  1. Long gone are the days when wierwille could hide behind the mask of revisionist history. Anyone who wants to know details, timelines, and hard-hitting facts can research the past. Mrs. Wierwille's book, Born Again to Serve, gives us plenty to dispel the myths. Tragedy, sadness and death at the wierwille farm [p.12] Vpw disliked conformity of riding school bus....got a motorcycle in high school [p.16] The wierwilles married in secret to bypass seminary code regulations [p.28] On July 6, 1941....vpw installed as minister for St. Jacob's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Payne, Ohio [p.33] In June 1944, wierwilles move to Van Wert, Ohio....bigger church, St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church [p.45] Wierwille attends E. Stanley Jones Ashram in North Carolina....in July 1944 [p.48] On July 28, 1948....wierwille gets "doctorate" from degree-mill Pikes Peak Seminary in Manitou Springs, Colorado [p.67] In February 1953....vpw sits thru B.G. Leonard's class "The Gifts of the Spirit" in Calgary, Alberta [p.91] Etc. etc...... Wierwilles leave the denominational church in August 1957 [p.216] On December 19, 1957.....wierwilles run first meeting of "The Way, Inc." [p.219] Back in the 70's.......wierwille bloviated over his calling, accomplishments, credentials, etc. but a thorough study shows the real picture. Incrementally and strategically, wierwille was an opportunist. He utilized plagiarism, a degree-mill seminary, and a stolen class to gain a small portion of accreditation. Yet, even then.......adults were not easily fooled by these tactics. Thus, wierwille's target was the youth. Once off the church payroll, wierwille struggled immensely for nearly 15 years [1957-1972] to garner a following. I contend that wierwille's "career accomplishments" had 3 segments: 16 years on church payroll.....in Payne and Van Wert, Ohio [1941-1957] 14 years struggling to build a following and pay the bills [1958-1972] 10 years of exceeding growth, prosperity and adulation [1972-1982] It wasn't until March 1972.....when wierwille swooped in and grabbed Doop's and Hefner's ministry work......that transformed twi into a youth movement. Mrs. Wierwille's book documents the struggles and challenges. Even people who sat in wierwille's live classes in 1961, 1962, 1963, etc......did NOT stick. They sat thru his class, but then went back to their church. Time and again, wierwille pleads in his mailing list to stay faithful to his ministry and TITHE WEEKLY. Even when pfal was filmed in 1967, wierwille was struggling mightily to stay ahead of the bills for the studio, lighting, furniture. Some regard "The Red Thread" as one of wierwille's best teachings......yet, it was plagiarized from Rev. Oral Roberts. Was wierwille so spiritually bankrupt that even at the tail end of his ministry years he still had to plagiarize from others? Yep. Stolen teachings. Stolen classes. Stolen glory. So, really......only about 10 years of a thriving ministry until wierwille retired in October 1982 and handed the reins over to Martindale. When wierwille stepped off-stage.....the power conflicts began in earnest. Subtle at first.....but nonetheless, they were there. The top-tier leaders were staking their claims to their regions. Geer was in Europe. Former corps coordinators had gained measurable influence. Wierwille died and twi splintered a hundred ways. Research the facts.......stop the indoctrination.
  2. Yeah, Rocky......good to "see" you too.
  3. " I posted a short clip in the open forum that deals with cult life on the other side of the world. The parallels are frighteningly sad.' Waysider........that South Korean cult video shows the same tactics and trappings of all cults. Global exploitation and death traps......CULTS ARE EVERYWHERE.
  4. Yeah, manipulated and isolated from family, friends and career advancements. With each deception, one is led into classes and programs that FURTHER target you with isolation, dependence and exploitation. The WOW program was a one-year commitment to a certain city to witness and run pfal classes. Any involvement with local fellowships and believers was prohibited. Under no circumstances were WOWs allowed to "leave the field".....i.e. weddings, funerals. Fellow-Laborers and Way Corps training were far more intense.....and isolating. Imagine, involvement in an isolated cult for 15-25 years? Yikes! Some of the recent corps leaders exited in 2017.......after 45 years in this toxic environment. And, now........THEY want to establish other splinter cults.
  5. In my opinion, nothing cuts through twi-nostalgia faster than the blunt facts-on-the-ground. So often, people wonder why way corps throw in the towel.......and walk away. Lots of reasons, I'm sure.......but the increased burdens and hardships mounted incessantly from 1978 and onward. When wierwille mandated to ALL CORPS an extra week of work/service to the annual pilgrimage of the rock of ages festival .....IT WAS THE BEGINNING OF THE END. Wierwille's narcissism blinded him from seeing it coming. Here at GreaseSpot Cafe.....have you noticed that, most always, the greatest wierwille-apologists are NOT CORPS. They spout how wierwille "walked with God" and his teachings were incredible. Yet, they never delve into the realities and burdens of these religious mandates. Despite wierwille's plagiarism, sexual predation, research foibles, private indoctrination, manipulation and exploitation, etc. ..... wierwille and top-tier leaders didn't have a clue of the daily lives of these followers/corps. The blunt facts-on-the-ground... "Going to the Rock and Corps Week was a major ordeal. V.P. wrote a letter to the Corps saying his heart was broken that so many Corps left prior to the Rock. His words were, "Corps...if you can't stand with me at the Rock, then don't bother coming to Corps Week either. If your job won't let you to, quite your job!" Then he said something about wavering in our believing. So, to pull that off, one had to get a job that gave you 3 weeks vacation a year. It takes about 3 days to drive from Idaho to Ohio, 2 weeks at HQ, 3 days to drive back. It took money to fly, which meant you had to have a good job, which few of us did. So tell me where a person can get a job that gives them 3 weeks off a year right off the bat. Yet, if one was on staff, you were given time for Rock and Corps Week, plus given two weeks vacation a year. Then one day visiting clergy came to the state. One of the Corps Coordinators and taught a seminar on government. Oooh! Now that's certainly worth a 9-hour trip! Afterwards, he meets with the Corps and asks us why more Corps don't come to Way Family Camps. It was then I realized that TWI leadership was completely out of touch with what was going on out on the field. For the first time in my 10-year involvement in TWI, I'm starting to get disgruntled. Then, to top it off, I received a letter from Donald Wierwille. He's mad because the College Division Alumnae who were also Corps Grads (me) were not attending special College Division functions. He went as far as to say we had "attitude problems". I worked 12-hour days at the Rock, man, for free! In fact, I paid my own way to get there. One year I sold my car just to have enough to go and listen to "God's Word Served on a Silver Platter" for the like the 15th time. Now here's this guy in his ivory tower issuing smart-assed accusations about something of which he knows nothing. I was ....ed! I was considering writing a nasty letter back and weighing whether it was worth getting kicked out of the Corps over. I doubt I would have had the guts to really do it, but I was on my way. It became a moot point about a week later because that's when Geer read Passing of the Patriarch for the first time. I sort of thought that Dean Don may be somewhat busy at that point. So, there you have it."
  6. Wierwille's "ministry" and legacy is in the trash bin of history. For 20 years, GSC has shown the evil face behind its mask. Labeling the stolen class [from Rev. B.G. Leonard] as "Power for Abundant Living"........was a marketing ploy. Wierwille was a thief and had to take his stolen goods to a *chop shop* to strip and alter the vehicle to something else.......to disguise the theft. He used deception with ease, without guilt or shame. Labeling his church building "The Way Biblical Research and Teaching Center" did NOT make it so. With each passing year, he strayed more into private interpretation as he added *Advanced Studies Classes* to generate a system of indoctrination. Cash flow, baby...... I contend that wierwille's narcissist ambitions were to establish a dependency on twi.......not on Christ Jesus, the mediator between God and man. Wierwille's aim was focused on the subjugation of his followers!!! These past 20 years, hundreds of GSC threads have exposed Wierwille's revisionist history. Of course, wierwille boasted and expounded profusely during those corps night owl meetings when he was liquored up with plenty of Drambuie, his favorite drink. He detailed accounts of hearing an audible voice from God, snow on the gas pumps, studying into the wee hours of the morning for 12 years to unearth the truths of the Scriptures, etc. etc. And, the Wierwille German family history was broadcasted loud and proud time and again......even Mrs. Wierwille's book spends ample time on this to tweak the indoctrination message of "The Way, Inc." The year 1982, the designated year of wierwille's retirement (after 40 years of his ministry work --- cough, cough)........was when Wierwille's narcissism and boasting came center stage. Hours and hours of detailing the wierwille family history at "Living Victoriously." Wine glasses with the wierwille crest were sold in the Way's bookstore. Little wierwille statues could be purchased for your desk or home. The corps training was an indoctrination program. The corps were sent forth with marching orders to run classes.......i.e. subjugate followers. Every cog in the machine was geared for followship........not fellowship. Even to this day, there are indoctrinated ex-corps who have NOT connected the dots of wierwille's deception. They are devotees/idolaters who spout the cult-clap cliches and buzzwords that we all heard thousands of times. Corps who endeavored to research Scripture that was outside the boundaries of wierwille's system were slapped back into line, or black-listed. Heck, even Schoenheit's research on "Adultery is a Sin" was deep-sixed by Walter Cummings, the Research Department Head Coordinator. In fact, you'd get pozzezzed just reading it.......what a sh!t-show accusation. Backed by Geer, Finnegan, Townsend, others? Nobody could challenge this? Wierwille died of cancer. Does twi go back and examine wierwille's teachings at the Advanced Classes that CANCER IS A DEVIL SPIRIT? Nope. Silence. You are not allowed to challenge wierwille's teachings. You are NOT allowed to disagree with the way cult. If you dissent, then they "mark and avoid" you. The Scientologists call it "disconnect." The Amish consider it "shunning." A journey that may have started as biblical research for some........morphed into twi-indoctrination. The errors/deception in doctrine led to errors/deception in practice. Mandates were established to instill subservience: Foundational books only sold to PFAL grads. In-house bookstore. Indoctrination marketing. Series of classes build on twi-doctrine....ie. Renewed Mind. Why in the past tense? Scripture says "renewing of the mind".... Cancer is a devil spirit. Wierwille died of cancer. Did wierwille die possessed of a devil spirit? Or, was wierwille wrong? No debt-policy. For 26 years, twi had a mandated policy of no debt for certain classes, leadership positions. What changed? No pregnancy policy. Corps grads were mandated to NOT get pregnant....or released from employment. Why? No homosexuals allowed......yet, Rosalie had two lesbians living in her basement. No one could call her out on it? Two-by-two policy. Who enforced this policy? Was Donna allowed to go shopping by herself? LOL Founders Hall mandates. Off-grounds leniency. Two-tier system benefits some and not others. Subjugation. Indoctrination. Subservience. It's around every corner at The Way International. And now, Donna is the CEO of The Way International........when every rule and mandate that wierwille established was that EACH CORPS COUPLE was treated as a unit of one. If the husband screwed up, both husband and wife were dropped from active corps [DFAC]. If the wife was "off the Word" and rebellious, then the husband was reproved for not leading her correctly and BOTH were dismissed from the corps program. YET, that is not what happened with Donna. She was given special compensation, because of her *close association* with Rosalie. Hypocrisy and complicity.....as the "rulers" have their own set of no accountability. Donna got to lay low for several years and incrementally, and strategically, build her status back to prominence. LOL. See how that works? Rules for thee, but not for SHE. Indoctrination Central Command is still plugging along. Welcome to the cult.
  7. Bump Victor Paul Wierwille lied about the date of The Way International's founding. Dorothea Kipp Wierwille denied that date and told us the true date of TWI's founding. The first Sunday of October has always been twi's celebration of their "Anniversary Weekend".......but when one reads Mrs. Wierwille's book, the anniversary was NOT in October and NOT in 1942. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Page 219 in Mrs. Wierwille's book, Born Again to Serve, quote..... "We began our independent undertaking by having meetings in this Washington Street home on Thursday evenings and late Sunday afternoons. The first Thursday evening fellowship was held on December 19, and the first Sunday meeting, on December 29, 1957." So, who you going to believe? Victor Paul Wierwille or Dorothea Kipp Wierwille? To look at the Vesper Chimes broadcast as twi's beginning when wierwille was a pastor at St. Jacob's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Payne, Ohio stretches credulity to the limit. In no way, shape or manner did victor paul wierwille have any inkling of a "class-based, independent ministry" in 1942. Wierwille was rooted in the denominational structure of the church......and by listening to Rev. Fuller's radio broadcast each week, wierwille crafted this plagiarist path to get his voice heard to a wider audience. No revelation from above. No originality. Just wierwille studying the religious landscape to up his influence. .
  8. Posted: August 4, 2020 "So, now.......why won't twi's board of directors relent on their "no-debt" doctrine? Why do they vault themselves into the position over YOUR FINANCIAL AFFAIRS? What gives them the damn right to invade your space, your personal decision-making? INDOCTRINATION. The cult rulers have pushed and confronted you for years, decades. They've wormed their way into every fabric of your life.......twi is a cult. They do NOT want you to gain independence. They do NOT want you to gain more prosperity and build equity and advance forward. They want to subjugate you." Six weeks later..........twi's no-debt mandate has been waived for their 2021 Advanced Class students and grad class. Could it be that too many people have been visiting this GSC site and voicing dissent with twi's policies and subjugation? Or, twi NEEDS to waive this policy to jump-start activity from years of hemorrhaging? This policy has been in place since 1994........and NOW, they changed it. BOOM. .
  9. Having just watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on netflix last week...... Maybe someone could snag a big RV......and load up his whole branch of students for a drive to a western saloon in downtown Gunnison. After a dozen pitchers of beer and a fun time boot-scooting into the night, slip back onto twi's property without getting caught. Hopefully, Rosalie Ratched is not waiting to pounce.
  10. Through the years, anybody who knows about the long trek to Gunnison, Colorado.......knows it's a grueling task. Imagine further.......that you spend two days traveling by car to get there.....and KNOWING that you will be sitting for nine days of class and two days of travel to get home. Oh sure.....there will be some afternoon breakout twig sessions where you sit on the grass with 20 others and maybe, if weather permits, a night owl campfire where you, again sit on your butt. How about some white-water rafting in the nearby Gunnison River? Nope. How about enjoying a 3-hour hike on a sunny afternoon with others? Nope. How about a whole day "without class" to do as you choose? Ha ha. Nope. You see, twi is going to do what they've ALWAYS DONE.......subjugate you. For them, offering this advanced class for grads-only puts all the strategic advantages in their corner. The property is an investment that sits "empty" for much of the time. It gives twi the ability to showcase Camp Gunnison and present to you where some of the abundant sharing goes (cough, cough). All the scenic beauty surrounding you.......and you paid good-money (again) to sit nine days on your butt. At least, they didn't schedule this class in the dead of winter at this isolated campground......where you might get a glimpse of The Shining [link].
  11. So, you "took the liberty to log onto Whols.com" ...... and that got your motor running? Really? Hmmm......sounds like you didn't do any diligent study of the background or history of this site. No mention of GSC's predecessor "Waydale." No mention (or understanding?) of the TWO lawsuits against Martindale/TWI. No mention of the out-of-court settlements that led to Waydale's agreement to close. No mention of hundreds of members/posters who have given heartfelt thanks to this site. No mention of second-generation kids who've told their stories of depression and/or abuse. No mention of the deep scars left by 20, 30 or 40 years of cult exploitation. No mention that just 3 years ago......Another Exodus (150-300 people) exited TWI. No mention of how cults use intimidation, manipulation, deception and isolation to overpower. Maybe that "ignorant" verse that you like some much is succinctly placed. Will Rogers was known for saying....."Everybody is ignorant, only on different subjects." .
  12. Well, hopefully........some decent folk with use those critical thinking skills and realize that they are being played (again). I mean, c'mon......how many times do you have to spend your hard-earned money to hear the same class material? Whether it takes you two days of drive time or extra money flying into Denver and then getting shuttled over to Gunnison.......it STILL is nearly two weeks away from work and money out of your pocket for a re-run class. Plus, it's going to be 1) intense and 2) condensed.......meaning, the ac grad students are AGAIN going to have their butts in seats for nine long days. Gawd.....it sounds nauseating just thinking about it. Sounds like.......the subtle power of spiritual abuse, doesn't it? Twi leadership holds power over them. The minute they step on the grounds of Camp Gunnison.....they are trapped in nine days of structure. Mandatory meals (or highly recommended) ......and sit thru 20 minutes of announcements Mandatory sessions ......morning, afternoon and evening. 15-20 minute bathroom breaks ...... okay kids, everyone go pee. Release groups ....... breakout groups to regurgitate and re-enforce indoctrination. How about a question and answer period? Nope. How about testimonials of who operated revelation and/or power manifestations? I really miss those days of sitting on my butt for 12-15 hours a day while overlords slip in and out of the backroom and bellow their fury from stage. Little did I realize back then, that even wierwille was a pathological plagiarist of the high order of hypocrisy.
  13. Recently, The Way International made a two-fold grand announcement: This new announcement waives the debt-free requirement for students desiring to enroll in the upcoming Advanced Classes in 2021. Next year, there will be two advanced classes run. The first one is for advanced class grads at Camp Gunnison (May 1-9, 2021) and the second advanced class is for new students at hq (June 13-26, 2021). Lots of attention has being drawn to the waiving of their strict debt-free requirement, a policy that was implemented in 1994....... But......the advanced class grads-only "camp" in May is the Loyalty Test and Purge that cometh. Make no mistake about its importance. This is a "circle the wagons" maneuver....a planned, strategic, tactical, and controlled move. This is the SAME PLOY implemented in 1992 after "the fog years." Let's number the ways why twi would do this.... Twi does NOT have clergy "camps"........or corps "camps." Why? Already fleeced of their labor, get-togethers have little upside. The whole concept of a "clergy household" is grade-A bunk. In my 14 years as clergy......we only had a few meetings, nothing more. Corps grads will be pressured to attend this advanced class (all-grads class). Committed corps show up. The committed get to attend first.....adv class grads and corps. Plus, "sit at the feet of the teachers"...who would miss THAT? Advanced Class students, and therefore grads......are a prime target for twi. Faithful tithing and future corps applicants. For the same reason, twi has Advanced Class Specials......exploitation at its maximum. Money. Power. Influence. Control. Peer pressure goes both ways.....up and down the cult paradigm. You will be pressured to attend. Count on it. Just like in Scientology......there is a subliminal control factor in promoting people to scale levels of "achievement." #8 -- Going Clear. The advanced class completes the series. It is marketed as attainment of "spiritual maturity".....until you find out later it isn't. The Way International is borrowing the same play from their 1992 playbook: Run an advanced class for grads-only at a twi-property location. Home Field Advantage. They control all the factors. Notice......it is an intense, condensed version of the advanced class. Nine days......long days......structured to the hilt. Very little time for hanging out in the scenic beauty of Colorado. No time to hike, explore or have a couple of afternoons hanging with "friends." Could it be that this intensely, structured time keeps questions and dissent to a minimum? Absolutely!! Do you have to attend to keep your advanced class grad status? If so........then this will purge from the ranks those who do NOT attend. WARNING: Cults operate via a series of purges ...........and this is another one coming. For those who are happy residing in an institutionalized environment, then this thread is not for you. But to those who do not like being played......or jumping thru hoops to stand before your leadership year after year......stop and give this some thought. Do you a.c. grads really NEED or WANT to sit thru another advanced class again? SSDD .
  14. T-Bone.......yeah, cult conformity and rigid obedience cowers the soul and poisons the creative heart. Long gone are the days when songs-from-the-heart, murals, paintings, artwork, sculpting, wood crafting, etc. .......were overflowing at the various campuses and hq. Each year, the graduating corps would give their labor of love to some worthy gift or renovation project on campus to commemorate their time at that campus. It was amazing to see the incredible talent within each graduating corps group. Men like Buddy Curry Family 5 [RIP] had incredible skill and talent. He built this incredible oak desk for wierwille. Scores and scores of talented people....... Yet, wierwille, martindale and rivenbark seemed blinded by their obsession to keep the corps clone factory running. How could they NOT see this? Did their lust for power and control consume and blind them? Was it the old adage?.........."Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." With each passing year, I found it harder and harder to give "double-honor" to this spiritual leadership. How could they be that obtuse to what was happening all around them? Corps were stifled......and began exiting by 1977. The independent types were moving to greener horizons. And, more heavy-handed legalism was creeping in. I doubted things in wierwille's era......and stayed. I doubted things in martindale's era.......and stayed till August 1998. Damn, it really did become insanity............Insanity on Steroids I could add so much more. I should have written a book. .
  15. Why does The Way International have an auditorium.......and not a church, chapel or cathedral? Answer: Wierwille's narcissism When one looks analytically at the last 8 years of wierwille's life.......what was the major thrust of his involvement? Where was he investing his major energy. concern and resources to from 1977-1985? PFAL '77........live teachings and presentation of Power For Abundant Living Class (taught at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana) Advanced Class '79 .......... live advanced class taught in Athens, Ohio (at Ohio University) High Country Caravan Productions......casting and filming of 10 or 12 (??) short productions for promotional/marketing purposes Living Victoriously (1982).......live teachings and class presentation at twi (hat tip to E. Stanley Jones .... ..) Sound Out '84 ......live presentation of Harmony of the Gospels AND Way Productions performing at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN Productions. Productions. Productions. So.......when a local farmer died and his land came up for sale, wierwille rushed to buy the land. This new purchase gave twi the opportunity to build west of the way woods. And, what did they want to build? An Auditorium. Not a church, chapel or cathedral.....of course not. The Way International didn't want to present itself as another denomination, or religion by building a church. But they definitely wanted a stage. Wierwille and Geer walked the property in 1982 or early 1983 to envision this new project. Yep, they walked the paces to get the size and scope of this auditorium.......an auditorium that would have a production stage, full-dressed front and back curtains, an orchestra pit, a grand rehearsal room, sound room, a balcony that had side seating like grand theaters, and theater seating. The one thing missing was the popcorn. Seriously? An auditorium? I thought wierwille's ministry was about teaching the Word of God, the truths that hadn't been known since the Apostle Paul? What happened? Why the detour to productions as the central focus? Could it be that wierwille's narcissism devoured the stated purpose of his ministry? Doesn't everyone want an auditorium with an orchestra pit to run their Sunday Teaching Services? .
  16. Let me state emphatically........that I am sure how I viewed "Word in Culture" [back then] was very different than how wierwille viewed his "Word in Culture." To me, tt was the well-springing of truth, faith, hope and lovingkindness expressed in music, arts, crafts and writing. Fiction, nonfiction and short stories. The Garden of Living Waters near the wierwille home was in the early stages of being constructed. The Sno-Way.....the building of an all-terrain vehicle was underway in one of the buildings. The energy and creative [dare I say that word...lol] talent was amazing to behold. But then........the very fact that this Word in Culture tent and Hospitality tent [dinner theatre tent] were shut down at the next Rock of Ages spoke volumes. I seriously doubt that few people in twi have any idea the extent to which this excited the corps and staff at hq. The fact that this episode is so rarely discussed on GSC shows how this, too, has disappeared down the memory hole. Twi could NOT CONTROL this exponential expansion of youthful energy.......but rather, herding people around at large events that they could do. Having one's butt firmly planted in a seat for another teaching was their specialty. Meetings, meetings and more meetings. Advanced Class '79. Living Victoriously [1982]. Sound Out '84. Big meetings where wierwille commanded the spotlight.......to indoctrinate the followers. Easy-peasy. For decades to follow...............butts in seats was the control method of choice. It didn't have to end in a death spiral.......................splat. .
  17. Outandabout.........ironic, ain't it? Young, zealous people sign on the line to "Go Corps." The program includes........1) Isolation, 2) Intimidation, 3) Immersion, 4) Indoctrination and 5) Idolization. What could go wrong? The brochure said...."Trained Christian Leaders for A Lifetime of Christian Service." Lots of Red Flags of Emotional Trauma, Conflicts, Confrontation and Sexual Abuse......Thousands Exit. But.....But......."They tell us that WE are the faithful remnant of God and will be rewarded if we stand." There are STILL way corps around who consider victor paul wierwille as their "Father in the Word." To even associate wierwille in a father-figure manner adjoines psychological abuse to indoctrination. Add 20, 30 and 40 years later...........and the Abused have become the Abusers!! It seems apparent to me..........after 10 years (1958-1967) of driving from city to city to teach pfal, wierwille finally realized that he NEEDED youth leaders to front his organization. Wierwille was failing........and he needed a new schtick. So, he devised the subliminal messaging of "coming to the farm to be with your TRUE FAMILY. Here, we have Uncle Harry (vpw's brother) and Aunt Sevilla (vpw's older sister). Hey, stay a couple of weeks and attend the upcoming Summer School. Love-bomb them. Treat them special. Add music, campfires and night owls. Many were displaced youth, transient hippie-types.......looking for belonging, looking for a place to call home. Go WOW. Go Corps. With more and more distance from one's family and roots.......the cult becomes "family." Cults and the Art of Deception Stockholm Syndrome
  18. Oh yeah........twi had its own hamster-wheel of justifying its doctrines and practices. Have the 2nd and 3rd generations ever heard the story of what life was like before 2000? before 1980? Of course.....twi's practices have been self-serving.....and only self-serving......for a long, long time. It didn't have to end this way (spiraling down to its doom). It seems to me, those years 1977-1979 were ripe with outreach and "Word in Culture." With musical groups and outreach......some professional athletes from the NFL and tennis were taking pfal. A professional bull-riding clown took the stage to speak at roa. Doctors, professionals and business people were coming on board. When the 1979 Rock of Ages came around......there was an arts, music and crafts tent for the sole purpose of purchasing merchandise from other believers and enhancing Word in Culture. Another tent was set aside for an evening "Dinner Theatre"...... where you pre-purchased a ticket for dinner and a theatrical performance (following the big top teaching). Imagine that! Yeah, imagine that. There was more to this event than just the pilgrimage to the Big Top to hear Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille teach another sermon. The spotlight was no longer solely on the cult leader on main stage. Imagine the possibilities. "Word in Culture" was the growing buzz-word. The fire had been lit.....and the flame was growing. The tent was a-buzz with believers selling their wares to others All kinds of music groups and solo artists were popping up. Cassette tapes of Lisa Lochridge and Dave Lutz were flying off the shelves. Not the "Way Productions sanctioned music" that was promoted from the main stage.......but the upcoming singers that were putting out good songs. Simple, down-to-earth music from the heart. This "Word in Culture" sparked a short-lived movement of enterprise from the bottom up.........NOT from the top down. Musicians, composers, writers, short-stories, artists, cartoonists, sculptors, screen-printers, etc.......lots of energy on the rise. Medical WOWs.........nurses, doctors, interns, administrative types. Another arm of outreach. Military WOWs..........Paul Norcr0ss headed up medical outreach and worked alongside the Trunk Office and International Outreach to help military personnel stationed throughout parts of the world. Some military guys were given special exceptions for corps training and/or their corps assignment. Why is any of this important now? There was a short window in time when twi almost (maybe?) broke from its cult-trajectory and let people live freely. That short time frame of "Word in Culture"........was closed back down, because twi could NOT control its outcome. By 1980 Rock of Ages......there was no tent set aside for buying/selling other believers' merchadise. Songs, wording and content HAD to be pre-approved and filtered thru upper cult management. Many of the hippie-types saw the writing on the wall.........and left. And, yeah.........add coerced-corps labor during in-residence training into the mix. Then, heap a mandatory "corps week" on them so that all corps are required EVERY YEAR to attend.....and don't leave until the Rock of Ages is over. This burdened the corps exponentially.......financially, family responsibilities, work/career challenges, nearly 3 weeks away from work each year, keeping corps from promotions or career paths, etc. etc. The Way International has refused to learn the lessons of yesteryear ...........for 4 decades !!! This story didn't start in 2000 with Rosalie.........it started a long, long, long time ago. .
  19. There are reasons why TWI was not as formidable in 2017......as they thought they were. 1. Years of dissenting voices had been percolating below the surface. By August 2016, they sent the Board of Directors a letter of concerns and grievances. This dissenting group viewed this as an Acts 15 attempt to confront "the church elders" and resolve this growing divide. According to reports, the directors would not meet with them as a group......but offered to meet separately with couples, attempting to divide and conquer the group. 2. Thus, this dissenting group of corps marshaled greater numbers to their side. The chasm had widened. These corps want Rosalie to resign.....ousted from her position of power over them. So, even though Jean-Yves is "installed" as president.....Rosalie RETAINS her position of power as vice-president. The corps instantly recognize this as a ruse. Jean-Yves is nothing but a figurehead. Rosalie holds the power. By March 2017........letter to directors signed by 60 corps (and implying dozens more agree). 3. In this confrontation, the directors are dealing with major players. Four couples have been corps coordinators......overseeing campuses and several hundreds of corps thru the years. Plus, they'd gone on to oversee regions, limbs and branches. Other major players had been hq-staffers for decades......in security, investment, legal, international outreach, etc. No longer were these corps 30 year olds.........they are NOW 60-70 year olds and pi$$ed at the system of corruption. 4. Add in the factor of social media. How much communication and organization was done via phone/texting one another? How many years have these corps been visiting GreaseSpot Cafe's site and read the thousands and thousands of threads here? 5. Rosalie kept pushing and pushing these corps to do more. Yet, many of them simply wanted the respect and public thanks from the directors for their decades of service .....and then, retire graciously. The cult could not and would not allow this. 6. There's a saying....."Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Well, what about these corps who had been scorned? Did the directors think that they could dispose and trash their reputations like twi did to others decades ago? Hello??? The internet is here. Social media is here. NO LONGER CAN THE DIRECTORS SILENCE THEIR CRITICS. 7. In business, it is said that one displeased customer will go on and tell his experience to 12 others. That's 12 other people who have heard and are now influenced by a rotten business or an overpriced service. Bad publicity travels around the city faster than you can imagine. What did the directors think would happen? Are they SO CLUELESS that they think bad business goes unspoken? 8. Imagine......40+ years in twi-service and now THIS? You don't think that is going to cut deeply? 9. So, yeah......the directors have sowed the wind and shall reap the whirlwind. No surprise. These corps are going to keep telling others......friends, co-workers, kids, grand kids, etc. How many will stop tithing/absing to twi altogether? How many will start going to another splinter group? How many will finally recognize this whole ruse as a cult experience? 10. Will twi every learn? This is no longer the 1970s when wierwille was able to rule with dominant power over others. Today, the internet and social media has changed everything. This latest toll has INDEED been a significant blow to twi. .
  20. So, time and again........wierwille would show his dog-porno flick to in-residence corps and family corps. He would explain, in detail, what was happening.....and how the dog was not an active participant in this sexual activity. Wierwille yukked it up.......sometimes, rewinding the flick to see it again, in repetition. Yet......we spent thousands of hours in classes and when wierwille came to campus he showed THIS? Why didn't wierwille spend time, IN DETAIL......showing us the intricate aspects of "ministering healing" to others? Wierwille, by example......operating the "gifts of healing manifestation" to someone in need. In the sunlight. In front of the corps. Rather than show us the "devil side of things"........show us "THE GOD-SIDE OF THINGS." I know, I know......wierwille said that he didn't want us to mimic him. He said that God would individually work in each of us.....IF we were in fellowship. So, wierwille would talk a con-game.......but I never saw him once demonstrate the power of the revelation/action manifestations. Surprise. Surprise. And, to this day......there are corps who still idolize the counterfeit man. Or, wierwille was known to visit an all-female "Way Home".....and would leave the bathroom door wide open and stand naked at the bathroom sink. When one young girl walked by, he turned directly to her and gave her the full monty......and smiled. Apparently, He enjoyed seeing her reaction. He had an agenda of pushing sexual boundaries. And, for years......he used his motor coach to ambush young, unsuspecting corps girls who thought it an honor to be invited to personally "meet" with him. Let that sink in......... .
  21. JavaJane.............priceless Which begs the questions going forward...... Will Vern Edwards, as president........be given updates from GSC each week? Or, will John Rupp, as Chairman of the Board......need GSC updates to keep close tabs on hq-staff? Or, will Donna Martindale, as CEO......be shown updates and mandates others to stay off the internet? What the leaders (rulers) deem as "devilish".....they, themselves, are able to partake in. See...that's how you control the little people. They label it "devilish" and tell people to stay away or they might get possessed......but then, they have the "spiritual maturity" to handle it. Lest we forget........wierwille had a dog-porno flick that he brought out of his "collection of devilish stuff" to show others. .
  22. Rubina........thanks for your reply. These past 19 years, here at GSC.......I have always found it fascinating to read all the different perspectives that people express in their posts. The accumulation of all these experiences, combined together......is like putting a puzzle together, piece by piece. Even though, I faithfully attended twig and sat thru 6 or 7 pfal classes before going WOW twice.......I didn't have a clue of twi's deceptive tactics and history. I focused all my attention on helping others and outreach. But when I needed to sit thru wierwille's Christian Family and Sex class to complete my requirements for Apprentice Corps ......several aspects of that class were unsettling. The more I delved into twi's advanced studies classes, then the advanced class......THEN, the corps program......the more red flags I saw. Plus, I started seeing corps grads who were disgruntled and dissenting from this "lifetime of Christian....cult service." In July 1978......Rev. John Cl-ay, 4th Corps and Georgia Limb Coordinator was exiting twi. His mom was on staff at hq. While in-rez in 9th corps......several segments of corps nights were spent castigating region/limb guys (cop-outs). In Nov 1979......Rev. Steve Sa-nn 4th Corps was not happy to be recalled back to hq for wierwille's "Re-Education Corps Camp." In Oct 1981.......Rev. Mike Smith 1st Corps was planning to head to Alaska after 1982 Rock of Ages. No more corps assignments. Why were corps grads ready to split by 1978? 1979? What were they seeing that others were not? Here at GSC......posters have relayed the background information of Heefner and Doop. These young ministers, in 1969-1972, were on fire with genuine ministries....... the hippies, youth and their giving was pouring in. According to Jim Doop.....wierwille agreed that 85% of abundant sharing should stay in The Way West and then, 15% of it would be sent to hq each week. But by March 1972.....wierwille blindsided these guys in open meetings in a power-grab. Heefner and Doop.........how many people know the dark details of wirwille's abuse and deceit in this? John Summ3rville.........TFI 1975,76 (Total Fitness Institute in California) the only man (as far as I know) who stood up to wierwille. So, wierwille sets up his LEAD program and runs it out of Tinnie, New Mexico. Martindale failed in his evaluation at TFI.....yet, he became the Corps Director over 5 corps locations. YIKES. Geer drove wierwille's bus and guarded the door at vp's night romps with corps women. He snaked his way into wierwille's inner-circle. If wierwille had had any depth of spiritual perception (cough, cough), he would have seen it for what it was. There was a misogynistic undercurrent in wierwille's teachings and geer amplified it. Of course, the more time I spent reading Mrs. Wierwille's book, I couldn't help but see that plagiarism and narcissism were vpw's pillars..... wierwille's climb to power. Mrs. Wierwille's book, Born Again to Serve, undermines the MOG-Doctrine in twi and exposes the myths and mystique of Victor Paul Wierwille. You read about the fictional 1942 birth of twi......and find its EXACT DATE OF BIRTH as December 19, 1957. Unmistakably, these pages show that wierwille stole the foundational class from B. G. Leonard and deceptively ran with it. You read that the India itinerary was somewhat successful because honor and respect was given to Dr. I. S. Williams who opened many doors of churches, political offices and the Jain Covention for wierwille. You read about the first exodus in 1960.....because Troy/Piqua believers did not trust wierwille to keep the abundant sharing money separate from the operation of his family farm. When you think that it was bad in the 1990s......go back to the 1980s. When you think that it was bad in the 1980s......go back to the 1970s. When you think that it was bad in the 1970s......go back to the 1960s. Every decade has a different layer of deception in it. .
  23. The Way International Cult thrives best when there is strict, authoritarian control over their followers: 1) Rulers and 2) Followers. No middle ground. No middle class of wealth, independence and self-rule. No advantage to the cult if families are taking their kids to the lake on Sunday for a day of memories. With more prosperity comes more independence.......and more family outings, vacations, traditions and memories. With more prosperity and upward mobility......a father is able to provide more for his family and gain respect in his career field and community. Why did wierwille teach certain aspects of "spiritual growth" and give other verses the silent treatment? Answer: he wanted to subjugate (control) the people. Of course, he gave lip-service to prosperity.......advancing "spiritual maturity" and discouraged higher education especially to the corps. Wierwille's corps letters are filled with his opining that corps were abandoning him (as early as 1977). Anyone who thinks that twi went south because of craig martindale.......hasn't connected the dots, yet. So, now.......why won't twi's board of directors relent on their "no-debt" doctrine? Why do they vault themselves into the position over YOUR FINANCIAL AFFAIRS? What gives them the damn right to invade your space, your personal decision-making? INDOCTRINATION. The cult rulers have pushed and confronted you for years, decades. They've wormed their way into every fabric of your life.......twi is a cult. They do NOT want you to gain independence. They do NOT want you to gain more prosperity and build equity and advanced forward. They want to subjugate you. Do you ever think back to those early Rock of Ages.......and think about the message it portrayed? Yeah, sure....there were laughs and good times among our "friends" and many held onto those nostalgic memories for decades..... but there was sweltering heat, downpours, mud, wet tents, chilly nights, cold showers, sickness, poverty, confrontations, coerced-labor, beggars wanting money to go WOW, home-again propaganda, etc. Ain't it great to be home again? ppffffffttttt And, if you see any of them R&R folks knocking on your doors......ask them, "Why do you want to RESTORE that?"" .
