  1. Well, call me cynical, but I don't think LCM ever left TWI - he's just doing a little penance for the public. It wouldn't surprise me if TWI was still giving him money.

And how do we really know that he's not keeping in touch with Rosie, Donna, and the BOT? Helping them plan the future of TWI?

After all, LCM does know where all the bodies are buried - so to speak. Could they really kick him out and rest assured that he wouldn't air all the dirty laundry?

Who knows, maybe he's like a Karl Rove for Rosie, always plotting and planning behind the scenes.

Anyway, it's my conspiracy theory and I'm sticking to it. :biglaugh:

  2. PBS is airing it in my area too.

I watched the videos of the survivors on the website and the stories they tell are eerily familiar. The similarities to TWI are chilling.

I thought this was a great quote (from the website):

"Nobody joins a cult. Nobody joins something they believe is going to hurt them."

Thank you for calling my attention to that reference in I Samuel.

Still, I don't see mention of David, specifically, at this point. Following the events that took place after this, we can see where David was chosen.

I don't think, however, that VPW handled this in a completely honest fashion because he fudged the chronology to make it seem like, even after all that David did, God found him to be a man ater his own heart. Maybe I'm reading too much into that, I don't know.

I suppose this could go to the doctrinal forum if someone had a desire to carry it any farther.

    Personally, I do not.

    Waysider,

You're welcome. I looked it up because you had asked about it twice and I thought I remembered that there was a reference to it in the OT.

It was just bugging me that I couldn't remember, so I had to look it up.

Right now, I don't have a dog in this fight, and like you, don't have any desire to carry it any further.

  4. did twi or vpw get anyone born again? leading someone to manifet who already had the spirit doesn't count. It's kidda hard to live in this day and time and not hear how to get born again.

Don't know if you really wanted an answer to this question, but yeah, I did get born again in piffle. Before taking the class I thought all Christians were deluded and the Bible was a joke. Never heard of SIT or any of the other manifestations until I went to fellowship.

Also, I personally know of two other people who were born again as a result of piffle.

    Just my three cents...

    I don't remember filling out a questionnaire for CF&S, but that doesn't mean that I didn't; I just don't recall.

However, I do remember, when I was at Emporia, those of us in the College Division took the Myers-Briggs psychological test. Supposedly, this was to help us figure out how to better get along in groups by knowing another person's personality type.

Only problem is that we each got our individual results but not really any kind of follow up so that we could put the knowledge into practice.

Even at that time, I thought it odd that a spiritual organization would be giving psychological tests.

Wonder what information they were really after?
