  1. Looks like we're going to get a whole lot of rain with this one.

Most gas lines are intolerable. But hubby went out this morning and only had to wait 15 mins.

Laundry's done. I'm making home made chicken soup. We have movies and popcorn.

    I think we're ready

My prayers are for all the GS Floridians.

  2. How exciting for you and Kristopher.

My kids were in Pre-K and were ready for Grade K

But, when I first put my daughter in Pre-K, she clung onto my leg for the first week. I had to peel her off

each time and walk away. It broke my heart. :( As soon as she couldn't see me, the crying stopped and she was fine :)

Make it fun for him. I took pictures of them holding their lunchboxes and a few more in the classroom. Now

we look back at those photos and a big kick out of them.

Good Luck Chas, you'll be fine :)

  3. Igotout and I were discussing the splinter groups that stemmed from TWI the other day. Some of the people in these groups have been out of TWI for 10 years or more. Yet they still cling to the home-fellowship as if it were an abomination to do otherwise. The format to the fellowship for most of these groups is still the same as well:

    Sing – Pray – Sing - Announcements

    Sing (softly) - Manifestations

    Teaching (20 minutes)

    Tithe

    Sing

    Cookies and coffee! (Oh boy!)

Gawd, it sounds so bland and boring. It makes me wonder why people haven’t tried … (insert “Jaws” music here)…. CHURCH!

Now, I don’t go to a church, or a splinter group or anything at the moment. We did go to a nice, large Methodist church for about a year after leaving TWI. We don’t go there anymore, and it has nothing to do with the church or the minister in charge – but that’s another thread…

One thing I noticed about this church, and have heard about many other churches is that they’re very diversified. Besides several Sunday services to choose from, there are couples nights, singles nights, family spaghetti nights, classes for people with specific needs as well as bible studies, rock music services, and tons of volunteer opportunities – like helping others in need! The church we attended helped build a “Habitat for Humanity” home every year. They had missionary programs in Haiti and other third world countries.

Most of the congregation lived in our community. Their kids went to the same schools as our kids. We shopped in the same stores. We weren’t in someone’s living room, isolated from other points of view.

So – if you’re still a Christian – what’s wrong with church? Is there a fear that you might be taught something contrary to what you learned in TWI – and that what you learned there might be wrong? Or is it a disdain for those teachings –

a smug sense of superiority and arrogance that came with the territory of knowing the “only truth”.

I know someone who had been in TWI all his adult life, and attended a splinter group when he was kicked out with a bunch of others. He’s been sitting in a living room with the same kind of people, singing the same songs and hearing the same type of manifestations and teachings for over 30 years. There are seldom any new attendees. There’s no sense of community or charity there. Just the same-old same-old. He – and others like him – would have a great time going to a big, lively, active church! His social life would have a totally different outlook! But the mention of it gives him the willies.

I’m not putting anyone down who attends a splinter group. I’m just wondering why they would never check out something that might be better – or different! What's the problem? As the poem suggests... "It isn't the church... it's you!"

    Whaddya think?

    Yup, that was me.

It took me years to be able to admit that what I was taught could very well be wrong.

I go to a wonderful church now. I'm involved in a Women's Bible Study. I don't feel superior anymore and

THAT in itself was freeing to me.

  4. moony,

After you get on the site go to Netcast...Thurs. Then click on the 2nd picture on the left of your screen. Wait for the advertisement to finish, then click. The Ramsey case will show up, then click again when that starts. It'll stop and reload your clip.

  5. Good news everyone :jump:

My sister just called to tell me that Layla is doing great. The Dr's are REALLY confused over this matter.

She was expected to go home on a feeding tube, but apparently they got her to drink from a bottle. she's been progressing quite well at this point.

Keep up on those prayers. You all are the BEST!!!

Now, my niece is obviously suffering from "Batterd Women Syndrom". According to my sister, Jacque has been blameing Malachai (their 1 1/2 year old) all along for the injuries. That's plain sick to me. She doesn't believe Dustin is responcilbe for any of this.

My sister is going to get a hold of the newspaper back there to give them the story. There still has been no arrest. They are due to go back to court Thurs.

Jacques Dad got his church to help raise their roof and will build a whole new second floor to their house. He's in construction and there's plenty of construction workers, plumbers, and electricians who will help in the project... at no cost..

God's hand is definitly in this situation :)

Thank again for your prayers... I'll keep you posted

  6. Thursday on the Todays Show they broadcasted this preacher who claimed to be Jesus.

Evedently, he's been around for awhile. He has a huge following too. They call him "daddy"

Check it out at the Today's Show Website http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032633/

    Go the Today Netcast Thurs.

You know??? What is wrong with people? It's the most blatant form of insanity I've seen since Wako Tx.

You should see the $$$ this guy is getting :o

    Totally disgusted, :nono5:

  7. Yes, the Dr's by law have to notify the authorities, but they still need to investicate the matter before arresting anyone.

Apparently, the parents had to sign a waiver to give up parental rights for 3 months.

Jacque's dad and step-mother are good people. They already have 4 children at home of their own. My prayers are going out to them as well.

  8. Can you believe the courts have given the parent supervised visitation?

    OMG!!!! :o I'm shocked!

Layla had her surgery yesterday. They put a shunt in her head. She had multiple fractures, old and new and they found old and new blood in the brain.

My niece is standing by the fathers side. She's in complete denial.

Jacques father and step mother are going to get a loan to add another room to thier house and are going to fight to get full custody of all the kids. My sister will help them financially.

My sister called the police last night and asked why there hasn't been an arrest yet. They said the parents have to be proven quilty first. Beings that the father and mother are the primary caretakers, then the arrest should be soon. But, sometimes it takes awhile if there have been others who watch the children. Dustin didn't want anyone watching them. So even the grandparents were only allowed to see them for a few hours at a time. Dustin never allowed them to come to thier house. They would go over for visits now and then.

He has alienated the whole family from those kids.

My sister lived out there until about 2 months ago. She watched Malachai for them a lot and helped Jacque with the twins when they got out of the hospital.

    Thanks for all the prayers,

    Frances

  9. I just got some horrible news from my sister this morning.

It's very hard for me to write right now, but they need a lot of prayer.

My Niece is 21 years old with a 1 1/2 year old boy and a set of 5 month old twin girls. They live in Indiana. The Father is a known abuser of his own mother and my niece Jacque.

He's been hurting Jacque phisically now for nearly 4 years. Jacque keeps taking him back. Now they have the 3 kids and Layla has been in the hospital for 4 days being tested and treated for head trauma that at first the Doc's had no clue what was wrong with her other than she had swelling of the brain, seizures, vomiting, and fever. (that didn't make sence to me)

Yesterday, they told Jacque Layla had "Shaken Baby Syndrom" and that she was blind and will go into surgery today. She also has multiple fractures. The Dr. said that the injuries to the brain were old. The blood was old, so apparently she has been ill for a while. He said the injuries were severe.

The father is the one that watched the kids at home while Jacque worked full-time taking care of everyone. He refuses to work himself and has a compulsive cleaning disorder.

Lana also has a broken leg and ribs and Malachia has signs of fractures as well.

    I am SICK.

My sister lives in WA. and was going to fly out until she found out that Jacque is still with him

This is really bad. The kids are in the care of his mother at this time.

They have not arrested him/her as of yet.

PLEASE, PLEASE, pray for those children.

    Thank you,

    Frances

  10. Hi Twinky,

We dropped all the stuff off at one of those parked semi-trucks, so I wouldn't know which GoodWill it was going to.

I should of just chucked it in a dumpster or something. I really wasn't thinking at the time. And it wasn't hard at all when I got rid of it. I just started thinking about it today  Like, OMG.... who's going to pick that book up? We gave away about 30 or so old books at the time and it was just another book I didn't want.

    Maybe they won't display it.

  12. Ok.. here's a few hints

It was in the late 80's

The band is still playing music today

Lead singer?? VERY hot in his day and IMO still is

    Here's more Lyrics..

I'd steal the sun from the sky for you....

It's on a classic CD called "CrossRoad"

Come on Tom.... I know you can do it :biglaugh:

  13. :dance::dance:

I don't know about anyone else, but I just couldn't get rid of that bible. It had years of twi notes in it and I was very proud of that back in the day.

Funny how we (or speaking for myself here) can get so attached to something that I have barely looked at for so long. And when I did look at it I would just get upset.

A lot of it was Corps notes and all I could hear was Craig preaching those words.

So, the other day we were cleaning our bookshelves out of our kids rooms and our den area, and I took that old Companion out and placed it in the box. My hubby just smiled :) He was happy for me, but was it ok to pass that along to someone else?

I didn't think of that till this morning
