  1. My secretary wants to make these for her Christmas party and asked if they could be frozen two weeks ahead of time. I don't see why not, but wanted to ask your opinion. What do you think? Two weeks in the freezer?

I don't see why not either -- just make sure they are sealed well in a ziploc bag or container. I've never left them in the freezer more than a day, so I really don't know.

Haha.... I'm SO GLAD you like them!

  2. We don't really have any food funnies here, so when I received this I LOL and thought of you guys..

I received this recipe from my Mother in law and I had to share it....

Here is a chicken recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing - imagine that.

    BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN

    6-7 lb. Chicken

    1 cup melted butter

1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)

1 cup uncooked popcorn ( ORVILLE REDENBACHER 'S LOW FAT) Salt/pepper to taste

    _____________________________

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush chicken well with melted butter, salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.

Listen for the popping sounds. When the chicken's foot blows the oven door open and the chicken flies across the room, it's done.

    Yee-haw!

  3. I've had a few situations, as described above, where just out in the world people would stare at me in a way and make comments. One man at a homeless place started yelling at me for no reason and I looked him dead in the face and said, "I'm talking to this man, not you, so leave." And he did. The man I was standing with was amazed. I knew that was spiritual. But I wasn't led to "cast anything out." Another time this lady was completely out of her mind, punching everyone that came near her and I walked up to her, took her hand, and led her away speaking in tongues and she just walked like a zombie. People all clapped for me afterwards -- I said, it wasn't me, it was God.

I recall reading in one of the books -- it was Jesus who controlled the spirits with Words -- or something like that. I'll have to find it.

In Advanced Class we learned that you don't always cast out the spirit -- only God knows when it's time -- sometimes it's just for your knowledge.

But LCM definitely abused that, along with alot of other things.

  4. I had never heard of her but picked up some of her tapes at a garage sale and googled her name. There was a lot of trash talking, etc. and then some good things. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of her. It just kinda reminded me of how people talk about VPW.

  5. I'm just thinking off the top of my head and maybe WordWolf can find the scripture -- but the lady that mocked the apostles. She had a Viper spirit or something (sharp tongue). They couldn't do anything for a little while....

But it is an interesting question - I'll have to think on it some more.

  6. I've heard bits and pieces of LCM's speal on the devil working through the internet or something. I can't recall all the details but I do *think* he said you can get possessed on it or something...not sure.

  7. Thanks for the reply Roy -- out of 41 views you are the only who did - interesting.

I was not referring to myself in the post. I was referring to someone else whom I have seen be mistreated for this illness and I was wondering

if anyone else had insite from their past experiences.

But thanks for the post --

  8. Hi. I was wondering everyone's insite on depression. I know that TWI taught it was a devil spirit and that "real" Children of God should not suffer from it.

I have seen people being talked out of medications only to have "not so great things happen" and then leadership blamed it on "believing." I'm really annoyed by some things told to people about "snap out of it," "you're not working the Word enough," "It's not all about feelingssss....", "it's not all about YOU."

    Those are just a few.

When someone is depressed it's not like you messed up on a test or your cat died -- it's something you can't just "snap out of."

I have mixed feelings about this because I can see the adversial side but I also see a side where we're children of God living in a world of sin. Free radicals in the air, war, abuse, mistreatment, food (animals being injected with horomones for faster growth), sugar, bleached flour...these are just some......those can all affect a person.

I think it's so wrong to criticize someone for saying they feel a certain way.

What are your takes on the issue? Should this be in doctrinal? Not sure -- but I do know TWI was rampant about it.

  9. I know the bible says ask, but I don't understand what it means by ask because my experience is different. my most vivid memory of asking for something was after the new twi biblical family class and how condemning it was to me. I railed on God and asked him why he would want me to give up something wonderful that they were teaching in that class was wrong, and I got an answer. it was one that helped free me from the twi prison. but I didn't ask for anything, just for an answer.

What happened Potato? What did you ask for?

  10. I don't understand what is so confusing about Needs and Wants Parrallel.

If there is a need and you want something then it's available. I'm sure you all know the "red curtain" story.

The lady wanted red drapes and needed a furnished apartment.

I could want a new car and write specifics down and need a new car because my car is unreliable.

I could want a new house and need a new house because the neighborhood is going down, rent is being raised, etc.

    It's not that complicated.

As for reading the Word or not, yes, it's spiritual food but I concur with the other folks on here that you too come off judgemental.

It's God who only judges and it's only God that knows each of our hearts.

I'm a little confused by your whole ramble....no offense. But it's like you're trying to catapult over a mouse turd.

  11. I just found this recipe - so I have not tried it - but it seems easy and simple and sort of picnic like - one suggestion was to use mini muffin tins:

    Corn Dog Muffins

    INGREDIENTS

2 (8.5 ounce) packages cornbread mix

    2 tablespoons brown sugar

    2 eggs

    1 1/2 cups milk

    1 cup grated Cheddar cheese

9 hot dogs, cut in half

    DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease muffin tins.

Stir together the cornbread mix and the brown sugar in a large bowl. Whisk the eggs and milk in a small bowl until smooth. Fold the eggs and cheese into the dry mixture until moistened. Spoon mixture into muffin tins until 2/3 full. Add 1 hot dog half to each muffin. (Some people said they cut up the hot dogs in smaller pieces so there was one in each bite).

Bake in a preheated oven 14 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown.

And here is my recipe for:

    Spinach Nuggets

Even people who don't like spinach have eaten these at my house.

2 (10oz) pkgs. frozen chopped spinach

1 T. minced dried onion (I've omitted this before)

2 c. herb seasoned stuffing croutons (I've used chicken seasoned and think it tastes a little better)

    1 c. grated Parmesaen cheese

    2 beaten eggs

3 T. butter or margarine, melted

In saucepan cook spinach and dried onion according to package directions. Drain well. In bowl combine spinach mix, croutons & cheese.

Stir in eggs & melted butter. Shape into 1 -inch balls (or smaller). Place in shallow pan. Cover and freeze. Transfer to freezer storage containers. Return to freezer at serving time, place froze nuggets in shallow baking pan & bake at 375 degrees for 15-20. Makes 48 (approx.)

    * If freezing step is skipped, bake less minutes.

(Bring some toothpicks for all the finger foods -- it just makes it easier to eat)

P.S. RainbowGrl reminded me of pinwheel roll ups in the snack thread. I use to take a tortilla, spread with hummus, shredded carrots (take the carrot slicer that gets the top skin off and use that so they are thin and long). Roll up and wrap in seran wrap. Refridgerate at least 2-3 hours. Slice into bite sized pinwheels.

I've used sandwich meat before too with cheese -- same deal -- just have to be careful not to use anything that will make it soggy (like pickles, tomatos...etc).

  12. Don't breathe when you are yelling because your face turns more red and therefore you are more in tune with the holy spirit.

If spit falls on you - consider it a blessing from the man of God.

You always have the option to leave.....but then you aren't obeying now are you? You're rebeling.

    Don't think, just do.....
