  1. Typically, low blood sugar affects all the brain functions at once because the brain uses so much glucose to keep running. Selective interruption of brain function is not normal.

PLEASE go see a doctor. It might be nothing, or it might be the early stages of something treatable. Nip it in the bud!

I'm not trying to alarm you, but I'd much rather be wrong on this one than lose you!

  2. Cowgirl: So was Jim Fixx, until he kacked while jogging. It's not worth taking a chance. Better to have a doctor tell you it was a false alarm than have one tying a tag on your toe.

  3. Cowgirl: Please don't take any chances. Get to a doctor and get checked out.

    What is Transient Ischemic Attack?

A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is a transient stroke that lasts only a few minutes. It occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is briefly interrupted. TIA symptoms, which usually occur suddenly, are similar to those of stroke but do not last as long. Most symptoms of a TIA disappear within an hour, although they may persist for up to 24 hours. Symptoms can include: numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body; confusion or difficulty in talking or understanding speech; trouble seeing in one or both eyes; and difficulty with walking, dizziness, or loss of balance and coordination.

  4. Jim: I misrepresented nothing. Read this very carefully, too: I never (not once, go back and check) advocated GreaseSpotters to get involved in that dispute.

I'm kind of morbidly curious as to what your straw man's impression of my voice sounds like. Odds are, it's just as off-base as your accusations.

Excellent Zix. The _I know you are but what am I_ reply.

No, Jim, it's the stop putting words in my mouth reply. Unless you give me a script, I have no idea what the little straw Zixar puppet you have in your mind is trying to tell you.
  6. You can use the CODE ubb tag to type out exactly what you want without worrying that the browser will strip it out. Like this:

    Example of the CODE Tag

    <font size=+2 color="800080"> This should be a large, medium-purple message</font>

This is the same text, without the CODE tag:

    <font size=+2 color="800080"> This should be a large, medium-purple message</font>

Prisca, when you say "... the others mean nothing to us," that better defines the cynicism I see than any "rebel spirit" you perceive within yourselves.

I concur. Apparently, however rotten TWI was to some of us, it wasn't the soul-crushing moral vacuum that chewed and spat JWO back out.

I honestly don't know why Mary Cate and Rocky are so obsessed with the contents of my underwear, but their posts as to the relationship between Pawtucket and myself border on libel.

Perhaps you have some yet unstated motive for stirring up contention between GS and JWO. If so, be honest and say it. If you can't do that, at least paraphrase the JWO posts honestly.

Jim: It's hardly my fault if you try to read your own agenda into what I post and fail.
  10. Girl From Oz: At least Doug admitted he didn't pray anymore but offered his sincere goodwill. In light of your recent posts about your lack of beliefs, your remark was disingenuous and uncalled for.

  11. GFO: Thanks for the welcome, but I only made one post, so I wouldn't have to keep answering the people questioning why I didn't answer the vile accusations made there, and I don't really see myself making any more in the near future.

advise - v. 2. to inform or notify, (although the preferred usage in this manner is that it should be restricted to the legal sense)

Not enough of a nitpick to invalidate a whole post, IMO.

Excathedra: I said you'd fit right in over there. Sorry if the short words confused you.

  12. Interesting development...

-Refiners_Fire posts a new thread ("Public Announcement") advising the JWO veterans against further involvement in what is basically an external leakover conflict. If his leadership ability holds, and curbs both Jan and Doug from further reply, then it will effectively cut ALL of their veterans out of the contention. It's hard to maintain a unilateral cease-fire, but if it happens, that will pretty much shut the doors on this one, leaving it between former GSCers only.

Well managed, RF. icon_wink.gif;)--> Hope it works out for you.

  13. Simon: What's the Internet for, if not for facilitating conclusion-jumping? icon_wink.gif;)-->

Of course you can't compare the two in degree. The point is that just because I have had something bad happen to me, it does not give me a blank check to commit antisocial behavior, regardless of the degree. Why is that so difficult to grasp?

  14. Simon: What is this speculation about our motives, then, if not your "anal-ysis"? :

    quote:
I consider Laleo to be sensible and articulate, but maybe she doesn't want to be the subject of Satori's wrath...Perhaps she lacks the time,or maybe this bit of "insensitivity" shown by Satori went over her head, through the woods and all the way to gramma's house...

I'm not surprised Zixar is numbed to Chuck's feelings...He always seemed to have trouble distinguishing the real world from the cyber world...

Listen carefully, please. The fact that Chuck's brother is dead does NOT make him a whiner or a crybaby. What makes him a despicable human being is that he uses his own brother's death to justify his vile behavior.

But you'll have to forgive me, I stubbed my favorite toe the other night, so that lets me call you a "goatf*****g t**********" and if you don't like that, you're an insensitive "goatf*****g t***b******", because it was my FAVORITE toe!

    Oh, the humanity! icon_rolleyes.gif:rolleyes:-->

  15. Girl From Oz/Jim: Do you really want me to go over there and give those disgruntled few more fodder for their tiresome rants? Doesn't JWO have enough nastiness there already without me contributing to more?

laleo: I don't exactly consider this thread to be therapeutic. It's not that I felt I needed to answer any of the childish taunts leveled at me--if I had, I would have certainly gone over there and given it to them. I didn't even bring up my involvement in it until someone else did, if you'll notice.

It's just that there is a certain educational value to watching how a typical flame war starts. If people don't want to watch, that's their choice, but there are lessons that can be learned to avoid them in the future, or at least recognize when you're being baited, manipulated, or goaded. If nothing else, at least people can now watch for the Victim Card.
