  1. Ok, some British song I probably should know better than I do.   (Scratch "Aerosmith" since they're not British.)     On the other extreme, I don't think it fits Pink Floyd.   Somebody prolific.  Possibly The Who.

  2. Michael Clarke Duncan         Temuera Morrison        Geoffrey Rush      Tim Robbins     Angela Bassett

-The main actor for the movie (arguably the title role)  clashed with the director, and was glad the movie performed poorly.

-The director wanted Bradley Cooper for the main actor, but he wasn't available.

An early version of the script included Pierce Brosnan making a brief appearance as Alan.

  3. "We've all become God's Madmen. All of us."

"I have crossed oceans of time to find you."

"Our ways are not your ways. And to you there shall be many strange things."

I... love you too much to condemn you."

"Absinthe is the aphrodisiac of the self. The green fairy who lives in the absinthe wants your soul. But you are safe with me."

"Blood, and the diseases of the blood such as syphilis, will concern us here. The very name "venereal diseases", the "diseases of Venus", imputes to them divine origin. They are involved in that sex problem about which the ethics and ideals of Christian civilization are concerned. In fact, civilization and syphilization have advanced together."

"My dear Jonathan has been gone almost a week and, although I was disappointed we could not marry before his departure, I am happy that he got sent on this important assignment. I am longing to hear all the news. It must be so nice to see strange countries. I wonder if we, I mean Jonathan and I, shall ever see them together..."

"I suggest you use your big Bowie knife."  "I was hoping not to get that close to him."

  4. I still haven't sat down to watch "Black Adam." I think it has a lot to do with them including Cyclone/Maxine Hunkel and the actress looking nothing like the original.

Now I wish I'd completed all the seasons of "LoT."

Let's see.    No Pierce Brosnan, so not "Dr Fate."   John Constantine would be an odd choice for "Black Adam."    The trick is, who's been in the JLA (so in "Smallville")  and also in the JSA (so in "Black Adam"), a guy, and not Dr Fate.

    Oh!

    How about "HAWKMAN"????

(If you watched "Legends of the Superheroes", the roast included an actress playing Hawkman's mother!  Oddly enough, that came to mind the other day. )

  6. "Following Wierwille’s sudden death in 1985, a series of revelations came out about him, which became a cascade of scandals. Not everyone believed it all, but Charlene did, having been earlier disabused of notions of his infallibility by a serious textual error he had made."

Out of curiosity, which serious textual error was that?  We've discussed many over the decades, I'm curious if this one's new to me.

    There's a brand new dance
But I don't know its name
    That people from bad homes
    Do again and again
    It's big and it's bland
    Full of tension and fear
    They do it over there
But we don't do it here

We are the goon squad and we're coming to town
    Beep-beep, beep-beep

Listen to me, don't listen to me
Talk to me, don't talk to me
Dance with me, don't dance with me
    No, beep-beep

    Ok.

A lot of the lyrics I won't remember, but "we are the goon squad and we're" clicks, and "talk to me, don't talk to me, dance with me, don't dance with me" also clicks.

    This is definitely David Bowie.

The song, IIRC, is called "Fashion."

IIRC, it's off "Let's Dance," but I may be wrong.

Ah of course. This was Michael Dick, who saw Moby Dick.

    Just kidding.

It was Michael Bounty  who saw Mutiny on the Bounty.

    No? Wrong Mutiny?

    Fine.

    Michael Caine.

    Correct.

"A friend of mine had invited me to his wedding. I was unable to attend, but later, he let me watch the movie that was filmed of the wedding, and d*ed if MICHAEL CAINE wasn't in it!  I mean, this guy...." (Dennis Miller)

Yes, the markee showed "THE CAINE MUTINY".  Maurice split his last name to "Michael White" but there already WAS a Michael White.  So, one walk later, he picked "Caine" as the last name.
