It also never ceases to amaze me that people who got involved w/TWI in search for God, to learn His word as it hadn't been taught for centuries, so readily abandon the same word of God when it comes to their present conduct.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! in search of God's Word? Thats not why I got into TWI. I was told by the 70s leadership that thats why I came to TWI but as I recall in reality I got excited over all the hot hippie babes I met. icon_biggrin.gif:D--> icon_eek.gifconfused.gif:confused:-->

"to learn His word as it hadn't been taught for centuries,"

taught? was it all the cursing, namecalling, threats,, the physical, sexual and emotional abuse that these so called leaders gave out that seems to turn you on? VP getting BJs in the motorcoach...LCM getting his predatory sexual appetite fed by the many vunerable women he abused? What century are you refering back to that taught the Word with this type of malicious hypocracy?

  2. Wacky..Red Yeast Rice capsules. I just happened to come back from the Health food store with a bottle of those bad boys.

Cowgirl...he's right about levels below 200. My mom just died suddenly of a massive heart attack. Three arteries were over 90 % blocked. Her cholestrol was 145 at her last check up. She was also on 20 milg of lipitor.

  3. I have aquitted myself from commenting on these type of threads but I just got slain in the spirit to do so icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

"There is none perfect except Jesus...you know that better than anyone here.

I don't recall JAL telling me or you how to run our lives....he had/has the love to stand up and proclaim what he knows to be the truth regardless of his shortcomings and the dead corpse we all carry around with us (Romans...I find then a law...the things I would not ..those I do...and the things I would those I do not.....) Remember those words at all?"

Sorry I don't buy it. JAL is nothing more than a traveling medicine man selling bogus potions and serums.

We have every right to judge peoples actions. We do have courts in the US last I looked. We still have judges sitting on our benches making judgements over peoples actions every day. Last I heard you have to appear before a judge to get a divorce, yes? We are a nation of laws to protect the innocent. If you drive thru a stoplight and you hit someone and I see it I become a witness and a reliable referance to the facts even though I am not perfect. If I testify as a witness of your actions I am not violating any of Gods laws. I'm a witness.

you said "I don't recall JAL telling me or you how to run our lives..'

You obviously never had him as a LC as I did back in the late 70s in NY. He towed the company line and hurt many people telling them how to live their lives. He spouted the poison of TWI and thought he was bigger than life. He spoke TWI interpretation of the Word and was abusive as most TWI leadership were. He spent his TWI years kissing VPs arse touting TWI doctrines only to leave and attack VP and his doctrines touting CES doctrines as the all truth since leaving. He's affixed on being right in doctrine I guess.

Maybe someday he'll realize how boxed in he is to bible jibble and fundamentalism if he gets a real job and works for a living for once in his life. As a human being he's probably a really good dude as a bible teacher he sucks, he sets a poor example by his actions.

    The Beer Diet

I, like so many Americans, have tried many different ways to lose weight. I have never been obese, but I had been trying to lose 20-30 pounds for quite some time. I have tried diet pills, but I got hooked. I have tried the protein diet, but I learned that you can't drink beer, so I quit that one pretty quick. I was almost to the point where I was going to start exercising, but an intervention of some of my closest friends saved me from that dreadful fate.

So one night, while doing my obligatory research in the BIGFY laboratory, I looked up and realized that it was 10:00 PM and I had forgotten to have dinner. I chose to forego dinner, and have more liquid nutrition. Unbelievably, I had just stumbled onto a discovery that would ultimately lead me to create my own weight loss regime: The Beer Diet.

I began eating breakfast (which I had never done before on a consistent basis), usually just a breakfast burrito or an omelet will suffice. I continued to eat my normal crap for lunch, such as a cheeseburger and fries. Then, in the evening, I would simply enjoy my brew and skip dinner. Pretty soon, the pounds began to fall off like the digits of a leper. After six months of this "diet", I actually went from a pudgy 185 lbs to a lean 155 lbs. Ironically enough, I also lost my beer belly!

Maybe the most important difference between the Beer Diet and other diets, is that those other diets have a not-so-pleasant side effect called sobriety. When my friends and co-workers began to notice my new slender physique, they asked how I did it. To a man, they were all incredulous to learn that the key to my weight loss was beer. Most still do not believe me to this day, but I swear to God it is true.

The diet works because the majority of all the fat-producing caloric intake is ingested in the early part of the day; say, before 3PM. Food that is consumed after that time would normally turn into fat while you sleep and relax in the evening. I don't have any scientific proof of this, but it makes sense to me, and it's the best explanation I can think of.

I began to research the reasons for the diet's success and found that beer is, among other things 93% water, contains no sugars or fat and only low levels of additives. In fact, according to Dr. David Williams (a professor of chemistry at the University of Wales), beer is the complete food because it contains carbohydrates, protein and vitamins. It also contains liberal amounts of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium. Add to this the vitamins folic acid, Niacin, pantothenic acid (B3), riboflavin (B2) and pyridoxine (B6), and you have the perfect dietary supplement. And it is available in convenient 6,12, and 24 packs. I actually prefer the industrial strength and economically prudent keg. You don't even need a prescription!

It has been almost a year since I began this diet, and the weight has stayed off. I do allow myself one or two dinners per week, and I am still able to maintain my slender look. While the Beer Diet does not act as quickly as some other, more drastic diets (it took about 4 months to lose 30 pounds), it is much easier to stick to. You are eating the normal foods you always have (i.e. junk food for most of the readers of this web site), and you get to drink as much beer as you'd like.

One word of caution: If you attempt to lose weight using the technique I've described above, you must do it from home. Do not attempt to use beer as a dietary supplement at your local watering hole. For some people this may be difficult as I certainly understand the importance of getting away from your spouse, or parents, or housemates whenever possible. But I suggest converting your garage into a sanctuary/bar/weight loss center and smoke lots of cigars to ensure privacy. People will leave you alone, and you'll be able to lose weight in peace. Never, under any circumstances attempt to "diet" at a neighborhood pub, as your local law enforcement probably doesn't want your operating heavy machinery after a busy night of "dieting".

If anyone would like more information on the Beer Diet, or if you would like to share your own success stories, please email me.

    Happy Dieting!! ( From: http://www.beerisgoodforyou.com/The%20Beer%20Diet.htm)

  5. Not looking for something you may have read about but something that you know by experience works. I'd love to hear from Sudo and his specific diet.

I have been on statins (Lipitor) for about 2 years and have developed muscle fatigue. I am not overweight. I work a physical job get lots of exercise and avoid junk food. I am 6'1 and 180lbs. I'm a SWHM looking for a SWHF...no not really icon_biggrin.gif:D--> icon_biggrin.gif:D-->. My cholestrol is on average 220 even with the statins. Medical advise is to increase amount of Lipitor or change to another statin. I have had stress tests with ultrasound and eckograms ...all I have passed with high grades.

I'd rather chew on a clove of garlic or injest monkey balls if they work without the pain of statins. Please don't tell me I have to go to the rain forest in Brazil to collect Butterfly Bass eggs and mix them with tree bark from the dogwood tree to be healed. icon_biggrin.gif:D--> I have limitations.

  6. Just got back from doing all the legal stuff. Now comes the difficult task off getting rid of all the household things and personal belongings.

My Mom was a very good woman. Great laugh. She treated everyone with the highest respect. It was difficult for her these last few years without my Dad who is in a nursing home especially during the holidays.

She was in the hospital two weeks ago for a bleeding ulcer. She lost over half the blood in her system. They gave her about five pints via transfusions. When I left the hospital on Weds the 2nd of March she was doing fine, couldn't wait to get home. They released her from the hospital at 11:30 am on Sat. the 5th. She and a good friend of hers had lunch at a local restaurant ( her Favorite) and the went home. She got home at about 1:00 pm. I talked to her at about 2pm and she was so happy to be home and felt great.

We talked about how she should get out and get involved with a senior group..go to Toronto on trips to see shows and maybe go to the Niagara Falls Casino. Enjoy her money..spend it..have fun. She agreed and said she would. At 3:00 pm I got a call from a police officer and he wanted to know if this man was suppose to be in my Moms house. I knew the man...a neighbor ..who would come over and walk her dog. I tried to get information but the officer could only tell me that they were taking her to the hospital. ( Privacy crappolla). He said I should come down. About 15 minutes after I hung up with him..the neighbor called and told me that he found her when he returned from walking the dog. He tried CPR but was unable to get a pulse. He called 911 and they came. When they left my Mom was without a pulse. The hospital called and gave me the bad news. I was shocked that they could release her from the hospital with a clean bill of health that morning and she would die that afternoon.

Autopsy showed she had a massive heart attack due to three arteries being over 90 % blocked. In all her years she never complained of any chest pains.

Thanks to all for your wonderful thoughts. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to help my Mom during the last two years. It was very difficult for her . She never had a driver license..never used a checkbook..never knew anything about what assets my Dad had. I had everything set up so I could do her banking online and the Local Dept. of the Aging along with her senior friends took care of the transportation needs. The Senior community in her home town was just superb. They take care of one another. They support and care for one another. A tremendous learning time for me to see the compassion and heartfelt concern these senior citizens have for one another. My Mom was one cool lady..had to be to raise a knucklehead like me.

    Thanks again. Jim

Hope ..Kevin B is very sick. my e-mail is jakowits@frontiernet.net

  7. How Bout this for a spiritual heavy Gem.

When God destroyed the population with 40 days of rainfall during the time of Noah all animals and mankind died except Noah and his family and the animals on the ark. God obviously spared the fish and all the crustateons of the sea. After all.. how could he possibly drown a fish? icon_biggrin.gif:D--> icon_rolleyes.gif:rolleyes:--> anim-smile.gif

  8. Here is the story about BUBBA the Lobster in photo above

    FoxNews:

Gigantic Lobster Spared From Boiling Grave

    Wednesday, March 02, 200

PITTSBURGH — He could be older than Warner Bros. studio, General Motors and the Boy Scouts. He could have survived two world wars and Prohibition. He could have been dinner.

He's Bubba, a 22-pound leviathan of a lobster pulled from the waters off Nantucket, Mass., and shipped to a Pittsburgh fish market.

"It is overwhelming," owner Bob Wholey said. "If you see it, you will never forget it. Customers are just in awe."

On Tuesday, Wholey gave the lobster to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium (search), which will send him to an aquarium at a Ripley's Believe It or Not museum.

Based on how long it typically takes a lobster to reach eating size — about five to seven years to grow to a pound — Bubba may be 100 years old.

That would make the crustacean older than Warner Bros. (1907), the Boy Scouts (1910) and the states of Arizona and New Mexico (1912), not to mention the first commercial radio station (1920), television (1927) and computers (1943).

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (search) sent Wholey a letter asking him to work with the group to release Bubba back in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine.

Another group calling itself People for Eating Tasty Animals (search) reportedly offered Wholey a hefty price for the lobster. At Tuesday's price of $14.98 a pound, Bubba would retail for about $350.

Bob Bayer, executive director of the University of Maine's Lobster Institute (search), is skeptical and estimates that Bubba is likely 50 years old, but doesn't know for sure. Warm water and plenty of food may have more to do with a lobster's size than how long it's been alive.

"We have looked at all kinds of things to figure out if there is any way to age a lobster. I'm guessing 100 years is probably too high but I can't argue with it because you don't know," Bayer said.

No matter his age, Bubba dwarfs a typical 1½-pound lobster. He's about three feet long and took up about half a 4-foot-by-4-foot tank at Wholey's Market. A lobster sharing his tank was about as big as one of Bubba's claws.

A handful of people who wandered by the tank Tuesday were impressed. One woman quietly said, "Wow," while a man said, "He's serious."

Although his business is to sell seafood, Wholey says Bubba was never bound to be boiled and buttered. And he's become a little philosophical after seeing the lobster, which could be twice his 54 years.

"I don't think you could eat something that big. ... What range of emotions does a lobster have? Greed? Lust? Love? I'm just going to give him to the zoo and hope he lives another 100 years," Wholey said.

"If you sat down and ate this thing, wouldn't that be a bit shellfish?"

  9. On October 10th of 2003 I started this thread by asking....

    Poll Question:

    Does Size Really Matter?

    Please explain your answer.

I'm kinda partial to large mellons myself!!!!

And in the case of rear back seats..It would be a more feasable position to be in if you had a '57 Chevy instead of a 2004 Yugo.

    Choices:

    Yes without question

    with vegetables only

    Huh?

    none of your friggen business

    No ..not at all

    ______________

You woman have given this thread a re-erection because of your gutter minds. I'm shocked !! From mellons to big boobs to large penis. How could you take such an innocent thread about fruit and turn it into zippergate? icon_eek.gificon_eek.gifanim-smile.gif You women are crotchaholics.

  10. I have a carpet cleaning/duct cleaning/restoration business. 80% of my business is commercial. I want to attract residential because of the better returns. I have used the yellow pages and find that they are unproductive. I used to spend 2000 a year on yellow pages. Most of my residential customers are a result of cleaning the businesses where they work. I want to accelerate the residential base. I do the neighborhood five around deal. Thats where you leave cards and info at the two next door neighbors and the 3 houses directly across the street. I am leaning towards the website deal but would like to hear more about its effectiveness and maybe the details on having a good one set up.

Thanks for your imput. I've read many good ideas here so far.

  11. Any one else self employed? I've been self employed for 22 years now. As the years seem to fly by I find myself less able to keep up with the physical work load I once was able to. I've takin on another worker but would like to maintain my level of income. I figure I'll hit the streets and promote as I did when I started the business. I have a pretty solid client list along with many referances so I feel relaxed in selling.

Any other ways to reach people fast and consistantly? Anyone have a business website? Do you find it rewarding? How about the yellow pages? I would like to reach the greatest amount of people in a very short period of time. Anyone have suggestions? My target is to reach dinks first. (double income no kids). Residential will be my main target. Commercial accounts are secondary.

  12. Sudo...Thanks but I figured it out.

OK I'm a Yankee fan who has adapted to and expect the Yanks to do well every year because of their winning tradition.

On the other hand the Sox finally win the big one and their fans go nuts.

Congrats to all you BeanTown NUTS.. Hehehehe!!!

Gotta love this commercial. Master Card asks Sox Fans .."How much would you pay for Sox tickets?"
