  1. I feel like I'm "piling on" here, but I wanted to express my thanks to HCW for sharing his account of what happened. As "just a twigger," we never heard anything at all about anything negative that ever happened in twi. Maybe that's just how they kept us all in line. :-) Glad to get re-acquainted with some of you. I didn't know GreaseSpot was over here after WayDale shut down. gerry (aka artios48)
  2. No, Martin isn't a name I remember. But I learned about 5 years ago that Tracy Eaton, one of the 1980 east side WOWs, is still there. And I hadn't seen him in 20+ years.

Hey.. if you are from Oregon.. do you (or did you) know Martin Erb? He was a wow with me in Midland Michigan..

  4. Oregon - a great place to be from! :-)

  5. We were in Lake Oswego, with Jan Goins (Rawlings). I don't have any special memories of twig in Portland except where Jan was involved. I loved the area though, small town feel with big city amenities. That faded over the years and it just became another big city. We stayed until I got totally fed up with the politics and chamge of work @PSU and the gradual change of the culture.

    O...

  6. Hey Gerry. I went to my first twig in 80'in Portland. We must know some of the same people. Steve Wall, Bev Miller. Look forward to some discussions. Portland's my home town.

  7. No not "mandering" just "meandering!" I won't know what I expect from this forum until I get to read more posts. Looking forward to meeting up with some old "friends."

Welcome Friend.. I hope you aren't "mandering"..

    Greetings

Greetings from Knoxville, TN! My late wife and I took the class separately in 1975, met and married in Columbia, MO, in 1978. We went WoW to Portland, OR, in 1980 and stayed there for 25 years. We were uncomfortable about the homo purge, but bailed about 1995 when they told us we had to sell our biggest investment, our house, which is providing some of our retirement funds. I decided to retire and move to Tennessee in 2007 and I plan to spend the rest of my life in this house. I participated in one of the forums several years ago as artios48. I thought the forum had closed when the moderator settled a lawsuit with twi. I recognize some of the names here from that time. I am looking forward to meeting y'all in the forums. gerry
