  1. Belle... what you wrote made me shiver...

I ALWAYS NOTICED THAT! I would do some sort of setup for the coffee, milk, sugar, etc.. and the F.C would come by and redo the spoons on the plate so they all faced the same way! It always bothered me!

AARGH! Just do it yr damn self instead of letting someone else be "blessed" by doing it.

  2. wow. Raf, Coolwaters.. you guys are awesome.

I'm actually suprised that some people haven't jumped all over Raf for that statement. W2G!

I read that article today on cnn.com as well.

It makes you wonder. Yes, we would like to think that no one would ever miss that poorly if they were focused..yet if it is THAT easy to miss.. perhaps this school should be moved?

  3. I remember hearing about certain books the ministry printed or used that only active WC had access to.

The one I heard about was an orientalisms book that was cheaply bound but went into more detail than the small "Orientalisms of the bible" books.

Substantiate this, or talk about any others, or not icon_wink.gif;)-->

  4. I hope my disagreeing didn't read as being upset with Sadie at all, just that it was my experience.

I have to say that what lindyhopper wrote is probably the most accurate:

"knowing the different wacked out things leaders in different areas have said, it wouldn't suprise me"

I had heard time and time again from Way people, (when I would visit other areas like Texas years back or California) "What Way ministry are they a part of?" This was not said in response to comments about the ministry that were disparaging.. (Spelling?) Just about different rules different areas had. No shorts, no hats at picnics, stnad, don't stand, notes, don't take notes in this teaching: all weird things sometimes that seemed area specific but HAD to be followed.

Sorry if this got off track of the original Question. I was just thinking about how in many ways it's hard to seperate our personal experience from the larger whole (if there really is such a thing)

  5. Sadie, currently I'd have to disagree with one point you made:

"Futher more, innies are told to date non-believers for sexual desires instead of the innie girls. This does not fall under the belief system of innie women blessing the men within the cult."

This is not true now, nor (for me) has it been true in the 14 years I have been "in"

Just what I saw.. and I started off in the USA.. rather large area too. Maybe some had different experiences, but I was never told that and never heard that even hinted at.

  6. Tonto,

Just set up a temporary hotmail or yahoo account. I understand why you don't want to publish your home account address, but prob. neither would Jean post hers? unless she? knows for sure who "Tonto" was.

    Just a thought

  7. Now, this is not ego. It's also meant as a joke ref. about "Threadkillers", but TELL ME this is not the end? icon_rolleyes.gif:rolleyes:--> icon_wink.gif;)-->

Or maybe I wrote the above and filled people with fear. what a bad ol wafer. argh. heh heh

    icon_razz.gif:P-->

Yes, you are so correct. Perhaps I am a little too tired.

  8. I thought Martindale gave it a new name? Maybe I'm not as up on what is going on like I thought.

I did hear that once though, that people could choose to have sex depending on the circumstances.

  9. This would take way too long to get into and I am tired.. I would tend to agree however that current doctrine follows the teachings from Eph that you quoted as well as Eph 6. (See Heb. about how Sara called Abraham lord) etc. They have a new class out on this and related topics now.. haven't taken it.. but of course it would and probably does go over this stuff...any innies seen it?

  10. My personal experience agrees with what Jason P. wrote. I was told, and all others who taught were told too, not to re-teach what was in the Way Mag, STS, or whatever. You could use it as a launching point into a side area or something you were working, but you didn't have to. In fact if someone did just re-hash an article they were talked to afterwords for not putting enough heart into the teaching. And, to clarify, others and myself taught using Youngs, Bullingers, Thayers, WayMag, Humanists, Psychologists, religious texts, dictionaries, etc. You name it, if it was relevant, it was used.

Human understanding does not come from a closed environment.

Really "sucks" that in many ways there are(were) multiple "Way Ministry's" that exist(ed) within itself.

  11. I never did get rid of anything either. Then again I wasn't told to, but I did know those who were "instructed" to in the past.

no censorship, right. Just like when they said not to read these sites. What did they THINK we would do?
