  1. Bang on, Rejoice!! Thanks so much! I have gotten a response from Ted now and hope to get the info I've been looking for! Yay!!! :-}
  2. The above e-mail comes back as invalid. Is it outdated or written incorrectly?
  3. Yes, and several "Ken Sudduths" came back in the search. I messaged a few Friday but none have responded yet. I may just have to go with the info I have on the music, give the credits, and hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
  4. Uf da, no search engine and not in alphabetical order! This is going to be rough! :-)
  5. Any Rochester Minnesota ex or current Wayfers. At one time, we had a great group of people there who really were tight and loved God and people. Earl and I were best buddies for several years and had a falling out that I was mostly to blame for. I'd like to see if I could repair that. Keith Gardner Atlanta, GA area
  6. I'm still trying to get in touch with Helen to see if she was the one who wrote those songs. If anyone has any contact info, I'd appreciate it. I e-mailed Ted using the above address but, I don't think he monitors it any more. Please let me know. Keith Gardner 457 Grove Park Dr Locust Grove, GA 30248 pausonne@bellsouth.net Update: the address above for Ted comes back as no good any more.
  7. Hey, Ted, if you get back on here and see this, could you contact me either here on this thread or by e-mail? I've been trying and trying to get in touch with Helen Parker Sudduth or, if she is not the correct one, find out who wrote two songs that are favorites of mine - "Reason To Be Breathing" and "Right Now." I've done some big band arrangements of them and want to be able to give proper credit to whoever wrote them plus find out who currently holds copyright so I can get the correct permissions to record them. Thanks! Keith Gardner Atlanta, GA area pausonne@bellsouth.net PS Lots of folks have given me addresses to try but they have all come back as invalid. Sooooo.......But if you have one don't hesitate to send it to me even if you think someone may have already sent it.....
  8. "Possibly moot now, but I met Cliff Adelman not quite 2 years ago. He gave me this... cliff@adelman.com - He repairs instruments now so it might be a business, but if it's still good you should be able to contact him." Well, "Sam-I-am" whoops "john-I-am" Hahaha, that address for Cliff came back as not valid any more. Thanks for the effort, though, I do appreciate it. I'll still keep looking. I have already decided to record the music for my own use and the use of the band I play in but, obviously I can't yet for any kind of commercial use. Hope to be able to contact someone soon with all the right info! God bless all of you for your thoughts and advice.
  9. Wow, thanks for the recent replies and recommendations! I'll definitely give all them a shot. I used to be on facebook months ago but....I don't know...it just got to be really superficial and I closed my page. Maybe I'll have to go back and just use it to keep up with a few folks I really miss.
  10. Thanks, "Broken Arrow," for your condolences. The thing I really have a concern with, however, is how my brother will do after working so long with TWI and being so close to retirement age. I know TWI isn't famous for its...uh...generosity.....
  11. Anyone hear of a big band gospel singer named Dave Boyer? He was big with the Billy Graham ministries during the 70s and 80s, if I recall the dates correctly. He and a big band writer and arranger named Ralph Carmichael revolutionized the medium big time but sadly, it didn't carry on much beyond them. Carmichael also wrote for such big names as Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, and others. Sandi Patti and some of her genre sort of continued it but beyond that, much of contemporary gospel went back to country style or devolved to the "praise and worship" or the current stuff that, IMHO, is mostly drivel. I play trombone and have been a professional for all my adult life, playing in the Navy Band for 21 years and in other bands around the country. I'm recently trying to get back into arranging and, hopefully, to start writing some of my own original stuff. I've been doing a ton of mental readjustment since leaving TWI 12 years ago, trying to get my heart and mind back in line with God and with Christ, using music has been a part of that and a big help. Sadly, though, as I said, so much of contemporary gospel is too maudlin or trite to me. I hope, even at my age, that I might be able to make some small contribution to the music market. Ted mentioned the 7-11 approach to music, I think that is an appropriate analysis even for contemporary gospel and, quite frankly, for most of modern popular music in general. PS If I put this in a wrong thread for the purposes of this discussion, sorry 'bout that!
  12. Well, I guess perhaps that e-mail for Ted is old and/or he no longer monitors it. Anyone have any different contacts that might help? I've tried to contact Brian Bliss at servant-leader@aol, I think was the address I was given and that got no response though it didn't come back as no good, I tried Dean Ellenwood and he didn't know how to contact her, I tried Cliff Adelman but the address I had for him was no longer good. I really want to be able to use this music and to give proper credit but, I might not be able to unless I can find out who actually wrote them and who currently holds copyright. I may have to go "official" and try to find any applicable copyright laws under these circumstances.
