1 Corinthians 14:2

Recommended Posts

14:2For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

For no man understands...hmmm-then who is this person speaking with?

God? Yeah and perhaps this God is another person who hears spiritually what is being said-mysteries.

If it's as we were taught in the way-that God and man are communicating via spirit about 'mysteries' then what is the point.

The spirit edifyed? How would I know it?

I believe this is about people speaking to people in the spirit.

No man's understanding can catch what is being said.

The spiritual man or woman hears though. The ones with ears to hear and eyes to see.

And yes the mind I believe is quite involved and transformed, not by renewing but by edification.

God first

Beloved Cman

God loves you my dear friend

Maybe our flesh does not understand but our spirit does alone with God's spirit and Christ's spirit

or is it a step to reaching out to that which we can not see, hear, touch, smell, or tasted

thank you

with love and a holy kiss blowing your way Roy

Yes Roy, why is God thought of as being distant.

Scriptures declare different.

That peace that passes all understanding can be seen and heard and felt and lived.

Else why would it say to do it?

Beyond understanding into a whole new spirit of reality.

Interesting. How wold you define "speaking in the spirit"?

talking...tongues of men and angels comes from the tongue

just listen closely to most anyone and one can hear,

if you know what you are listening for

putting away any preconceived notions of what it is

and just letting it unfold

there is no definition, there is 'now' and what is happening within

if one can set their books down for a time and listen

it's amazing what can be learned and what the books have contributed

as well and more importantly what live people say to each other

how long must one refer to books and be under the schoolmaster

perhaps it's time to try graduating into actual real life encounters
