  1. I don't want to throw anyone here into cardiac arrest... but... the stRangers beat Seattle yesterday 1-0.

That's the first time they've won a 1-0 ballgame at home since 2000.

That's the second time this year that Teagarden has gotten the start behind the plate... the result of both games? 1-0 wins. hmmm

I hope nobody needed the paddles...

  2. I'll defer to you on that hiway, sounds like he's been on fire and sparked the team as well... but I don't think they'll give it to him for only a partial year...

CC has been killer for the Brewers.. even though he's not an everyday player he has sparked that team... but he probably won't get either the MVP or the CY...

And although Edinson Volquez has been great in Cincy... it's more than likely going to go to Rocky and Simon's boy doncha think? Not many this year have been as strong and consistent as Webb has...

  3. I guess my only question is, was he offered the A&M job before or after the other gig?

    George

(There's the makings of a great Aggie joke, here.)

HA HA... I thought you were going to say "was he offered the A&M job before or after a losing season"

  4. well... that's good news for him and BoSox fans (bad news for the rest of the AL!)

but if it still hurts or doesn't feel right... it's got to affect him doesn't it? It sure would me... I'd be thinking maybe there was nothing wrong then but it sure feels like there is now... maybe the rest was what he needed... didn't he take a little time off in August or September last year? i.e. Francona rested him...

  5. OK... so it had Jennifer Love Hewitt's very nice "persona" in it... but I don't know the show, I never watched any of those shows... or at least don't remember watching them!

...although I do watch "Ghost Whisperer" but I don't think that's it...

OK... I just looked it up... (so I can't guess)... bad last clue! bad wabbit!

  6. Good for Taylor

Ive never seen him-- but Ive heard nothing but good about that kid.

were you noticing his game calling at all?

of course with the Rangers staff as it is I suppose it would be very hard to tell if it was a plus or minus

I think... as with a lot of teams these days... that the pitches were called from the dugout.

Sadly... as you said... after Harrison got pulled it didn't matter... but that Harrison kid shows some promise... nice lefty.

Any news back from Alabama regarding BecKKKKKKet's elbow?

  7. I think I failed this!

Answer was nothing like what I think I am. Ha ha.

But I do know that I have mellowed out A LOT since I left a rather strident organisation and started to relax and enjoy life again.

I am the "caring, nurturing" type (10) follwed by "intuitive and reserved" (7) :biglaugh: , a lousy reformer and a lousy thinker :biglaugh::biglaugh: .

But maybe I'll be something different tomorrow or a different time of day. Heck, anyone who knows me wouldn't exactly call me "reserved". And they would say that I "think too much".

Twinky... caring, nurturing and intuitive and reserved were exactly how I had you "pegged" at least from my experiences with you last year at the BBQ!

I clicked on the link and started the test. But on about question #3 it became obvious to me it was a feeley meeley "test" that meant nothing. Not to say these kinds of things aren't fun... they just have no validity.

    sudo

OK then... let's take IQ tests and compare scores! :biglaugh:

  8. Good for you! I bet that Joaquin really appreciated that gesture... humans caring for humans is good (said in Mongo voice)

And good for rewarding the workers and teaching the slackers a lesson!

  9. Remember that some GS-ers need to remain anonymous, so a webcam is probably out.

    George

...but GSG ...we're talking about Twinky here... she's already seen all of us...

Regarding the Skype thing... I just looked at it and we can probably figure that out Twinky.. and my laptop has a built-in webcam...

now we just have to find someone to bring the beer!

  10. Dbacks' SS Stephen Drew has gone 5 for 5, hit for the cycle with an extra double thrown in for good measure.

Then that makes two cycles today... Beltre (so far) has gone 5 for 5 and hit for the cycle here as well... unfortunately he plays for SEA and it's now 12-6 them... :(

  11. After chatting with ex10 last night and learning from her that my alma mater, Texas Tech, is about to lose it's accredation :( , and then reading the latest posts here, I just popped in to say that John Denver was a Tech alumnus.

Back to the regularly schedules posts.

    See you'uns at the barbecue!!

and he grew up (at least went to high school) in FW... see ya in November...

    Just come Twinky!

  12. Teagarden just got called back up with the expanded rosters... Salty was catching and Laird has the day off... Mom and Dad sitting in the owner's box with El Presidente...

Top of the fifth Salty aggrevates a groin that's been bothering him all year... young Taylor is called in from the bullpen where he was ready to warm 'em up...

Bottom of the fifth young Taylor hits a 430 foot homerun to almost dead center with two on to put the stRangers up 6-4...

After it quiets down a little Momma Teagarden turns around and hands something to El Presidente... "have you ever seen an Olympic Medal Mr. Ryan?"

good for him... it's his first MLB appearance at home (he grew up locally)... so now, he's got two MLB hits... both home runs... (the other was an away game before he went to 'the games')

so.. for a while we're ahead...

  13. that's a great story Jonny... (really)... donate that $100 to REACH! ...or give it back to Joaquin, really! I bet you could really make his eyes light up! ...and the dude could probably use it!
