  1. Go American and do a google on Norman Rockwell and Andrew Wyeth and see what you like. Or go to Williams College in Williamstown, Mass and visit some of Rockwell on permanent? display with covers of the Saturday Evening Post. :)

  2. How do you make money off of raising all these different animals?

I have no idea! I never even thought about the idea of making $$. Just investing in a nice piece of land, learning how to smoke a pipe in the rocker, and waiting for another idea to come.

Designer animals, pigs, llamas, alpaca, deer, ...

  3. Its a wide world--almost anywhere may do..

I have friend with 130 acres for sale in upstate NY that is pretty much as you described, ie.rolling hills, two fair sized forests, plenty of grazing land, Being in the northern latitudes its not too hot-- (its been awhile since I have been there--Im not exactly sure about a river--but it is not dry). Its a rural area surrounded by other farmland and has beautiful distant views of the of the hills of Vermont and Upstate NY

I doubt she has any type of link on the net up. If you're interested --I'll ask her about it.

HERE is some info and maps on the township

Thanks MSTAR! I like up-state NY too, I was thinking about that, New England and Kentucky? I know it's a great big world. I was in Oregon, Idaho and Washington State last Sept. That was great but I don't know anyone out there. I'm more of an east coast person.

This might be an investment idea I could work on for years to come. A couple of barns, old houses would be a plus. Also another reason to visit the states!

  4. I've been thinking about this USA housing / property mess. I just saw a very interesting show here about an animal farm in France, where they raise or house all different types of animals, from pigs to deer, etc., etc.

I might be interested in a piece of land of 100+ acres, with forest, river, hills, not too hot or dry. Any ideas where I might start looking?? :)

  5. And just for the record I hold one absolute truth that can not be disputed. Seed is seed. The seed you plant is what you get. You plant a kernel of corn you get corn. You plant a Kentucky Wonder greenbean seed you get greenbeans. My grandpa taught me that when I was 6 years old. I have never forgotten that.

    Love to all

Does that mean, if you plant birdseed...you get birds? And then you become a "birdbrain"? :biglaugh:

  6. What were we thinking??

You might have been on LSD...with a lot of other people? :biglaugh: But now that you've grown up and become enlightened, you really should have the answers by now? Somehow, I think after all the threads throughout the years, we all realize, it was a business scam. But, if you still are wondering or have any doubts, just join one of those splinters waiting to "pick you up". You can start all over! <_<

  7. I think I dated her in High School, Bumpy.

Of course, she had zits then.

(and she always wanted to go out for pizza, IIRC)

I think what she needs is a photo shop make-over, especially the hairstyle. As for "La Gio Conda"s complexion, painted 1503-1506, she has always been described as a bit ambiguous. Maybe because too many men have tried to dissect her true nature and never invited her out for that long awaited "pizza"?

I think she would have been a cheap date!

  8. Come on now Bumpy, don't ya just get a hankering for one of those juicy grease burgers from time to time? YUM! :love3:

Oh Yea! But at the moment I"m on a HIGH PROTEIN DIET, except for the Vine! 4-5 months of live seafood in Africa looking at you under the stars every night with cocoanuts dropping on your head during the day, makes your body float differently! I lost my mind a long time ago!!

  9. I have a nice little family owned Italian take out place near where I work, but I get tired of eating there all the time. I LOVE Arby's, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Wendy's KFC/AW Popeyes (you can't beat their red beans/rice!) And no kidding Oaks, last time I wanted to get a Big Mac at Micky D's I stressed myself out over how to order it. I mean geez. I'd like an order of 2 all beef patties With Cheese, NO special sauce NO lettuce NO pickles NO onioins. I just ordered a Big Mac with no pickles or onions and I got a big sloppy gooey mess that oozed ranch dressing which I despise. But that one was my fault.

I'm a little confused here...does your four legged friend eat your lunch and write the corporate reviews??

  10. Ah yes, the fast food experience...

The pimply faced kid asks me, "would you like fries with that sir?"...I respond, "If I wanted fries zit face, I would have asked for them!"...I lunge across the counter throwing a right hook at the punks face...moments later, the police are leading me out with handcuffs...

...of course, the above never happened...but nevertheless, corporate fast food places are one of the forerunners in the homogenization of our culture...the death of the mom and pop places...and along with their demise, we have lost the individual touch of the home cooked meal...the wide varieties of cooking styles and regional favorites...we have lost the good manners and genuine appreciation that was shown by the local owners and the local folks who worked in them...

So Grauch-o, if all that evil corporate foodstuff is true...is it also true that you "are what you eat"? Because that commie guy who eats fries in iran now, might just go nuclear. And I ain't kiddin' about that glass eye the the soup either. So much for long lost memories of home cooked meals at the way! :evilshades:

Btw. Do those corporations serve "processed" oysters with ketchup on a bun? Yuuuummmy!!

...instead, we get corporate chains run by kids getting minimum wage and shoveling the food across the counter as the people line up like cattle...

America has changed dear friends...and not for the better.

Hmmm...here's an idea, to help off set the high gas prices, maybe people should start making their own lunches at home and brown bagging it?

  11. Stuff like this is why I generally don't eat fast food. There is a Persian restaurant I occasionally go to take my lunch as much as possible. It's healthier and cheaper.

I'm not saying this to criticize you, but just stop eating at those places.

What are you a communist or somethin unamerican? You eating at cheap french restarants...makes me think of what happened to them freedom fries? How much of that baloney with koolaid did you swallow in kansass to get to gripen about good old american food anyway. :drink:

  12. Nice Thread!

Besides visiting a million and one art museums in Europe the last 30 years or so... I live 5 km from this joint!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pont-Aven

Anyone own a Gauguin? I think he died in the West Indies chasing the female art market in 1903. Post Impressionist. Also lived in Copenhagen, a great city to visit...if you like blondes? But I'm sure the WC taught you all that, that is if you were taking notes?

  13. BTW for those that were having some trouble with my website...I have removed the paragraph and done some other updating. It should be clearer and less abrasive now. Thanks for the feedback.

Here's a little extra feedback from West Africa, regarding what happens to those caught playing closet games in public!

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7433018.stm

Once they land in an African prison...the fun REALLY starts! <_<

  14. Oy Vey...such a deeeaal!! 2 for 1, I like it! Plus my Euro gets 1.54 today, who knows what tomorrow!

Maybe I have to come back to America and buy a farm, grab some cult religious material, hire some "babes" and start my new splinter group! I might even start recruiting a few of the greasers who might be susceptible to a some "new" biblical interpretations! Like the ones in the closet looking for gay verses! :biglaugh:

But then again, the timing may not be quite yet... :)
