  1. "hate" ??? ...but maybe if more than a couple show up they'd have fun... niKa's little ones seemed to find enough to do last year... they could play "rake the yard" or help chase the squirrels along the fence ledge...

  2. Okay... it just sounded a little like one because of the mention of the male bovine excrement... it doesn't seem like (on the surface) a ban-able offense, but then it sounds like you reacted kind of harshly...

like I said, it's not proper etiquette (and no, I don't know if that's really how it's spelled) and it sounds like they just fixed it and told you... that's all...

It just seems like a lot of folks (not just you) seem to be reacting in a rather extremely dramatic fashion to a little moderation lately... again, not trying to single out you... it seems to be happening all over the place

  3. Well... it's not really proper etiquette to mention a PM and who sent it (if that's what happened)... if that's all the "warning" was about I really don't see what the big deal is...

If you didn't know it was proper etiquette then you didn't know, if you did then you did... either way it doesn't seem like something to get all worked up about...

It doesn't seem like you did anything of the sort that got Bumpy banned (from what I understand) so why include him in your tirade?

    but that's just me...

  4. I know everybody's experience wasn't the same, but as for me, I did what I wanted to do when I joined the way international, while I was in the way international, and when I left the way international...

I know Simon, and it was that way for a lot of folks... but we now know that it wasn't that way for a lot of other folks... did they let you have a nice old orange truck in TWI?

  5. I think the aliens are already here... they've just discovered a different dimension to travel (and live in)... a dimension that we are not quite aware of yet... Chariots of the Gods makes a lot more sense to me than a great number of books... maybe the only way that intellectually primitive man could explain these beings was to give them 'godlike' status? ..and they must have had wings or they couldn't have flown could they? ...and the bubbles they had around their heads to protect them from our atmosphere, when looked at reflected a circle at the top from the sun, a halo?

    oh... they're here all right...

now, as to the space station? and NASA in general? ...it could probably be done a lot cheaper in the private sector ...and they're farming more of it out, at least according to the latest Penn & Teller segment...

  6. Here is the response I received from the reporter.

The subject line was: Told ya again

The article was not meant to promote, or indict The Way. And it did not.

If I wrote a story about a football player and his Catholicism, that would not guarantee that it would include an investigation of the Catholic church, predatory priests, or the behavior of archdioceses on the local and/or national, global levels.

Those would be investigative stories about The Way, and the Catholic church.

This story was neither. It was a story about Michael Johnson and his faith.

    Sincerely,

    Matt Winkeljohn

I know it's a futile effort... but I think I would have replied: "If it was about his faith, then how come almost half the article deals with either TWI, it's class or his parents involvement with TWI???"

It was an article about a young man and his religion...

    but that's just me...

  7. Tom, I saw where your boy that got called up from AAA got a homerun and three hits in his first game w/ the stRangers...Now, with the glut of hitting that the stRangers already have, why doesn't management shop around a young fella like that as trade bait for some front-line pitching?...

We probably will... and we have a few "young fellas like that"! But I don't think they'll shop any of the core players... they'll deal... but they're not giving away the farm any more... (at least that's what they're saying) ...you have to remember that besides our minor league pitching staff, only Young, Kinsler and Laird (of the everyday position players) are not rookies, call ups or in their first full season of MLB... (didn't include Bradley cuz he mostly DHs, when he's not hurt)

  8. Thankfully at least Fenway doesnt have one of those gawdawful annoyance machines around the deck that they have near everywhere now

give em time starman... it's extra revenue doncha know? ...and since they're keeping Fenway (they are aren't they?) ..it's sadly only a matter of time until...

I do have to admit though that, while at the game in Anaheim, I sorta kinda did enjoy when the rally monkey made his appearance on the big screen... don't know how it is for the regulars but for a one time visitor it was funny...

Now that the stRangers have collapsed there are reports that Millwood, Padilla and Catalanotto have cleared waivers...

  9. Oh T Loy B... you poor child... yes, we in Texas do know of your poor substitution of Pork for Beef.... and I know they do that in the mid-atlantic states and the states to the north and east... but that's just Ham with barbecue sauce...

  10. You mean anthropods? (i.e. spiders?)

Yes, but I'm afraid spiders wouldn't be very tasty when steamed and dipped in drawn butter.

If the clams tasted like erasers they were probably clam strips - without the bellies - and/or overcooked.

    no... I meant cockroaches!

...and where I had the fried clams was when I lived on the Jersey shore...

  11. they are one of the universal proofs that there is a God,

    and that he loves us....

hmmm... I thought that was beer...

Lobster I'm okay with (although you do know their genetic cousins don't you)... but clams? I think I had some fried clams once and they tasted like little erasers... was something being done wrong?

  12. I would choose Chavez Ravine over Anaheim as well... I sat about even with 3rd base on and the seats/view were nice but CR just seems so "nice"... whether behind the dugout or in the bleachers... just a nice baseball experience... we've got the wive's company seats here that are on the third and fourth row by the 3rd base batters box... great seats but (as I've said before) just to dang hot...
