I love this song! I am not sure what you see Mark and I am looking forward to finding that out too?? They are all valuable and I applaud this generation for all they have given to this world! A Flashback in time to a few of the ways they made their marks is part of what i sse here. Just our earth suits get old, usually far faster than our hearts and our minds. They still shine and dream and do it all! Things I learned from my Gramma's knitting, crocheting tattting, sewing, making jewelry, cooking canning freezing were all the more memorable when they shared their life stories. The simple little loving touches that we keep in society seems to help us sustain the values this country was founded on. Seems in away that the age of quality and craftsmenship is slip sliding away with each passing year. It is just awesome to think what this generation and our generation has accomplished. It also on the other hand seems a little forbodding as to what the current and upcoming generations are adding, will add, or may have to add to survive. Maybe that is as it should be, Perhaps that is a common view point from one generation to another generation. Remember all the silly things our parents could not relate to; that are now the standards or at least commonally used, employed or enjoyed and even obsolete. We didn't find the fountain of youth persay; but we did find ways to extend our youth both mentally and physically with great spirit and I hope we have loved, inspired and taught our children all they will need to carry on!

Why are the choices in elections always limited to the lesser of two evils? I voted for Gore on that basis.I wish the Democratic ticket wasn't split by Nader or anyone.... in close elections that is a unfair or at least a very disappointing factor. Somtimes I think we should throw out the Electorial College system and just count the popular vote. I hope some brilliant person is formulating a new plan and direction for our elections and our representation, and a comprehensive National Healthcare Plan. In MHO our could use a face lift; an overhaul so to speak. Democracy would be a nice change!!!!!

The authors found within these pages have formed a unique bond. The majority of us have never met and due to the vast amount of miles that separate us, most never will, yet we congregate almost daily in an intimate corner of cyber space to celebrate our love of poetry, our immense respect for one another and the beauty and power of the written word. We share our thoughts, fears, loves, hates, and humor. Sometimes we drape them in colorful metaphor, sometimes we paint them black and occasionally we slam them home with the power of minimalism and pure simplicity. We present intricate word pictures of changing seasons, form spinning flurries of snow falling through the halo of a street light to the fiery heat of the summer sun beating down upon youth. We offer our insights into the pinnacles of man's achievements and visit the depths of the darkest corners of his psyche. Poetry can open the door to a whole new view on life, burrowing deep into the shadows of the past and freeing cherished memories that may have been lost and forgotten. It has been said that "a picture paints a thousand words." We believe that the right words can paint a million pictures." I just wanted to add that I love this line about words painting a million pictures! I wish you all great and continued success!

Dear Abi, He is absolutely precious and so adorable! What a beautiful shine he has :D! Brag on Brag on...Thanks for sharing his shine!!!! Charter schools, what a great option! I am so truly glad you have that choice in this day and age for all the obvious reasons. If I had to school anyone any more I would pick home schooling, private schooling, charter schooling. All children have needs that can be addressed better in smaller and more specialized groupings. Starting them all off according to their individual learning mode gives them a real life tool. It helps so much to have a good and thorough assessment early; so that learning is enjoyable and productive, with the least amount of snags! Love You Abi, RG

Would Anyone Like To Pray With Me??
RainbowsGirl replied to Lone Wolf McQuade's topic in About The Way
Thank You for your loving prayer, You have a beautiful heart (((((((((((((((Roy))))))))))))) -
I love Etta James - At Last All the music here today was great...All Music is Great!...but so hard to keep up with it all in comments. I love all your choices and I applaud you all! I especially right now loved hearing Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash though. All of it was so good each it it's own way...to me to compare music is to compare people it is just plain silly. I just appreciate it. Sure like everyone does I have my favorites...but I reverence all the messengers and messages as distinctly separate and value them all uniquely.

That is a Great idea!

Dear Acts2, I regretfully missed it too! Have a great weekend!

Sweetie, Mostly..Never say never!!!...You way underestimate yourself!!!...Everyone does...it is a common problem of all mankind. I am as sure as she is that you could. I believe you have all the talent, intestinal fortitude and ability to accomplish anything you set your mind and heart to do! Hey you would have to go along way to out brag your friends family and loved ones when it comes to bragging about you...and where you may say I have never seen you work or that I know you only in cyberspace. True but not! Your stellar and brilliant heart shines through and speaks to many other hearts even in cyberspace!!! I know moving and settling in is hard work...but play your music and it will go faster. Enjoy decorating your new home! Stay Safe, Love CK, RG

Dear Matilda Like as I barely know You Matilda, just yet; I hardly knew Kay. I only have had a small glimse of her life and the great extention of her heart and believing! And after, I Had Way more Joy and understanding than I had before I knew her. It is just astounding what great and lasting lessons are delivered in a twinkling of an eye. There is nothing that the love of God and God's Love cannot accomplish! Makes you see it bigger with every glimpse! Your note here has touched my heart very deeply and has reassured me in that all the great and small things in this life build our trust in God and how much he loves us and finds ways and means to show us just how very much that He does love us; and how as you say to get over ourselves! I am sure that your fleeting life has great merit and impact in the grand scheme of things! Whoever reads this will see you amazing heart and love! I will give Josh a hug and a lo shonta shout out skyward for you! Love You (((((((((((((Matilda))))))))), RG and Josh

Thanks Kath, I have never heard Chris Isaac. He is great! I love your work ethic, and I am sure that your company will miss you a lot. I bet it is so very hard to leave for you! I hope the girl you trained works out. Are you transferring to another position in Fla. within the same company? New beginnings, New adventures, New dreams and New heart...those big steps...sometimes all the news become even better than the olds!!! Love You CK, RG

"Bear" Where is it available to get a copy of his book? I am glad to hear that he is still the man I knew him as. Kathy, Alan L*cht was our branch leader in Milwaukee in the late 70's; I have had great regard and respect for him too. At that time he was an amazing leader and teacher; He was a bless to everyone! If things changed in his heart or walk; I don't know about any of the how's or why's. I guess I am thankful for his heart and life back then and if he changed in a nonbeneficial way I hope and pray that God helps him resolve it and restores him and heals his heart. Perhaps, I am wrong in this; I am certain that if I am I will be corrected though. IMHO I feel or at least hope...which is more honest on my part, as I really don't know the facts, that not all leadership had error of heart. Perhaps, some only error of judgement. Since I don't know and am not the judge; therefore I have humility and compassion and Love; and quite often a lot of forgiveness. Love You Both, RG

Dear WhiteDove, I Just wanna know how many times you would have gone around the block to while waiting for the definitive answer?
-
Dear Kathy, We All sure love you a whole bunch ((((((((((((Kathy))))))))) and anyone here would be more than Blessed and Honored to be your good neighbor. It would be great to be able to hear you sing and play, or to party, and hang out with you ; not to mention the all year round roof sitting availability! :) Not that you can, I supose be off the topic on the music thread in this case; because "You are a heart and soul music girl"???...but I sure will miss you when you're on the road to your new home and settling in. The Music Thread seems to be the most appropriate place to send you my heart felt wishes and prayers; that you trip is safe, sound, happy and free of any unwanted incidents. I hope that you and your family have wonderful adventure! Can't wait to hear about it all!I hope you get to visit Acts2 and her family! That would be so very enjoyable for all of you...she has such a beautiful heart and is such a gracious lady! Please Insert Florida in this Lynard Skynrd song in honor of you new State. I sure hope you like Florida! I went out WOW there. I met a lot of interesting people there and had some really memorable times and made some life long friends. Since life is so much about trying to make good and loving memories; I guess it doesn't really matter where exactly that you find them; just that you do....and that my dear sister and friend is what I hope for you and your family in your new home! I hope you make great and enduring friendships there too. I was near St. Augustine. Florida is great State and I hope you love it. Although I guess that I am, and I will always be a four seasons girl...someone has to like the snow! Hey my idea of retirement will probably be Alaska If you miss any of the four seasons you're always welcome to come for the holidays...or any other old time. It's gonna be fun to make you new home homey! Enjoy this new beginning!, I Love You, (((((((((((Kathy)))))))))))), RG "Sweet Home Alabama" or Florida

B.G. Leonard attended VPW's funeral?
RainbowsGirl replied to Through the Looking Glass's topic in About The Way
B.G. Leonard being at VPW's funeral only to me speaks of B.G. Leonards charactor. He was a man of grace knowledge, wisdom and integrity; Perhaps he came out of repect for more than VPW's funeral sevices. Perhaps he recognized the profit and benefit that even his plagerized works had accomplished in many lives that had associations with TWI. At the very least, I am certain, that B.G. Leonard knew that God is the searcher of all hearts and will ultimately judge accordingly. -
Well, Ala You could never post too many of the great musical artists in my opinion. You know of so many talented and gifted artists and you have great musical knowlege and taste. I am very partial to folk and blues music. Joni Mitchell and Harry Chapan, Woodie and Arlo Guthrie, Carole King, James Taylor, Carley Simon and Norah Jone to name only a few have always strummed my heart strings and infected my thoughts! I love all gentres of music; except most rap and heavy metal.

Unfortunately, It's not a loss in my view to lose Rosie's imput. She has always had a string of self affirming contraversial agendas. Continually, she conveys these agendas as her priorities and interjects them in most threads of her commentaries. I am also unable to respect that she seems to feel justified in supporting them using her past notoriety, instead of legitimate data. They have mostly been based on promoting her personal life style choices. Her experience base as a commentator is very weak and lacks substance and supporting evidences in view of the subject matters or issues being discussed. I don't believe her to be well rounded enough to discuss issues fairly and without biases. Her manner is too abrassive, unpolished and unrefined. Quite often she is just too argumentive and agressive to accomplish any real purpose except to say in general, I am okay and you're okay...so leave me alone! This to me seems to make it crystal clear that she relentlessly will rise up with a same old, same old tirade to support her personal agendas. If that is her only real purpose; she should find another more appropriate podium. I enjoy commentators that can add their perspective to a variety of subjects and issues without interjecting their personal agendas in a dogmatic fashion. IMHO, Nothing beats an intellegent, witty, charasmatic, well arranged, full of substance, and truly informative presentation! Morning talk shows, all too often to me are usually lacking in substance for the most part. They come across as though they are providing valuable new or added quality information. Instead they use catch phrases and half truths to peak viewer interest. I think that battle has been long lost and that they are out of tune and out of sync with the world in that respect. When they finally do present their piece; it is either a rehash of well known facts or a fizzle out of: We don't really know, We can't really say, and We are just on another fishing expedition type of finish. In other words, it seems an unstated purpose of theirs is to say that we the people in general are to be treated as though we could qualify as having far inferior capacities. That the far superior media must guide us hand in hand and step by step; that we are vastly dependant on them and must stay tuned in or risk being even less informed and shallow. Well, as far as my being informed goes; I like to check out a variety of sourses. Weigh and evaluate the evidence presented based on a Godly standard or at least one that has endued the test of time.
