  1. Mstar,

A VOICE OF AN ANGEL.. she is actually spoken of in the circles of Nashville as such. I was introduced to Alison some 10-15 yrs ago... I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I have seen her twice in concert now and the last time she ended to concert with the Living Prayer song ... done I believe with only 3 guys from the band and a spotlight. Not a dry eye in the room. She says that these Ron Block songs are her favourite and it shows...because she sings them with such great conviction.

And she is quite the accomplished fiddle player. She did win (I think) the USA fiddle championship.

You can't go wrong with Alison, in my books!

and... I LOVE THAT OLLABELLE... KOOL!

  2. Act 2,

I have a wonderful song for you appropriate for graduation... it's called : MAY I SUGGEST by Susan Werner...

I wasn't able to find anything on youtube and I can't remember how to post songs... from my itunes... so i'll just post the lyrics for now.

If someone can remind me of how it's done..by all means...

    MAY I SUGGEST

    Susan Werner

    May I suggest

    May I suggest to you

May I suggest this is the best part of your life

    May I suggest

This time is blessed for you

This time is blessed and shining almost blinding bright

    Just turn your head

    And you'll begin to see

The thousand reasons that were just beyond your sight

    The reasons why

    Why I suggest to you

Why I suggest this is the best part of your life

    There is a world

    That's been addressed to you

Addressed to you, intended only for your eyes

    A secret world

Like a treasure chest to you

Of private scenes and brilliant dreams that mesmerise

    A lover's trusting smile

    A tiny baby's hands

The million stars that fill the turning sky at night

    Oh I suggest

    Oh I suggest to you

Oh I suggest this is the best part of your life

    There is a hope

    That's been expressed in you

The hope of seven generations, maybe more

    And this is the faith

    That they invest in you

It's that you'll do one better than was done before

    Inside you know

    Inside you understand

Inside you know what's yours to finally set right

    And I suggest

    And I suggest to you

And I suggest this is the best part of your life

    This is a song

Comes from the west to you

Comes from the west, comes from the slowly setting sun

    With a request

    With a request of you

To see how very short the endless days will run

    And when they're gone

    And when the dark descends

Oh we'd give anything for one more hour of light

And I suggest this is the best part of your life

  3. Mstar,Sweet... Nickel Creek.. I have their albums... i was sadden when they split up... but their albums are impeccable... produced by no other than Alison Krauss.. you can certainly hear her influence in their music...with that said.. lets do some alison ... Ok...the second song.. .written by the guitarist next to her... Ron Block has written the MOST beautiful Christian songs I have ever HEARD... get the kleenex out!

  4. wow JOE Fair... now there's a name a haven't heard in a long long long time! these ladies... well... they're just different and soooo interesting... The Be Good Tanyas.. .enjoy!

  5. wow...

mstar... you just can't ever get enough of ella and satchmo... they were in a league all of their own...

thanks for thinking of me this morning... nice smooth harmonica playing...

I might be seeing Leo K this summer!

    and Doc Watson... toooooo cool!

  6. Mstar...

You get my two thumbs up on that Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee video!!! That's a taste of the REAL genuine stuff...

Bluesing my little happy soul away here!

    Thanks encore...beaucoup!

  7. Chatty why the face???and mr. satori... yes.. you have beared your soul here... wow... i've got to do this more often!!!I'm assuming the song that spoke to you lyrically was the second song??? the one with the fairy like person at the beginning of the video? and Dooj... OMG... crank it up??? oh ... now she has competition... a monster has been created :o interesting... as I was typing this.. i read this advertisement just above this box here that said... BE PART OF JESUS.interesting way to put it.things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................ok... morning post... Joann.. there is interesting art in this video - pour toi.. enjoy!

  8. Satori,

the 5 last videos you posted were all canadian musicians... are you trying to tell us something? is there a theme?

the videos you posted before the last 5 i feel reveal something about you mr. satori. interesting.

  9. Catcup,

This Randy Ginn you speak of... is not Canadian. His wife is though. He and his wife were coordinators here in Canada for years.

Up here in Canada, Mr. Ginn also left a path of destruction wherever he 'pastored'. I know for a fact that many Canadians including myself were almost destroyed because of this monster.

Thanks for being so open and forthright here. It is refreshing ... unlike some people who feel they need to write lofty spiritual books.

  10. MMMM.... Gordy... Now... one of the hardest things to do is to find early Gordon Lightfoot on youtube...since video's weren't the thing when Lightfoot was making his music... most of the stuff is much older Gordon... Now I found .. Mountains and Marianne... that someone used on video of their road trip... hope you enjoy.Early Lightfoot...nothing like it... he recorded albums as early '65

  11. There's a gazillion songs I could post of Van's ... but this song... The Beauty of Days Gone By... just gets me ... right to the bottom of my socks...it's not the greatest of videos... but the audio is still pretty good.enjoy...

  12. Soooo much music...so little time...sighMr. Music Man,Thanks for the posts...I found this... this is something I had albums of and listened to tons of a while back. This David Greenberg played for a string emsemble called Tafelmusik which plays on period instruments and does Baroque music. David then branched out and incorporated Classical with Celtic. His first album was called From Bach to Cape Breton. Interesting approach... breeching the two types of music.

  13. Dooj... wow...intense song...

I had never SEEN it performed.. of course owned the album and all but to see him sing it.. Too COOL

    andloved the CSN

And dougie... loved it... the pretenders!

  14. Mr. Music Man.. nice to see you here in these neck of the woodsWas watching some videos tonight and got thinking about you... Nickel Creek to be exact! Here's someone we haven't formally introduced around here yet ( I don't think we have anyway)...

This is Gary Louris, lead singer to the Jayhawks

  18. Nice videos MR. '73 ... I have been pondering Dylan for some time now... And I forgot to mention here that it was Dougie who got me on this Dylan thingy... so he's to blame.. :wink2: Bryan Adams has had a remarkable musical career. He's a canuck too! :P Here's my all-time favourite Bryan Adam's song:
