  1. More quotes:

Doug Roberts: And they're celebrating... a party.

Chief O'Hallorhan: Party? What party? Where?

Doug Roberts: In the Promenade Room, 300 people.

Chief O'Hallorhan: Well why didn't you get them the hell out of there?

Doug Roberts: Why don't you go upstairs and talk to Duncan, he ain't exactly listening to me.

    Chief O'Hallorhan: I will.

  2. Everybody thought I had a duster. Y'all thought ol' Spindletop Burke and Burnett was all the oil there was, didn't ya? Well, I'm here to tell you that it ain't, boy! It's here, and there ain't a dang thing you gonna do about it! My well came in big, so big, Bick and there's more down there and there's bigger wells. I'm rich, Bick. I'm a rich 'un. I'm a rich boy. Me, I'm gonna have more money than you ever *thought* you could have - you and all the rest of you stinkin' sons of... Benedicts!

  3. James Duncan: Did you change Doug's electrical specifications?

Roger Simmons: I most certainly did.

James Duncan: For God's sake, why?

Roger Simmons: The reason should be obvious, especially to you.

James Duncan: We've got a fire, and if it was caused by anything you did I'm going to hang you out to dry, then I'm going to hang you.

  4. Well you promised to make the clue more twisted and actually made it less twisted! :P

That scene where he wants to spend an obscene amount of money just came into my mind!

A difficult one to book on the phone when it was in the cinemas because of time confusion.

    A revenge time for Mexico.

  5. Plus we were all so young. I was 23 when I was a wow. That's not far removed from college frat age. I remember, too, it only cost $150. to go, not 400.

    Never heard of inflation?

When I went WOW it was £50.00 - by comparison a packet of cigarettes was 30p-40p. Now they are between £6-£8 a pack.

As for petrol (gasoline) you could get a GALLON (8 imperial pints) for 50p now it's £1.38 a LITRE (4.454 of those to an imperial gallon).

Our first week's rent was £10.00 - now £150-200 is the average.

Just make your own US comparisons from your own experience!

I would say that the amount allowed now is nothing like the equivalent of then.

  6. 1st Jailer: [looking in records] Miriam, wife... Tirzah, daughter.

Drusus: Yes, that's them. Are they alive?

1st Jailer: [examining the records, he is pessimistic] East section... lower level. Cell two. The jailer in that wing will know.

[Drusus is led down various passages into the lower dungeons]

Drusus: How long since you've seen them?

2nd Jailer: Never - and I've been here three years. But they're alive, all right.

2nd Jailer: [after demonstrating a slot in the bottom of the cell door] The food disappears.

  7. OK then and it's NOT a musical! :)

She loves what you do for her, as my customers love what it is I do for them. But she does not love you David, she cannot love you. You are neither flesh, nor blood. You are not a dog, a cat, or a canary. You were designed and built specific, like the rest of us. And you are alone now only because they tired of you, or replaced you with a younger model, or were displeased with something you said, or broke. They made us too smart, too quick, and too many. We are suffering for the mistakes they made because when the end comes, all that will be left is us. That's why they hate us, and that is why you must stay here, with me.
