  1. Been a member of the "CHURCH" for many years. Never did make it for the annual gathering though, always say maybe next year. Got a lot of fond memories of the era, I watch the movie and listen to the record every year, Rollinganotherone.

But they all claim to be the best and say all others are inferior. Which is the best?

  3. In the last few months I did this to save.

1.) Downgraded my cable TV from $58.00 expanded cable to $15.00 basic cable, save $43.00 per month.

2.) Got rid of DSL internet, $29.95 down to $9.95 dial up, save $20.00 per month.

3.) Gave up cell phone $18.00 month emergency plan.

    SAVINGS - $91.00 per month. = $1092.00 per year

  4. I absolutely refuse to do any repair or sizing on jewelery bought at WallyWorld. You get exactly what you pay for, cheap light weight soft gold that will not wear properly. The price may be less than a Jewelry Store but when you look at the weight and quality you are actually paying more for it.

My brother-in-law bought his wife a diamond anneversary ring there and thought he got a great deal. I told him "yup, no way I can beat that price", "I don't even know where I can buy diamonds at that quality" lol. He just smiled, didn't get the sarcastic cut I gave him.

Ames, K-Mart, Sears, JC Penny, Walmart - Jewelry all the same.

What is in place to prevent somebody from voting via absentee or early voting and voting on election day?

I have been working with the town all week on absentee ballots.

A request comes in by phone and I bring an absentee application to the voter. The voter fills the application out and I return it to the town and they give me the absentee's ballot. I return to the voters house and wait for them to fill it out and place it in a sealed envelope and then I "NOTORIZE" it and return it to the town. The name of the voter is entered into the computer as voted. Envelopes are stored in a safe untill election day and then opened and counted. On election day a print out is made of all registered voters and it is noted on it if they have already voted absentee. When a voter walks into the polls they give their name and it is checked in the printout to see if they had already voted or not. That how we do it in Mexico Maine. All done by hand.

My first ROA, we camped out at the Sidney fairgrounds, had beer and pot in our tent...listening to Grateful Dead tapes. Things sure did change.

UH - Wish I had run into you there in 76, I was doing the same.

Never seen so many flies in my life.

  7. When I was a youngster I had a job cleaning the grandstand at the county fair and part of the pay was free tickets to the big shows. I saw the following for free.

    1963 - Bobby Vinton - "Blue Velvet"

1964 - Gary Lewis and the Playboys - "This Diamond Ring"

1965 - Sam The Sham and the Pharaohs- "Little Red Ridding Hood".

A couple of years ago Bob Dylan did a bennifit show to keep a small auditorium open in Maine, he said it was one of his favorite to perform in. I had donated a small amount of money to help keep it open and had an opportunity to purchase front row dinner table seats to his show because of it.

Dylan was to host a dinner party before the performance and only 100 people were to attend and he was to sit and chat at each table. The price was $300.00 each. My wife said I could go without her because of the cost and I almost did it. I ended up buying two tickets at $75.00 each, the most I ever spent on a concert.

I have seen Dylan 6 times.

It's a miracle there wasn't a huge forest fire as well OE...so close to the bush!!

Fortunately they had two weeks of rain up in PEI and the woods were very wet. Some of the trees were burned a little but still it amazed me that the whole forest didn't burn.

The RCMP were extreemely nice to me and acted like normal people, not like the tough police talk lingo you hear in the States.
