  1. I don't believe that for a second. This is how I know you go beyond legitimate criticism to cynicism. I'll listen to legitimate criticism, like saying he was a serial adulterer, but he was a mixed bag at a minimum. I was a college atheist when I took PFAL. I believed the Bible and have been growing in it ever since. I've got VP Wierwille to thank for that. I wasn't a follower of Dr Weirwille. Ive studied the Bible myself and ran with a number of different churches through the years. When I was disappointed in or kicked out of them I took my Bible and Jesus and kept on going.
  2. Luther wasn't the only reformer although I imagine that's not what Catholics call them. Heretics? Idk. Of course, before that were the Anabaptists and I don't know who else. I don't personally feel a need for all Christians to be gathered together in this way. My personal pursuit is Acts-type Christianity with miracles and "revival"...outreach...conversions... I want to be a part of the body of Christ really getting it right and welcoming anyone who wants to come along. There is much I could say along these lines but the potential to experience Jesus in our day, in this day...I won't try to say anymore about all Ive seen and heard. I've talked about it some already. Real, living, powerful(!?), supernatural, Azusa Street Christianity... Yeah, that's where it's going.
  3. God's wonderful, matchless word. The word! The word! The word! I wasn't in too deep. I never got to see anyone challenge his understanding of the word. If they don't follow a unity, liberty, charity model like the one I mentioned then it isn't a place for me regardless of what anyone said or did when they were alive 40 years ago.
  4. Well, I did reference his best days and in PFAL, he couldn't do enough to emphasize the Word and not Time, Look or Life. This would be a great topic to explore. If he got off the Word and made it exclusively about his teaching of the Word, when did that turn take place? As I mentioned, another church doing the same thing this morning. Probably a pattern problem
  5. I think that would be a GREAT question to put to anyone in leadership, there. If they don't subscribe to this maxim, I would want to know why. I'm not going to stick around anyplace a long time judging them, if I don't like it I'll just keep moving. Was listening to Morningstar Fellowship this morning. The speaker made reference to Rick Joyner's claim that those who stay behind in support receive the same reward as those who are sent out. Now, why would he do that!? That's just lazy. Why reference the founder of the ministry instead of the Bible itself!? It's 1 Sam 30:24 It seems the Way still has this problem. They want to play Weekend at Bernie's with Dr Wierwille. I'm pretty sure in his best days Dr Wierwille would not have wanted that. The Word, The Word, The Word! He didn't teach VPW, VPW, VPW!
  6. For the purpose of a serious conversation: "In Essentials Unity, In Nonessentials Liberty, and In All Things Love." This is a widely referenced maxim. Christians have plenty of doctrinal conversations. When it reaches a limit, Christians just split and have two separate groups with the same essential message of Jesus the Christ. Some groups are better than others with regard to liberty. To refer to various sects as separate religions is intellectually dishonest, whatever passion you may feel.
  7. I'm so glad/ that I'm part of/ the-fam-ily-of-God- Not so fast, my friend. What a gut punch. Thrown away so easily. And, the father, 5 kids, no possessions of his own! Wow! Obviously, some had more skin in the game than others of us. The gospel is like that. It spreads amidst guerilla warfare. Better not bitter. How glorious these survived with faith intact. Not VP's faith; not LCM's faith; not RR's; These with a faith of their own and flourishing. I think it's interesting to take note of the time of each person's story. It sounds like the current leadership renounces some of the practices coming from that era of leadership. I'm not saying it's clear skies, there still seems to be cultish denominationalism or sectarianism, if there is some difference between those two words. I just want to acknowledge whatever progress has been made and be open to fellowship and brotherhood to the degree that is possible.
  8. That's me. Secret agent. Busted! Now, look at all I have to lose. Warm friendships. Insight into 4 crucified. Alas, couldn't fool you.
  9. AI got saved!? Shout out to everyone who has ever been in a dungeon with Jeremiah or in a lion's den with Daniel. He got sucked into American-ness calling a class on Christianity Power for Abundant Living. Layers there to be peeled back to discover it's still very good news.
  10. Enjoyment is an American standard, I'm sure other cultures, too. I often look around and see others seemingly enjoying themselves far more than me. But, you and me, we were taught the word. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:14 Or, were we? Seems we were taught some elements of the prosperity gospel. Being refined often isn't fun. The chastening of the Lord often isn't fun. Dying daily isn't fun. Pruning isn't fun. If we're going to live our best lives they'll demonstrate some of the above. I suppose it isn't until the final tally, when this life is done, only then will we know how well we lived these lives. I'm living to draw closer to God and to serve him. I've missed out on many common pleasures of this life. That's just the Bible for any who may still believe it.
  11. In some weird way this almost seems kind. Almost like tender... I'm going to guess the majority don't exit with a lot of fanfare. They just stop posting, stop checking the board. That's my guess. I don't feel any need to make a grand declaration. We don't shoot the breeze on GSC. OK, what do we do? I suppose I'll be making that observation and fade when I fade. All love. I neither want nor need special attention. Political shift going on. Theological aspects too. You can probably find me on X calling Pastor Greg Locke a cuck and a redneck, complaining to Cindy Jacobs to leave the Muslims alone. I'm not planning to leave the Internet or the natural world.
  12. Thank you, Oldiesman. Not sure what you all do here if there's such a focus on staying on topic. Idk, maybe somebody new shows up here freshly processing their experiences. They work through it and another one shows up freshly processing their experiences? Then, another and another...? Almost like some kind of rescue mission, or whatever? I just don't know what's in bounds and out of bounds in this community. I've been involved with a bunch of ministries. I'm interested in furthering my walk with the Lord, not so much looking back. It was fun to reminisce. As I've said, I wasn't burned as badly as some. I did have a surprise pleasant meeting traveling through New Knoxville. Message me if you're on Facebook or X or even to swap numbers
  13. On a mission from God. I say nuke it. It's time to move on.
  14. If we stayed on topic the thread would have been over a long time ago. Probably why this sight is dying. Any good message board has a main theme but still people develop relationships and want to shoot the bull. Please don't be offended, I'm just sharing what I learned from a lot of messages board. One exception. Nathan Jr is probably going to be obsessed about 4 crucified the rest of his life. 40 years from now he'll be on GSC talking about it.
  15. Just so you all know, this isn't vulgar. This is perfectly placed humor from, I believe, the 2004 BET music awards. Kudos, sir. Well done. Didn't think you had it in you!
  16. We can build on that. What do you think of Rick James?
  17. See, we need Christian remakes of music like this. No gaydar required.
  18. 1 who cares? 2 who cares? 3 who cares? 4 Lonnie Frisbee. Paul Cain. It's sad 5 YES! (just not watching dance shows on the stage with the gaydar going off in your ear.)
  19. I'm scared to look at the new stuff by myself. Somebody posted this to a message board once and everyone thought it was hilarious. I was the only one who knew who they are. How did the Way go from Joe Fair and PDSRO to this? Super cool to uh, not so much? I just don't want to get something on me. https://youtu.be/1AFXR8nuOnc?si=ayeuevDPzSA2vxwB
  20. We agree on something? Now I am confused.
  21. Unless it's Nathan then he can go on and on about things nobody believes anyway. So, who else is not a moderator? Wordwolf who wants me to know we can do this the easy way or the hard way? I mean, I was having fun. I haven't curb-stomped anyone that badly in a debate in a long time. I will say this, it's probably better to get back to good music. Best topic we've had so far. Joe needs to fill us in on the music history after Claudette.
  22. Somebody said something about red herrings? Why is it you and only you are talking about flat earth and four crucified?
  23. By bad. Waysider determines who can talk about conspiracy theories and you decide what the conspiracy theories are. Glad we have rules.
  24. No, if you get trucked arguing there is no such thing as a Bilderberg Group, and somebody pulls up their website, somebody may believe their lying eyes.
