  1. Sounds ambiguous and very embellished. So, I guess by reason, if the Apostle Paul needed Ananias lay hands on him to get him straight, then in all of Wierwille's MOGFODAT-ness it would take at least nine great men.

These "great" men. Were they great in stature, fat, or exceptional in some other category. WTF made them great.

 Or just great because God brought them to Wierwille? :biglaugh:

They were great in stature because.... they gave him what he needed, S.I.T., as the grande finale of PIFFLE.

He, vp was greater than them because,.... he tricked them and got away with it. (At least in his telling of it.)

  2. BTW....For those who may not be familiar with the term High German, it simply refers to the geographic areas where it is commonly spoken. (high elevations) It's not superior to Low German, it's just different.

Thanks for the clarification wayc,... waysider, I didn't know that.

No doubt vp, thru lack of explanation, allowed people to think he spoke superior kraut as well.

Highlanders and lowlanders, the Scots no longer corner the market!!!

Awful thought, Don't read the following if you are squeamish:

    Weirwilly in a kilt!?!

  3. Here's the takeaway in that tidbit.......wierwille interjected that distinction of "High" German in an attempt

to cement his adeptness of languages. Why, lookey here.....the mog knows Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, High German,

    Low German, etc. etc.

Heck, the guy is a dog-whisperer EVEN. <_<

Whatever else he may or might not have known, language wise, vp would have known german. As I recall in the uncle harry book, german was the language spoken at home. That is not unusual, it happens in many immigrant homes. My grandparents on my dad's side spoke danish until they died. My dad didn't learn english until he went to school. He was raised in the Danish Lutheran Church where the sermans were given in Danish.

U.S. Immigration policy from the 1890's thru the 1920's was to send people to areas as similar as possible to their home areas. Scandinavian sea folk were sent to western Michigan along the lake, german farmers were sent to western Ohio.

  4. I going by memory but, my recollection is that he said he heard someone else speak in High German and recognized it.

You may be right, it has been a long time.

    edit:

Gee, imagine someone from western Ohio speaking in High German. What are the chances of that? <_<

    :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Yeaaah boy! I was raised 40 miles to the west of twi hq. Amish to the right of me and krauts to the left, what's a young Knockwurst to do?

You could always tell a germanic farm, they are always perfectly manicured and spotless.

  5. vpw's delusions of grandeur come up here.

He claimed to the corps that he once was in discussions with Oral Roberts

and Billy Graham to collaborate as EQUALS concerning matters of Christianity,

and then used their supposed pulling-out and changing their minds as evidence

    other Christians can't be trusted.

"I heard that on a sns tape once.

If I recollect correct (and it WAS docvic speaking),

the claim was made that he (docvic), Billy Graham,

and Oral Roberts were going to team up.

    Billy Graham would be the evangelist;

    Oral Roberts would be the *healer*;

and docvic would be the teacher -- or somethng like that.

I do remember him lumping the three of them together,

then saying it fell apart because he refused to *compromise*.

Docvic and *no compromise* in the same sentence??

    Oxymoron. "

    =======================================

I'd be surprised if either of them ever HEARD of vpw, much less interacted

with him. vpw went to hear Oral Roberts speak-but we have no guarantee

they even so much as shook hands after Roberts taught.

In vpw's claims, however, they were peers and equals.

That's probably why vpw tried to copy Oral Roberts University and

ended up with that Emporia business, and "the Way Presents"

was a copy of something Billy Graham did.

Find something legitimate that's working, then make a cheap knockoff.

    Pretty much how vpw operated.

Yeah I remember that sunday night, I'm sure I was there in a back row, it took me by suprise. (Maybe 1974.) The statements above are exactly what the ol' croc said.

Oral got caught up with his university and faded out of the picture.

Billy got caught up with celebrity, took pictures with kings, presidents, and all kinds of the rich and famous, and faded too.

vp had a habit of going off on tangents while teaching, which often found interesting. Early on he spoke of Oral and Billy in familiar terms often enough. (The ol' croc seemed to have an easy familiarity with everyone he leached off of.)

Oral was supposed to get bogged down with his university. His sons at the time were not interested in continuing Oral's ministry so Oral, getting older, felt pressured to sell his university. The buyers were some form of methodist or somebody who didn't have the same faith healing beliefs as Oral, so Oral had to backtrack and conform to their restrictions, to his downfall.

Billy Graham became his own celebrity, but to keep his rising star he had to conform to standard evangelistic dogma. A couple times I remember, vp's tangent brag about how people who had become christian at a Graham Crusade, sometimes would write back saying "What do I do now." and the Graham staff sometimes would send them back the twi address.

  6. Naming "man's best friend" Tick........really? REALLY?

Just stop and visualize this. "Ticks satisfy all of their nutritional requirements on a diet of blood,

a practice known as hematophagy. They extract the blood by cutting a hole in the host's epidermis, into which

they insert their hypostome, likely keeping the blood from clotting by excreting an anticoagulant."

What the heck was wierwille thinking?

I can't stop thinking about this part, it is possible the ol' croc ..er, doc was looking in a mirror when he named his dog. ^_^ ;)

  7. Speaking of Tick reminded me of a post from the "Hunt Close" thread, post number 46:

I knew someone who hunted with VPW on several occasions over many years and complained about how badly VPW's dogs behaved - especially Tick!

(Besides, VPW didn't really train his own dogs - he had WC to kennel them and keep them for him!)

Again, a lot of preachin' and no practice!

Another hint to the his lazy shortcut way of doing things. <_<

  8. What kind of a person names his dog "Tick?"

Is it supposed to be funny?

Is it supposed to be affectionate?

Is it supposed to be sarcastic?

Is it supposed to be anything-at-all?

What's that saying....."Give one a good name in order to live up to it."

Naming "man's best friend" Tick........really? REALLY?

    :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Shucks! You must be a city boy. ;)

    I offer you a quiz:

What do these three dogs have in common?

    Redtick Coonhound

    redtick_coonhound.jpg

    Bluetick Coonhound

    DixielandBlueticksDixieBed5.jpg

    German shorthaired pointer

    220px-Duitse_staande_korthaar_10-10-2.jpg

Did you say the spotted coat?

    Then you are a winner!!!

The mottled spots on a white coat in dogdome is called ticking.

Growing up in my rural area, not far from twi hq, Tick was a fairly common name for hunting dogs.

  9. For those who'd want to read it with less discussion,

HCW redid the account in "MyStory", with the same name

    for the new thread.

A great and terrible read. :(

About 15 years ago, I was driving the company truck full of newly painted product on state road 14, a four lane divided highway, between Ann arbor and Detroit. I was passed by a late model Chevy dually six passenger pulling one of those big long black covered trailers like landscapers like to use. Traffic was heavy and he was snaking in and out trying to get ahead. Something troubled me and I kept an eye on it.

As it got about one third mile ahead, I realized by the trailer sway that his load was off balance. Shortly after, the trailer started major sways left and right then left again, hit the dirt in the median at a 45% angle, then flipped 40 feet into air, rolled about five times (Still attached to the truck which spun with it.) and landed in a great pile of dust and paper upside down in the median.

Traffic slowed to a snails pace so the everyone could get eyes full. When I caught up, the two in the truck were out and inspecting the mess. Surprisingly they looked ok. Other than a jet trainer crash, it was the most amazing accident I ever saw.

This is not to take away from what those lead people experienced, but to show what can happen with an unbalanced load combined with driving too fast with possibly also poor quality roads added in.

My dad was born and raised on a farm back in the day when the tractors ate oats and freely aided in helping to fertilize the field you were plowing. He was a farmer at heart and should have stayed there. Living in town we would have at 1/2 an acre in gardens here and about. Also he tilled many gardens around town for extra income.

His trailer like the LEAD one, was made car parts. Dad's was from a '48 Ford rear axle, the driveshaft went to the hitch, and the body was made from 2" by 12" by 8 foot pieces of lumber.

As we approached driving age, dad trained us about using a trailer, about remembering how the trailer traveled inside our turning arc and all the things we needed to do when backing up.

There were important rules about loading a trailer to, they were:

    - Always load the trailer about 10% front heavy.

    - Do not overload the the front too heavy.

    - NEVER EVER load a trailer tail heavy.

    - Never drive over 45 miles per hour on good road, slow down on bad road.

Trailers loaded at 10% front heavy will track most perfectly behind a car, transmitting the least trailer movement to the car through the hitch.

If you put too much weight on the front it will unbalance the car, with a low rear end and the front suspension in the air, making driving unstable.

Too much weight in the back lifts the car up in the rear also making the vehicle unstable. But much more so, the rear weight bias is like a giant heavy club, it multiplies every movement, the effects of every sway, every bump, every turn, trying to throw you into a jackknife like effect. It will flip you around and have you facing mecca before you...

Will,.. read HCW's account of the actual happening of his accident. It pretty well describe's it.

45 miles per hour. Check any trailer rental firm, their trailers are plainly marked to not exceed that limit. At above 45, the chances of an accident are greatly magnified, it gets much worse very fast.

Below 45, you can usually control even a bad load, But I can dad-gummed well gurran-tee ya you will feel every, bump, bounce, jiggle and sway as your trailer tries to throw your car around every which way from Sunday.

If you get strong crosswinds with a rear weight biased trailer, an overloaded truck, (15 people at an average say of 150 pounds each comes to 2250 pounds.) and oversize tires, all stability is illusional and you have a rolling accident waiting for the right set of imbalances to come together for destruction.

If it had four wheel drive on an early 70's truck, multiply the instability factor by two.

Most non farm folk know nothing about these things I have written. Fortunately city folk don't use trailers that often.

Bad weight balance, overload, and too high a speed driving wrecked that truck in Ann Arbor, and sounds like a considerable factor in the LEAD accident to me. I hope this may help HCW in some way.

  10. i don't know how to put a value on it. a saved soul, a healed heart, a crushed person put back together again

    speaking from experience

    love you socks

    Beautiful :excl:

The second and third people I ever established in scripture were a natural born musician and his wife. He had made his own guitar by the time he was four, and had his own first Gibson gitbox by the time he was five, had his first band at twelve. When I met them he was running a club band in regional hotels and clubs.

They took the class and then he went back out on the road with his band.

One Friday night several of us went to see him play at this nearby club. During one of his breaks, he came and sat down at our table. He then told me that he felt bad, now being a christian hearted man, playing in bars seemed wrong to him, what should he do.

I pondered for a moment, and said: Look around you at the people here. They are laughing, dancing, having fun. For many of them, tonight is the only good time they have had all week. All the stresses and strains are being washed away for a while tonight, largely by your music.

The scriptures say that laughter doeth good like a medicine, another: music soothes the savage beast. In very real ways, you are blessing and healing people here tonight.

A great big smile came across his face which as far as I know, never left it.

Good music does wonderful things we will never fully know until God shows it at the throne. :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:

  11. Amen excie! :eusa_clap:

I think socks is too modest to overly toot his own horn, but I'm not. ;)

For those who don't know it, I first met Socks and his lovely lady back in the early seventies at twi headquarters, helped sponsor them through the corpse, and counted them as friends. Socks was one of the musicians seen playing onstage in the first Rock of Ages film, (1971) and was at the center of twi's musical endeavors throughout his time with the ministry.

Twi was full of talented musicians who played and sang from the love of God insired in their hearts. Beautiful music both equal and superior to anything you heard on the radio.

If he wanted, he could tell you of the ways twi used and abused them to make second rate (For them) propaganda music for twi. Even those efforts were excellent to us, the great unwashed twi masses. :D (I believe vp was afraid the musicans would have more followers than him.)

I was fortunate to have known a number of musians at the local and state levels and some corpses too. I went with them through those music competitions in the early 80's, there were many great works of the heart in them.

Again, Socks was one of them, he was in the center of it all, he knows whereof he speaks.

  12. Funny you should ask! :jump:

I was watching a Science in the Bible show on a history channel last night and one of the "tricks" they wanted to recreate was Isaiah and 400 prophets of baal with the challenge to have their God bring down fire on their altar.

After they failed all day, Isaiah had people drench his altar with water 7 times then they filled a moat around the altar with water too. Isaiah prayed, fire came down from heaven and consumed the altar, and lapped up the water in the moat.

Bad day for the prophets of baal. :biglaugh:

So the show brings on this scientist who explains that naphtha and sulpher are naturally occurring elements which were known at that time. He pours water on a pan of naphtha and it starts to bubble and steam. A thermometer reads a temp of 527 degrees. He throws sulphur on the mix and it sizzles and bursts into flame.

So they built an altar with 12 large stones, but wood on it and doused it with water. Then the scientist put some naphtha in one corner and sprinkled sulphur over the altar and the naphtha. WHe pours water on the naphtha, and within seconds, there was smoke, and within a minute, the whole altar was on fire.

Inspecting the altar afterwards, all the wood was consumed and the rocks were cracked and crumbled.

Of course they failed the fire from heaven part, and the total consumption of the altar and,.. lapping up the water in the moat part, but hey, no one is perfect.

    :yawn1::sleep1: :blink:

WAKE UP! Sorry, I know that was long, but.....

If you want to see fiery snow, all you have to do is at the next snowfall is; sprinkle some naphtha on the snow followed by a sprikle of suphur.

WARNING: don't try this anyplace that can burn, melt, crack or be altered by heat.

  13. :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Then there was vp's favorite band,... TOOKIT

    Anything that he could,

    as often as he could,

    from whomever he could,

for as much as he could.

    <_<

  14. What you live in your heart reflects on your face. After oozing so much of God's kindness, I wonder what Rosalie and Donna look like today. Haven't seen them in years. I also noticed that Roz is the only one with a formal title; does that mean the rest are serfs?

    Board of Directors

    Rev. Rosalie F. Rivenbark, Chairman

    Rev. Jean-Yves De Lisle

    Rev. Robert Mc Culloch

    Rev. John Rupp

    Rev. Greg Shaffer

"I also noticed that Roz is the only one with a formal title; does that mean the rest are serfs?"

No, it means they are temporary, have no say, and are expendable.

They are there only to meet the 501 rules for a board of trustees.

  15. Soooo ... has anyone actually looked at their website, or article(s) about kindness?

(And don't be unkind, folks. Set an example.)

Yes, I did. Taken as a christian writing by itself, it was beautiful and very well done.

But in the context, we must look at who wrote it and what they have proven to be in reality.

An article on kindness from RosyLie's way is like a hunter's feedpile in the woods.

He keeps his foodpile stocked with tasty foods which deer love so they will come back again and again. Then one day, that by now trusting deer will come back to the foodpile and a hunter with his gun.

Orrr.. to put it another way,...

    Hey, hey, hey....

Come on down to Uncle Adolf's Condominiums Inc.'s new addition in nearby lovely Auschwitz Estates.

This beautiful gated community offers the latest in compact, cozy condominium living with convenient nearby employment at Nationalist Socialist war production facilities. The triple gated walls along with patrolling armed guards insure your security from unwanted visitors.

While leisurely strolling around your new community, manicuring the lots, be sure to take in some of the lovely modern services we have included for your pleasure.

Our neo naz... er, art deco military stylish restaurant offers you all the latest in culinary/scientific genetically altered sawdust so perfectly worked by our chef staff that you dare not tell it as any different than a fine T-bone stake or lobster on the half howitzer shell.

    Ummm,.. delicious.

The Roman style bathhouse offers you a way to get together with other members of your community. At the end of a loooong workday, what a pleasure it is to go to the showers and wash away all the troubles of this world.

Out in the back, you will see the furnace room, with the latest in designs, purposely made to keep your body warm and toasty on a cold winters night.

As Uncle Adolf loves to say: "Once you come to Auschwitz Estates, you will be so happy, you'll never leave again."

  16. The GOP might want that disclaimer... all of the twi people I still talk to via Facebook are Repiblicans.

    :biglaugh:

Yes twi did promote the repiblicans almost as much as PIFFLE. On this site, during the 2000 and 2004 elections, the arguing here at

the Spot was nearly as violent as The Great War of Northern Aggression, also known by a few yankees as The Civil War.

(I was off the net for 2008)

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus,

And it would seem that twi held more than a few closet democrats, who, once they again regained control and freedom of their brain cells, came back to their party with the passion of a slave freed from their bonds.

We used to have a politics forum here but during the those last elections, circuits fried and computers were known to spontaneously combust from the furious writings of both sides. Now we don't have the politics forum.

I don't know The Spots Repubs vs Dems ratio but I imagine it pretty much reflects the national averages.

  17. It's God's kindness that encourages people to have a change of heart; therefore, we show forth kindness even in the face of ingratitude. Often the unthankful have the greatest need for kindness, and we are equipped to show them this good and gentle nature of God. Kindness can be the convincing evidence of God's love. So let's freely show His kindness!

A skim of the articles shows lots of Bible verses with descriptive words beneath, usual TWI style. No particular examples of what "kindness" might look or sound or feel like. Leader article concludes as follows: This sounds like such a wonderful thing to be doing. Except that having been on the receiving end of so much "kindness" from TWI, I'd rather be anywhere else ... like being in one of many of the churches in this city, which do know what kindness really is.

On the plus side, this Kindness section of their website does look quite well done. Beautifully whitewashed, you might say.

    :nono5: :nono5: :nono5:

    tsk, tssk,.. tsk... :wink2:

Now you as a PIFFLE grad should be able to understand this using the keys to working the word. If what you are reading doesn't feel right, you must look at it within the overall context.

Now, the overall context represented here is the way international and it's SOP's. (Standard Operating Proceedures.) So here I will give you a clarified version of the statement:

It's God's kindness that encourages people to have a change of heart; (staff & followers) therefore, we show forth kindness even in the face of ingratitude.(RosyLie & leadership, so advanced, they don't need nor do they show grace) Often the unthankful (Those evolved above such needs) have the greatest need for kindness, and we are equipped to show them this good and gentle nature of God. (Send your tithes & offerings, spare change, wedding & birthday gifts to Box 328.... ) Kindness can be the convincing evidence of God's love. (Send your tithes &....) So let's freely show His kindness!

(WE SAID!!.. SEND your tithes & offerings... ) :CUSSING:

  18. You got that $%!t right! The version they paint of him has none of his multitude of flaws and defects. He was the hardest working, most disciplined man of God since Jesus Christ.

I hear there is quite a hubbub being raised at way publications these days. For the first time in decades they will publish a new research book. It is a part of the Jesus Christ series, I heard the working title is: "Jesus Christ is not Wierwille"

     :P
