbalist, it is alot more than just herbs.

  22. Happy Birthday, Chatty Cathy!

50 is only mid life! (if the lifespan of a human is 120, which is what it should be).

Who needs to be 29 again? Let's see at 29, I had young children, full time job, ran a fellowship, was in twi............ gulp!

Now the kids are grown, it's not a job-it's a career, am a living witness, and not in twi!!!

So Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Cathy, happy birthday to you!!!
