    His death accomplished nothing? icon_eek.gif

The Bible teaches he was the lamb of God, unblemished. The perfect sacrifice.

His death atoned for our sins. This is the reason he laid down his life. He died to pay for our sins. We were justified by his blood. By his stripes we were healed.

This is a very basic teaching in the Bible.

I could list many verses, but one of my favorites is in Hebrews: "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God".

Many have died for their stand on God's Word, but none of them were the "Son of God". Big difference. None of the others "became sin" for us. None of the others bore our sins. They could not because they were not sinless, like Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:10--For if when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him THROUGH THE DEATH OF HIS SON....

Romans 4:25--he was delivered over to death for our sins.

Ephesians 1:7-- In him we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins..

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.

Ephesians 2:16--And in this one body to reconcile both of them(Jews and Gentiles) to God THROUGH THE CROSS,by which he put to death their hostility.

Col.1:20...and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven,by making peace THROUGH HIS BLOOD, SHED ON THE CROSS.

  2. Dot-

I havent seen the movie, but I can assure that:

    1. Christ will be crucified between "two" men.

    2. Peter will deny Christ "three" times.

    3. Christ will be carrying a "cross".

Didnt you know that only Wayfers, former Wayfers, and Bullinger know the accuracy of the Word. icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

Seriously, I'm sure the movie will show the "traditionally accepted" version of what happened. That's ok though. It's really only the message that really matters.

  3. I agree with QQ about the point of the movie. I think seeing it would fill me with gratitude toward Jesus Christ because of what he did for me.

Especially knowing that I did not deserve for him to go through all that for me.

I think it will definitely glorify God and Jesus by showing their incredible love for us.

MJ-without his death there would be no ressurection or Pentecost or new birth. Without his death our sins would not be paid for--and everything else would be irrelevent.

It was Christ's "death" that saved us from "death". This movie shows what Christ saved us from. And what he "chose" to endure for our sakes.

ps. what the heck are "the sins of mankind(that includes us)that put the stripes on his back" ?

It was because of our sin that Jesus had to be beaten and killed. He was killed as a sacrifice for our sins.

We "were" identified with Adam. Now we are identified with Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:12-- Therefore just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men because "all" sinned.

Any human, put in Adam's place would have done the same thing.

Romans 4:25--He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Romans 5:8--But God demonstates His love for us in that while "we were still sinners" Christ died for us.

But there is no reason to have any guilt at all because just as we were originally identified with Adam, once you accept Christ as yous savior, you are identified with Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified through faith "WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD" through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I know that being "born in sin" dosen't sound fair, but I also know that God is just and fair.

It's like when people ask me what is going to happen to people who never heard of Christ. Well, I dont know what will happen to them, but I know God is love and God is just. So, I have no need to worry about them.

    Hope I helped a little.

  5. "The Passion", a movie by Mel Gibson.

"The Passion" is the most beautiful, profound, accurate, disturbing, realistic, and bloody depiction of this story that has ever been filmed.

Jim Caviezal may be the best "Jesus" ever(not counting the original).

This is not a date film. The rough cut I saw contains graphic scenes. Including the seemingly endless scourging of Jesus. The crucifixion scene is long, bloody, and painful to watch. Several audience member wept. The film will probably earn an "R" rating for violence.

"The Passion" should not be labeled a "religious" film, or something only to be shown in church basements. "The Passion" is a work of high art and great storytelling. Few liberties are taken with the gospel account. And the extra dialogue added helps round out the characters without damaging historical or Biblical accuracy.

The film is an intense two hours. It uses unknown characters which helps focus attention on the message. By the end of the film(a unique portrayal of the resurrection) the audience is exhausted. It is a soul stirring film that deserves wide distribution and viewing.

It's message is not just for Christians, but for everyone. I doubt a better film about Jesus could be made.

This film is not out yet.

  6. Richard Schulze is excellent. Listen to Rottie.

There is an excellent called "Ultimate Cleanse" by Nature's Secret. Real simple. Just follow instructions on box.

Excessive itching can be a sign of a systemic yeast infection(candidiasis). It is a result of antibiotics killing all the good bacteria in the intestines. And eating too much sugar and refined carbs.

Go to a search engine and type in Candidiasis to learn more. It is very common. Other symptoms include poor disgestion, bad memory, skin problems, fatigue, coated tongue and tons more.

I am working on getting rid of it right now.

Must eat no sugar, yeast(bread, except yeast free), no refined carbs, low carbs in general, no fruit(sugar).

It's tough, but can be done with commitment.

You also may want to go to a search engine and type in "Natural treatment for candidiasis".

  7. How do you know when it's time to clean house and do the dishes?

If you look in your pants and see a penis, it's not time.

    Q. What's the difference a Catholic wife and a Jewish wife?

    A. A Catholic wife has real orgasms and fake jewelry.

    Q. Why did God create yeast infections?

    A. So that women would ALSO know what it's like to live with an irritating cun*.

  8. Yeah, my impression for as long as I can remember was that the "more abundant life" meant prosperity in every realm, including the material realm. Now I believe Jesus meant an abundant life in the spiritual realm.

Isnt it in Hebrews where it talks about believers going around in sheepskins and living in caves etc, of whom the world was not worthy? Sounds like they were great believers, but definitely not living in great material abundance.

Your articles of the pros and cons of the blue book should be read by anyone who left twi and is still interested in the Word. Your writing is very balanced.

  9. Raf-

Read thru your writings on the Blue Book. Good job. I enjoyed them both.

One thing I did not agree with is the part where you say that VPW equates the more abundant life with materialism. I didnt see that at all. It seems that you "read into" his statement. He very well could have meant it in a material way, but never made it clear. "I looked around me and saw..." It makes sense that this would indicate he was talking about material possesionsl, but not necessarily. Maybe he saw more fulfilled relationships, better family lives, more fulfilled lives. I think your assesment is probably true, but it is still an assumption on your part.

Not trying to defend VPW and not trying to discredit you in any way. Just a little constructive critique. And I emphasize the word "constructive". AS I said before, both articles were excellent.
