  1. Mike,

You should educate yourself on Plagiarism before making the claim,

    quote:
I see your continual plagiarism charges to be a hysterical desperation to condemn. Your religion of hate will not do you ANY good!

I don't think you KNOW what it is. Victor Wierwille did NOT clearly acknowledge the source of his information. Saying something in a tape does not make it right. What makes it right, is accurate footnotes. EVERY place that he references someone's work. Privately the staff at HQ knew it was plagiarism. You seem to be one of the few individuals in the TWI/exTWI community that is unaware of it. And YET, you insist spewing statements like, "your religion of hate" to individuals that are just stating facts that are true. Below is a link to a university website. You can go to Google and get plenty more. I would look in the mirror to find out who really has an "hysterical desperation."

    quote:
Plagiarism is using others' ideas and words without clearly acknowledging the source of that information.

  2. QQ - The document was originally sent in PDF form. The Way also agreed to send me the letter as a Word file, allowing it to be read more clearly. I copied that into the HTML pages which are currently on the site. It was my intention that their words appear exactly as they sent them. I would certainly want to change anything which was inadvertantly altered by me.

  3. I received an e-mail from Harve Platig requesting that we post a response he has made to J. P. Wierwille regarding the care of Mrs. Wierwille. I have verified that the email I received - and the letter addressed to J.P. - are in fact from Harve Platig, Vice President of the Way International. It?s a fairly detailed letter, but one which I think is worth taking the time to read. See the front page for the full story.

I want to make it clear that I heartily welcome The Way?s effort to present the facts as they see them on this issue. Obviously, there are those in the ex-Way community who may see things differently. I invite responses to these developments from Way and ex-Way alike. I would like to simply remind everyone that it is my intention to maintain a polite and relevant dialogue.

It?s fairly noteworthy that the Way has chosen to respond publicly, here on GreaseSpot, about this very important issue, and I?d like to keep any debates about it civil. I will moderate accordingly. I encourage anyone with questions about appropriate conduct to read (or re-read) the rules of our forum.

  4. I saw it Wednesday night. Great performances. In particular, Sean Penn.

Clint Eastwood said that his directing style is to let the story unravel. That is probably the best way to describe the story. It is a crime drama that reveals the characters and their interactions. It keeps you riveted right to the end.

  5. Vickles,

You may be getting these "warnings" via a service that is on by default in your system.

    Go to Start

    Then Control Panel

    Then Administrative Services

    Then Services

When you have Services open look for Messenger and double click it. Where it says Startup type, select Manual. Further down click the stop button.

This is a back door way of getting message through. It was designed to work with large internal networks, you don't need this on.

See what this does to the messages.

I would download ALL the windows updates. They fix things in one program that may affect another.

You said you use webroot spyware. I am not too familiar with that, but I know that AdAware, as John mentioned, has all the latest patches including the passiton problem and even purity which is another current problem.

If you are using the Yahoo Chatrooms, then you are getting popups from Yahoo also.

The last thing that I would recommend is the new Google toolbar. It has a feature that prevents pop up ads...it is also free and non-intrusive.

Let me know how these work.

  6. Hi all,

I just got home a few minutes ago. What an exhilarating weekend.

I stayed overnight in Nashville and watched the Emmy's. A Sudo look alike walked away with a bunch of awards

I've had a day to think about what it was that made it special. Yes there was great fun, generous amounts of delicious food. Small groups all over the place talking -- either reminiscing or getting to know each other.

I think that what made it special was that here was a group of people that in different places went through a life changing experience and overcame it in their own special way. We have the in common the life changing experience to varying degrees, but we ALL overcame it. And THAT is what we have in common. THAT is the introduction to each other and the bonding.

And to take this a step further, we were able to do in a short weekend what was not accomplished at those wing ding in New Knoxville. People engaged. People were able to talk about their lives with others that understand.

    The weekend was very impacting.

  7. Well I had a marvelous time.

It is a great bunch of people and we all had a wonderful time. Sudo kept us in stitches, which explains the giggles on the faces. LittleHawk and

Rascal pretty much kept us fed with really good food.

The company and conversation kept us going from morning until.....morning.

    I'll post more this evening.

And is anyone else having a problem with the pic? It looks fine to me.

It was nice to get out into the country.

  8. Passiton is more of a pain than a virus.

The best way to tackle it is to run some anti-spyware software. I've fixed about 20 computers with it.

    Go to this link

    http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

there is a box on the right to download this free program. Run it and quarantine everything that it finds.

Then go to internet options in internet explorer and change your home page to what you want it to be.

there is another thing going around that is similiar called something like "purity" that is supposed to protect your computer from porn... it actuallly will pop up loads of porn sites and eventually shut your computer down. The Ad Aware software that I linked above fixes that also.

  9. We only mentioned about five songs on this thread and they played two of them.

When I went down to visit Plot in April I had goosebumps when I got on the NJ Turnpike. I was just singing, "counting the cars on the NJ Turnpike, they've all gone to look for America"

And yes Krys, the Boxer is one of my favorite songs of all time.
