Tamales are traditional at christmas, but we always have them around, they freeeze really well.
The favorite at our house are green chile corn tamales. Trader Joe's carries them, but they are also sold in grocery stores around here. They are labor intensive to make, but it's a fun project if you have help.
Thanksgiving in my family is very traditional, turkey, trimmings and family. Since I've moved, my new tradition is phone calls to all my family and close friends and chicken. So for dinner tonight we had chicken, rice and mushroom gravy, brussel sprouts and plenty of conversation. :)
