  1. I always put my left sock and shoe on first. For some reason they seem to fit better that way!

I also always count the eggs as I put them in that little plastic thing in the fridge...even tho' I know there are 12 in a dozen.

  2. :redface2: Awww, Socks!

We feel the same about you.

I just realized that on one of our trips to Maui you and the Mrs stayed at our house and took care of our business. That was a "few" years ago!

  3. We are so blessed to have made great friends while in the Way.

We still are close to a number of them, even tho we moved far away!

We also like to think that Sox and the Mrs are still friends!

    Great pix of Maui, Sox.

  4. Hi Shell,

What I do is add a can of Rotel mild and use panko Japanese bread crumbs along with an egg.

It is moist and tasty w/o being too spicy. My grandson, who is the pickiest!, loves it!

  5. We usually go to friends on Christmas Eve, so it's whatever they serve.

On Christmas morning I make Eggs Benedict and fresh squeezed OJ, but first we have coffee and presents!

    We've been doing this for 37 years, so I guess it's a tradition. :love3:

  6. NiKA, They are doing great! Have two kids, and are still catching the big ones! Jim is in TN with his son, and Karol is still in KS with daughter.

They are still together, but Jim's had a job change, and since the girl only had one more yr of HS they decided it was best for her to finish there. Lots of frequent flyer miles being racked up!

  7. One of the best pieces of advice we ever received was to know our risk tolerance. My husband has been very successful investing, and we have learned a lot by reading everything we can get our hands on. You have to realize that it is not an overnite thing. We don't day trade at all, in fact we are totally in Mutual Funds. Diversification is another biggie! Don't put all your eggs in one basket is a truism that will always stand the test of time.

There are many good books out there, you really have to research and decide how best to invest for you.

Also, remember the power of compounding, leave your money to grow, and don't get antsy to make a killing!

Best wishes to you, you will succeed if you realize there aren't any shortcuts, just a lot of patience and dare I say it, a little bit of luck!

  8. Having grown up in So. Massachusetts, moving to SF in the hippie area, and now living in TN, I can say the south is the best. We moved here nine yrs. ago, and from the first I felt at home.

I missed the change of seasons in Mill Valley, and the gentleness of a hot summer night. We lived in MV for 28 yrs, and I don't miss it a bit!

I love rooting for the Volunteers, going down the Tennessee River in our pontoon boat , and hearing Lou Vuto do an awesome "dixie" in his Tribute to Elvis Show.

I just don't want too many people to know how great Knoxville is!

I am saying Y'all with pride and a slight southern accent, and I love grits!

Thanks Sudo for this thread, it's fun!

  9. Suda, Thanks for those kind words. I also haven't always agreed with what has been taught in my 30 odd(!) years of studying the Bible. All I know is the fruit I have seen in the Hills, and also in their children. We all are human, and will all make mistakes. I know I have made a few in life. One thing I do know is that God is loving, kind and fair, so I'll let him judge. Meanwhile I will try to be the best for Him and look to the Word for truth.

As far as the topic, as someone said,(was it dmiller?), who cares? I just want to be in the book of Life. That's what counts to me!:dance::dance:

  10. I am going to jump in here, something I do infrequently, because John Hill's name was mentioned.

We live in Knoxville, so we don't go to the Nashville fellowship often. However, we have known John and Holly for over 9 yrs. They are very loving, kind, tender hearted people who are doing there best to bless God's people. They run a family advance every spring which is a real joy to go to. My husband and I taught at one of the meetings, and we were not asked to pre-share anything. In other words we were allowed to share the word that God put on our hearts.

John and Holly have been guests in our home many times, as we have in theirs, and it has been some of the finest heart-felt times I have had since I left after POP.

We are not neophytes, or for that matter easily swayed, having seen a lot since 1969.

Rascal, I am sorry you are still so bitter that you would lump every one into one category w/o knowing the person.

That is all I can say for now. This is not easy for me to do.

  11. We were once part of a class that was run on a houseboat in Sausalito, CA.

Not only did we have the tides and seasickness to contend with, but it was a fly over zone

for helicopters from SFO to Marin. well, P*tte Ad*ms, now Ho88s, was the class instructor.

We had to call the heliport and find out their schedule. Then John M*Cl33lan had to raise

the volume any time the helios flew by. It was ahoot. Don't remember too much elseas far

as grads, price, etc, or even the year, but it sure was an unusual one![/size]

  12. No, Brian Bliss is not working with Lou, although Suzie does do the videos for his show. I don't think they have started the videos yet in the new theater.

But the plan is to do them soon!

  13. If you want to see Lou go to his website:www.louvuto.com. He has a new venue in Pigeon Forge and his site will tell you where it is! Have fun, it's beautiful here in East TN!
