  1. I think TWI's attitude towards the symbol of the cross belies a fundamental attitude toward our walk with Christ in general.

In haste to "claim" the "victory" of walking on "resurrection ground" we neglected the other side of the coin. The suffering...the passion...the sacrifice that we are dailyentreated to engage - if need be - in our existential walk with our master.

I was encouraged to regard suffering, persecution, sacrifice, getting in the mud with sinners, being misunderstood, being defrauded, etc. as an evil, foreign, negative intrusion in my "victory walk".

The longer I live, the more I see that these are indeed the places that my master asks me to go. Sometimes I do, sometimes, to my chagrin, I decline.

  2. Oh, how I wish I could speak in tuttle.

Oh, how it just rolls of his lips, his throat, his tongue.

Every time I try it's just "beep, beep" and "boop,boop".....no deal.

Certainly such eloquence means tuttle has worked the second, third and fourth work of grace and commits no sins before breakfast.

    I have longed...yet doubted

    hoped...yet feared

    hungered...yet remained unsatisfied

I drove to Tulsa and even told my wife to f*** off but speaking in tuttle eludes me...should I wait in prayer?

the Iraq Wows were let down the wall in a basket under the cover of darkness and are seeking parttime employment in Turkey

  4. "Jumping the Shark" is a hot topic in this forum - and we know it mostly pertains to TV shows. But I was talking to my worship band buds at church today and I introduced the topic as it pertains to bands.

There were definitely some kick butt bands that jumped the shark at a definitive point...

Like Earth, Wind and Fire "jumped the shark" with "Boogie Wonderland"

Chicago underwent a sea change between V and VI...

Remember when Journey was a pretty funky fusion type band with Greg Rollie...enter that candy a** Steve Perry...

    Just my opinions...what are yours?

  5. Last weekend I cleaned out my bathroom drain.

The conglomeration of dirt, hair, dead skin, mouthwash, toothpaste, hairspray, mucus, cologne, and various other secretions and tissues had formed a unified funk of a substance. As I pulled it out I felt strongly repelled...yet strangely fascinated.

This is how I feel when I read Mike's posts.
