Sorry, Waysider, I've been busy. Plus, the weather was just too dam nice to be inside today.
Not too obscure; it's a great song, with great lyrics, especially the first verse:
When you love a woman
Baby love her with a thrill
Cause, if you don't
Somebody else will
Gotta love that!
I didn't know that Tampa Red wrote it way back in 1928.
And I didn't know Paul Butterfield did it either. I'll have to check that out.
Thanks for the Clapton clip - WOW. He sure can make that guitar talk.
He is insanely talented. Hope he records it, so I can add it to one of my playlists.

Waysider:
I knew you would get this one - such a bluesman you are.
And you picked Albert King! I like Cream's cover, but King is The Man!
Your turn....

Another clue:
You know, wine and women is all I crave.
A big bad woman's gonna carry me to my grave.

About a month ago, I read Deborah Layton's book, Seductive Poison,
in which she chronicles her time in The People's Temple.
According to her, Jim Jones' body was found in the pavilion, but he did not shot himself.
Layton sees this as a cowardly act; that he couldn't do the same thing - drink the cyanide laced Flavor-aide -
that he expected of his followers.
Layton conjectures that it was one of the insiders, I think a girl name Lisa (?),
that shot Jim Jones, then killed herself with cyanide and a gunshot to the head.
Actually, Jonestown wasn't that weird. After reading Layton's book,
I found the similarities between The Peoples Temple and TWI to be quite chilling.

The Beatles - "Revolution"

Your question prompted me to do some research - there was another hit
that I vaguely remember, "Twilight Zone," and another that I have never heard of "The Vanilla Queen."
And a bit of trivia: For their Radar Love Tour, the opening bands were KISS and Aerosmith. LOL
Okay - New Tune:
Bad luck and trouble's my only friend.
I've been down ever since I was ten.
-
And it's half past four and I'm shifting gears...
"Radar Love" - Golden Earring
-
Dooj, you got it.
Take it away......
-
New Tune:
And the northern girls with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night
-
One of my all time favs -
Sometime, anytime, sugar me sweet
Little miss innocent sugar me,
Take a bottle, shake it up
Break the bubble, break it up
"Pour Some Sugar on Me" - Def Leppard

Cute puppy!
I voted.
That's a great contest. Nice to know that the money will be given to pet charities - too many unwanted and mistreated dogs and cats, for sure.
-
Woo Hoo, that's a winner, dooj.
Your turn.
-
Wow, tough crowd! I thought for sure there would be some
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young fans here. The song is "Carry On".
Okay, let me see if I have any luck with this one -
you know what they say - third times a charm.
New Song:
Set me free, why don't cha babe

"Long Time Gone" - CS&N, Woodstock 1969

I guess this is not a song the can be remembered from just one line,
although I do think if ya'll heard the opening music intro you would recognize it.
"Space Truckin" - Deep Purple
Here's a link to a live performance at Hofstra University, New York, 1973 -

You're up.

"I am the Walrus" goo goo gacho - The Beatles
New Song:
We had a lot of luck on Venus

No, not "Angel of the Morning".
Think hard rock.

Okay...I'll give it a shot (not that I haven't done enough derailment my own self)...
