  1. Hey, I don't get a screen thanking me for contributing. What's up with that? A couple of things: I tend to read certain posters rather than certain threads. Is there a way to set it up so you can see who wrote the most recent post on each thread? It used to give the name, but not anymore. Is it something I did? Another thing. With quotes, links, bold, italics, etc., do you use the [ or Is it the same as the other board, or do I have to learn something new? If I have to learn something new, I need a coach. This is sort of a minor point because I don't frequent the chat room, but even if I wanted to I can't. Is that a problem with my computer or with the link or what? I know others have mentioned it, but I didn't follow the threads closely enough to know what the outcome was for people who get an error message when they try to go into the chatroom.
  2. I'm very undecided about how supportive I am about an editing time limit. I'm leaning towards a time limit, but I hope it's more generous than one hour, or even a day. That's not nearly long enough for me. By the time it first hits me that I just wrote the most idiotic post imaginable, hours might pass before I can get back to my computer to undo the damage, and try to salvage what little I have left of a reputation. On the other hand, it really is annoying when posters habitually delete or radically edit posts, especially if it's one that I took seriously enough to devote my time to read and respond. This board is interactive. If people are writing only for their own benefit, maybe Paw can add a forum devoted to soliloquies for people who have something to say but don't want to risk being misunderstood. Like a place to practice journaling, but with a silent audience. Otherwise, like it or not, when we enter into a dialogue with others we do have a responsibility to the people with whom we're interacting. I think deleting posts is as much a way to control the dialogue (by being passive-aggressive) as is insisting others don't delete their posts (by being a bully). Either way innocent bystanders get crowded out. Maybe a very generous time limit will satisfy both sides.
  3. Hi chinson, I think my husband was a WOW in Baltimore the year you were there. When it was an Outreach City, right? I was living in the area at the time, but was a WOW there a few years before then. I'm at laleo12@hotmail.com if you need to reach me. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
