I have know idea what the beans and chocolate was supposed to mean, if anything.
Probably just some weird fantasy of Ken Russell's to see Ann Margret rolling around in the stuff.

It's interesting what age will do to your perspective.
I saw "Tommy" when I was 22 and thought it was really cool.
I watched it again about a year ago and thought it was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen.
Ann Margret rolling around in the chocolate and baked beans was kind of interesting.

Don't know much about the meaning of "Tommy" but I have heard that Pete Townsend said the movie got it all wrong.
The Broadway version is supposed to be closer to his original idea, whatever that might be.

That's a great picture and article, Hope.
Pressed Down opening for Crazy Horse. That's an interesting mix.
Here's a breaking news item for you Beatles fans,
LONDON (Reuters)January 10 - Police raids in England and the Netherlands on Friday recovered what could be about 500 original Beatles tapes that were stolen in the 1970s, including some never-released tracks.
British police said the tapes were "priceless," and that the only such recordings that have been heard before were bootlegs.
Dutch police, who recovered all the tapes in the Netherlands, agreed, but said they were still analyzing the material.
"We're currently investigating whether they really are the originals, but it appears to be so," said prosecutor spokesman Robert Meulenbroek in Amsterdam. "There are about 500 tapes, so there's quite a bit to research."
Five people were arrested in separate police raids in England and Holland. Their names were not immediately released.
The tapes contain what are known as the "Get Back" sessions, which were to become an album in 1969 before the project was shelved. Some of the songs, including "Get Back" itself, became part of the "Let It Be" album, said London police.

Now you will feel no rain
For each of you will be shelter to the other.
Now each of you will feel no cold
For each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no loneliness for you
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons
But there is one life before you.
May your days be good and long upon the earth.

It wasn't God that killed that little boy.
It was V.P. Wierwille,
That whole story was a crock.

Saw this yesterday at the IMAX Theater in Charleston, SC.
Awesome.
Seeing this animated film on a screen 60 feet high and 100 feet wide is an amazing experience. You literally feel like you're in the movie. Even if you're not exactly a fan of Disney movies, check this out if there's an IMAX theater in your area.
My kids loved it, even the 14 year old who thinks he's too old for cartoons.

Magens Bay, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
In the Virgins, the legend is if you live a good life, you get to spend eternity at Magens Bay. The most beautiful beach I've ever seen.
Of course I was there on my honeymoon, so that it made it memorable for some other reasons.

I think the longest running thread on the forums is that weird one about the 7th corps (sorry 7th Corps, I try to make heads or tails of it????). Anyhow, they are on page 8. Not sure about the ones in archive.
Not even close. The "real nostalgia thread" just started page 21.

I'm sure this is going to label me as an old fart, but is anybody else bothered by the lyrics of what passes for music these days? I don't consider myself a prude by any means, but some of the stuff I've heard lately make 60s rock sound like Sunday school songs.
When I was a teenager the big controversy was whether the Stones could sing "Let's Spend the Night Together" on the Ed Sullivan show and if the words to "Louie Louie" were really obscene. Now some of the lyrics that are out there would make a sailor blush.
The Beatles sang "I want to hold your hand" and Nine Inch Nails sing "I want to f**k you like a animal."
The Who sang "See me, feel me, touch me, heal me" and Nirvana sings "Rape me, rape me my friend, rape me again."
The Stones sang "I can't get no satisfaction" and Too Short sings "I can't get no p***y and I'm mad as hell."
The Beatles sang "Why don't we do it in the road" and Snoop Doggy Dog sings "we do it doggie style. He f**ked the fleas off the bitch."
Elvis sang "I'm all shook up" and the Beastie Boys sing "I'm all about screwing."
Elvis sang "I'll have a blue Christmas without you" and the Vandals sing "It's Christmas time for my penis."
The Grateful Dead sang "What I want to know is will you come with me?" and Eminem sings "You don't wanna f**k with me, girls leave, you ain't nothin' but a slut to me. Bitch I'm a kill you."
And this classic from Dr. Dre "Bitches ain't s**t but hoes and tricks."
Now it isn't the profanity that bothers me or even the sexual references. It's the constant reference to women as bitches, sluts, hoes, c**ts, and whatever else is the current slang. I have a 14 year old son who wants to listen to this stuff and that isn't the message I want him to get. Do teenage girls listen to this stuff or is it just guys?
I don't agree with censorship of any kind, but this does worry me. Now I can control what comes into my house, but I can't control what he hears somewhere else. Should I care? Is it just music, like I told my father, and the words don't matter?
Is it just typical of the current trend in our society?
Any thoughts?

These models are nice at look at, but who wants to cuddle up with one? Too many bones sticking out.
In the words of Kurt Vonnegut,
"A woman's body should feel like a hot water bottle filled with Devonshire cream, not a paper bag full of coat hangers."

If you want to see something on tv that's really degrading to women, check out "The Bachelor."
25 supposedly intelligent women throwing themselves at a guy in hopes of receiving a "marriage proposal" from him, knowing nothing about him except that he's a hunk and has money.
Very weird.

You sexist pig.
I can't believe you posted those pictures.
Got any more?

Have a great birthday, chinny.
Can I have a ride on your motorcycle?
-
Sure, I'll go see it with you, excathie.
I will admit that I've watched it on tv and thought some of the stuff was pretty funny and a lot of it was just stupid. I can't imagine 90 minutes of it.
-
You didn't actually pay real money to see this, did you?

Thanks, guys. I really appreciate all the good wishes.
Hey, Robin. It's been a long time since the good old days of Herbie's twig hasn't it?

President Merkin Muffley has one of the greatest movie lines of all time:
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room."

Johnny Unitas, the Hall of Fame quarterback who broke nearly every passing NFL record and won three championships with the Baltimore Colts in an 18-year career, died Wednesday of a heart attack. He was 69.
Unitas completed 2,830 of 5,186 passes for 40,239 yards and 290 touchdowns. He completed at least one touchdown pass in 47 straight games, a record that no one has come close to matching since it was set from 1956-60. He was Most Valuable Player three times and played in 10 Pro Bowls.

I had no idea Tim Curry had done so many cartoon voices.
That new "Family Affair" show he was in really stunk.
