  1. I don't remember the teams, but I'm pretty sure it was "Heidi" that interrupted the game.

Unfortunately, the networks' solution now is to air a game in its entirety and then show the other shows afterwards.  So If you try to tape a show, you might only get the first half, because you tape the last 20-30 minutes of football (or, now, even basketball).  I wind up having to tape well into the news and late-night shows in order to see the earlier shows in their entirety.

  2. Interesting choice, but no.

Love Nest                                      Let's Make It Legal               O. Henry's Full House

  3. Characters in this movie include Leo Durocher, Eddie Stanky, Joe Garagiola, Branch Rickey, Pee Wee Reese, and Red Barber.

Robert Redford and Jack Nicholson were considered for the Rickey role.

The film does not explore the main character's career with the Montreal Royals, but he was hugely popular. After leading the team to the league championship, it was noted: ..."probably the only day in history that a black man ran from a white mob that had love, not lynching, on its mind."

  4. This two-season series featured Danielle Panabaker and Jeri Ryan in major roles, though neither was the star.

The actual star, James Woods, kept the show from being cancelled before it even filmed.  Known for movie roles but not a TV personality, he was appealing to the producers who wanted someone like him in the role.  The actor said it was the first TV role he thought had the depth to interest him.

The title character has three rules, to which he refers as his "Cutthroat Manifesto": * "Trial is war. Second place is death." * "Truth is relative. Pick one that works." * "In a jury trial, there are only twelve opinions that matter, and yours (speaking to his team) is not one of them."

The one-word title of the show was sort of a play on the main character's last name and his aggressiveness in the courtroom.

  5. No.  Davis wasn't in all of these.

Wait...  wasn't that "Blythe Danner" that played John Adams' wife in "1776"???

She did, but she didn't play the other roles.

Bonnie Katt                Abigail Adams               Sheriff Hildy Grainger

Marcy Singer          Christmas Snow              Leigh Lindsay

  7. Running Man is correct.  Arnold shouts his tag line to game show host Richard Dawson, who doesn't believe Arnold will survive the attackers.

Erland van Lidth (de Jeude) was an acquaintance of mine at MIT.  (He was actually more of a friend to one of my fraternity brothers, who knew him from the wrestling team.  He was also an excellent singer.)  He appeared in a few movies before his far too early death.  :cryhug_1_:
