  1. If I remember correctly...

    Fort Drum... 10th Mountain Division.

I was there back in 1985, I am sure that alot of things have changed since then. The winters there are very, very, very cold!!! The summer months are nice. This is a great location if you are an outdoor type of person. They had great white water rafting there years ago...

    Digi,

You have every reason to be proud of your son!! :D

  2. I am still close to my family. They were always supportive (even when they did not appove. For example being in twi and going wow).

I talk to my Mom almost every week...

I travel back to Salt Lake City for a visit every year (usually around Thanksgiving). In fack I will be going back next week.

  3. One of the things about being an adult is making choices.

The choice of persueing an education (I would suggest doing this).

The choice of how or if you choose to worship.

The choice of how to live your own life

    etc...

A tough question for young adults is: What are your goals and how do you plan on achiving these goals?

Another question could be... Is twi going to help achive these goals?

Is twi going to help fund a college education for the person who faithfully goes to all the functions etc... but not in a "leadership" position? (I don't think so)

Will twi tell you to study your class asignments or study the materials coming from twi?

It is easier to follow after your goals without the schakels of twi (IMO)...

  4. In all fairness to TWI at what other school could you get tuition, books, room and board for $300 a month in the 80s? Don't think they were making oodles of money from tuition. Granted we had to work 4 hours a day, but still $300 was dirt cheap. In 1971 I attended a class at a private college to the tune of $40 per credit. This did not include books, room, or board.

I am guessing one of the major differences between wc and attending a private college is accreditation

If we get honest... did the wc do anything that would help to get a better career or better paying job? (with the possible exception of what ever "job" experience you were getting).

And in all fairness... Some people learned job skills and were able to start there own business.

  5. How does AZ or IN for that matter get by with NOT adjusting their clocks like every state out there?

If I'm in a different time zone, how will I know if AZ is two, three or one hour different from us if they Don't change their clocks too? Wouldn't that effect the time zones?

    Puzzled!

    Jeannette

    Many years ago...

The state of Arizona via state legislation, decided that Arizonians didn't want to "spring forward" and "fall back" every year. I am happy that we don't adjust the clock here.

  6. One of the things that is done around here is...

The schools have "halloween parties", this way the kids are in a safe enviroment with parental supervision.

And, kids still go "door to door"... When I answer the door, I see an adult with the kids, and the kids travel in groups.

  7. I have never met a kid who cared about the process of making a candy bar.

It is very hipocritical for Americans to condemn slavery when we have advocates promoting the practice. Of course, the practice I am speaking of illegle immigrants.

    In reference to the article...

How is this for a quesation... Is the food on the table grown, harvested and/or processed by under paid, mis-treated illegle immigrants? Is the answer, "yes, because it's good for our economy"?

  8. At the risk of de-railing another thread...

How about listing things that we would like to see happen in the next 10 years...

    For example...

    1. Better treatment and more cures for are discovered by medical science.

    2. More people will judge a person based upon there own individuality instead of, race, color, national origin, sex or religion.

    3. Hopefully, more "full time" jobs are available that pay a "living wage" are available to Americans who want to work (instead of them have 2 or more jobs that pay a minimum wage).

    4. Children will learn to "play nice" together instead of playing alone on the computer...

  9. The more I learn about twi, I have found an underlying theme…

There was/is a conspiracy of silence. This silence was in the form of: “lest the ministry be blamed”, and the infamous “lock box” or you/they are too “spiritually immature”…

Many people (including myself) did not see or hear of many of the terrible things that had happened to some of the followers in twi.

For all the “good” that happened to some in twi, was it worth all the bad that happened to some in twi? IMO, I don’t think so.
