  1. D'oh! (That's not a quote...but if it were, it would have been Homer Simpson...)

D'oh! again...I tried to edit the above post so that the honeysuckle quotation was removed. I posted it in the wrong thread, should be in the movies thread. So, how bout this:

    "Why? Because we like you!"

  2. Bless me fodder, for I have sinned...

    Lost in Space

If it has to do with me, ask me...no need to guess...and just to avoid confusion, here's the missing quotation marks from my flubbed attempt above. " "

    Practical application:

"How could I have known that murder can sometimes smell like honeysuckle."

"How could I have known that murder can sometimes smell like honeysuckle."

  3. speaking in tongues

language is invented, any language anywhere...wherever it is, this it has in common...it is communication

humans (one of which I is) are wonderful this way...we are programmed to connect, communicate, somehow with someone

God is not a west European, Alexander Scourby-type, who speaks in dosts and thous

Shakespeare did, tho, and the King James was of that time...ergo we speaketh with the holy "lithp" and deem it scriptural.

Very heady. Very thilly. Very us, thumb times.

Having made part of my living with words, I find the whole s.i.t. thing amazingly leap of faithy and I likes it. Why?

Becuz just between you and Him, you are giving voice (if aloud at all) in a way only He can decipher and catalogue.

It takes the cognizant me out of my prayers and frees up alot of time for Him to do other things.

I do not sit cross-legged on a mountaintop buzzing the magic ohm...but, on occasion, often actually, I switch my

prayer from perfect MLA form to "here Lord, you take it...lo shonta fest."

It is liberating...otherwise my prayers would and could weigh down Atlas himself.

The Way and s.i.t. is a whole 'nother thing.

How incredibly wonderful to want to know and instruct others also...but how despicable to dupe others knowingly.

I have to remind myself that I really have seen signs, miracles, and wonders in my life...

I never thought that I would "explain away" things I have known in my own life and experience...

I long to know the hands down truth of it all one day...and reclaim the joy

...and when I pray, I find huge comfort in the fact that when my words fail me, my heart and spirit click into gear.

Faith is an oasis in the heart which will never be reached by the caravan of thinking...KG said that, and along with the verse in Hebrews...I am ready to relearn and embrace the joy of believing.

  4. 50 or 60 guests...what an opportunity...

first, have each guest offer their hardy congrats and momular salutations at the door

second, have each drop a dollar or two in a travel bag...then BOLT!...no, no, no...I meant to say...

third, take the bag to the bank and invest it in something worthwhile (there's the rub) and forget about it til Hillary finally wins or baby is college age...

    or

have each guest bring something alcoholic...and I don't mean of the human variety...tea tottlers can bring ice and silly little drink umbrellas...

by the time the 50th guest is there, you should have enuf stuff for a fine (or at least eventful) shower and a heckuva new year's fling...or baby christening extravaganza...

    or

my favorite...have guests bring their own baby picture, put em all in a box, and when the appropriate time comes to play dumb games,

try to match whose belongs to whom...what a panic....especially if the baby pic you bring isn't anyone anyone knows....

note: this one works really well when the aforementioned second option is imbibed in for a specified period

    or

take scrap pieces of patterened silk (from ties or castaway blouses) and cut them in tidy squares,

wrap the squares around the boiled egg and let soak in a vinegar solution

    oh poop!

that was the Martha Stewart easter egg thing...but y'know that might still be a fun idea on any old day when you just don't know what to do with your old silk stuff...hmmm

  5. Golly, Mishter Wishard!

Simply and awesomely done, doable, and being implemented. Amazing.

The format of the study is great...like a science experiment. Being funded (by the Brits no less) is commendable and that initial control distribution to Guyana is targeted, is life giving. (I've come to understand why people "got old" so much faster in generations gone by...one reason being that you are totally relagated to function within your sphere of vision...you can't see, you don't do...)

Now, how could America capitalize on this you might ask?

Do a reality survival show, of course. Palin wear vs. Silver wear...somewhere between Guyana and Alaska or

The cartoon network could produce a show with a geek guyanese guy wearing self-adjustable sight savers as the unlikely super-hero trying to get the other geeky third worlders to see things his/her way...

Bravo channel could arrange for a falling star...say, Urkel... to endorse them and make geekwear a happening thing...

James Lipton could interview the star that made it so...

Oprah would underwrite the book deal and give geekware to all the studio audience...

QVC would come out with designer geek by adding a blob of tape to the middle to keep them together...

The Daily Show would highlight them, Colbert would sport them as a lark...SNL would satirize the importance of anyone not saavy enuf to wear them

and responding to the importance of it all, the newest Fox show, Desperate Guyanese Houseboys, would be born...

Without glasses, I am severly diminished....without coffee and glasses, I am doomed.

  6. Mein Duff...heil! You are the onliest duffster I know and hold great fondness for. (the only place I can dangle participles and not get reamed...)

It's the only puter space I visit, and in years of late, post on. Purely selfish on my part. But it (this place) has often been a happy respite for the ~, even if relatively infrequently.

    You da man.

    All you mod-types...thank you.

    Shellbert! Woweekazowee...:)

My e-addy is the only thing I think that's listed on the profile thing...it's current...and any story I may have told in this cyberland over the years are true. Honest native-American.

  7. Shellbert, you little sweetie...

You will cause me to be literate...what's up with that? :)

The subject come-on made me come-in...that and the topictakeagandererstarter is you.

It's a question I have to build up my stamina for before I really answer it (to and) for myself.

Happy Seasonal Wonderments attend thee, toots...mmmwwaa!

  8. ok booboos...skewz me if I am being redundant...but here's the 'tilda take...

Currently have an '04 Honda Civic Hybrid...60g mi...would get another in a heartbeat. It is a good little 5 passenger car that gets about 40 mpg.

I work very close...he used to work far away...it was the right thing to do.

We have outgrown the Dodge Caravan, but we still have it...if our numbers come up, we'd retire it (or give it away) and replace it with another Honda...either a Civic, or Accord, Hybrid.

Even prior to owning a hybrid, we had a regular Honda (Accord)...a very, very good car.

Before they became altogether status etc., I used to have Volvos...(that's volvo)...they are wonderful cars, but pricey...worth it if you can afford the upkeep. The safety factor alone is worth great consideration. My first legal car was a Volvo...I have fond memories.

  9. Cindy!

How did that happen? I suppose the "butt-pincher" would get arrested for being a lecherous old lady now...lol.

The brood is very comely...the best of both of you. Darn kids...like looking at yourself...and being reminded how pressing youth is, and wonderfully optimistic, often.

The goils is so pretty...and da boyz handsome. I feel like the fat aunty at the family gathering ruminating how big they all are...and "I remember you when you were just a rumor," or "I knew you when you were just a peanut."

Holly will be 12 in a few daze...again...how did that happen?

It could have been more shameless if it really wasn't my burpday...but it was (already past tense...eek...relentless time, cares nothing for nobody in its own pursuit to engulf itself).

Satori...your once-a-year nod gives my inner child someone to play with...I love you., you always give me a leg up.

Billy...you are the gentlemen soul of compassion...you make me want to be nice alot more.

sweet kitty Hopefull ...the bonds of chat-rimony are still valid in my state...

Mark - yeppers...Chocolate Pillai...the "orientatlism" of giving at your own party :)
