  1. Howard, I'm sorry I posted a reply to someone else on your thread, I just deleted it. Again I'm sorry. I was switching between threads poorly I guess. :(-->
  2. My job requires I reprove or I call it correct people I'm responsible for. For me it has worked the best to state the issue in questionable action on and why it needs to be done this way from an informational perspective. Then I ask them if they feel if they are performing at that level. I've only once had someone try to squirm out of my request but we came to an understanding fairly quickly. Reproof to me is correction. In work it is not optional. And in this way I believe we can all be partakers in, since none are perfect. And Mr. Hammeroni when I said you would receive it well, that was what I meant. You seem workable when mentally provoked. In twi it was in your face, you don't need to know the depth of it, that's the problem don't you see, you don't see. Well okay I guess but play that back and just see if it made any sense to you mister. -->
  3. She would appear to be a chip off the ole block in you. You must be busting with pride. And rightfully so!
  4. So you found it in My Story I take it. If not: here is the thread
  5. Howard, thank you for continuing your story and for the wonderful pictures. Love your suspenders man. :P--> Recently someone taught me about the care for what I'll term as homeless. Being raised in an area of the country where the welfare and government programs encouraged dependency on others rather than personal accountability helped form an opinion. Then I was taught twi's hard edge on charity towards those not in the household. I'll not then state the obvious as to my mindset. But recently someone taught me about helping to restore a person's dignity. Like a light bulb I knew I had erred and although I still believe the system (programs) to be broken I see the person in a different light. One never encouraged, to my knowledge, especially in the latter years where we were not even to witness to someone unless they met a minimum requirement. They had to be at a certain station in life to be worthy to come to fellowship. Yeah, charity fell real short there. Thankfully it didn't fall short in all lives.
  6. That brings up a really good point, I think. When I first read your "mutual thinking" comment, my mind, although I know I read MUTUAL, my mind said, "Group Think" which we know is a term describing cult behavior. I was simply "drawn away of my own thoughs, enticed by what I was thinking. In so doing I supplanted your meaning for my own even though I know I acknowledged, mutual. I even thought as I was reading it... "mutual thinking..Hmmmmm, interesting, then went off my own way. I fully understand this, I've done the same. And I can't say I didn't confuse it some at start, I didn't go back and read me but should I have well then I would have aided in perception direction for you. Mutual thinking is when a group, each individual, on his own, of his own accord, thinks the same thing or the way others think, on their own, of their own accord. It is the similar thinking that both creates and then binds the group, and can even define the group. "Group Think" is a term. It describes how, usually ONE individual person thinks something then other people, each as individuals think what the ONE thinks BECAUSE the one thinks it, regardless of what the individual actually thinks. The individual CHANGES what they, on their own, of their own accord think; they change their thinking to what the ONE thinks. Someone here posted how some come in innocent and then become a part of a group think, what term they used I cannot recall but it sounded like that to me. And I can understand what I think they were speaking of. How they change to think the same thing as if it had always been there's. That cleaving to without due cause simply because it is not your thoughts to possess. And that is dangerous. But in defense of at least some I have also seen that happen for a short spell until the person grows and moves beyond. It is NOT the thinking that creates and binds the group, it is the ONE who creates a group of FOLLOWERS. In mutual thinking the group all moves in a similar direction together. In Group think the group moves together. The difference is that in "Group think" the group follows the ONE, the group is NOT part of the ONE the group, as one in unison, FOLLOWS the ONE. The one becomes a defacto LEADER; simply by virtue of the fact that a group follows behind. Mutual thinking involves an actual group, one group. "Group think is actually at least TWO "groups" the ONE (leader) and the GROUP (followers). Those two or more eventually grow into classes. The group collectively, not mutually (there's a difference) supports the leader class who become the "haves" and the follower class, the "have-nots." They have not because give what they have to "leadership." Group think is not limited to religious cults, although religion is among the EASIEST things in the world to "CULTify." I think we lean more toward mutual thinking in that we have or know of abuse at various levels. Accountability for their sins, yes I'll use sins, is foreign to the twi we know and speak of. Yet familiar as their breath if being told to you regarding how you have failed to be so.
  7. Howard, and therein lies the mutual thinking here. That which is most telling.
  8. Jennifer, I've no doubt you'll achieve your hearts desire. Welcome! :)--> Howard, you seem a very quick study so probably this will be unnecessary but should I be assuming incorrectly then I give you this for consideration. You stated you like distractions, as do I. But then I go a few trips around the world before I land where I started at times. Get my drift? In the distractions which abound here in the warm halls of The Spot do yourself a favor. Get to know the folks you chose to fight and love. We all have something we bring here, and you've engaged in how we define ourselves already (quick study again). I once thought I would never get along with a certain one here, I now consider him to be one of my favorite banter partners.
  9. Howard, I've learned this site can become a majority think in regards to twi. But then again if anyone enters these doors I assumed they read some of Pawtucket's "Main Page" works. So they'd be rather silly to enter thinking we cheerlead for that group. I've not experienced some of the things here spoken, and have experienced some of the things in ways you'd rather not know of. I've been told accounts by people I trust that in of itself I would hesitate in thought regarding. Then I would fit together the many other accounts I've heard that sound like a room full of people all telling the same account just from the point of the north end of the room to the south. I've never stated I threw it all out. How can you throw out God? That puts me in total contrast to a different poster here who saw nada as obtained. Do I get in his face and say you lie man, you just frigging lied to me. No I don't, or certainly hope someone nails my foot if I do. But I would tell someone that said they held no responsibility at all in any situation that they do err in their thinking. The level of delivery of that depends upon the thickness of their skull. Stay around! And if you haven't yet you can have a clue in how important this thread is by looking at the number of "Views."
  10. Howard, thank you and I stand corrected. Also I tend to agree with you in that it was his actions that probably made the accident be less than it could have. I've a very strong view on personal accountability. Guess you noticed. I've also not thrown out all I learned while in twi nearly 20 years. But I've no respect for the men and women that used God and His word in order to gain an advantage. I don't care what good may have come out of their mouths they still do not have my respect. But the goodness of God can't be trodden and that which I hold that was taught properly I cherish still.
  11. Howard a quote for my reply to you please. Howard, I agree with satori in above quote. Anything else between you is not being spoken of. I do think you have taken responsibility for your part of an incredible event. I think Kevin should take his portion as well. For the healing that is afforded when you do put that item to bed and move forward. Again I do enjoy your story. Sad as it may be at times.
  12. Howard, I've done things that today seem unwise. At the time it was what I had to work with so I did the best I could. I certainly didn't mean to judge you and Kevin. I have some "emotional memories" of being dealt with carelessly. Placed in a position where I had to squint my eyes and strain my brain and just hope like heck I had God's protection on me, because I certainly had no business allowing myself to be placed in such a "senses" stupid place to be. They set us up for that crap. Just believe God to see yourself be the victor in the situation. Well um, okay then I guess. But it sure would be nice if I could just have some of my money back and drive my own car back to the campus. How's that going to lesson my spiritual training any? Howard, it's just the whole thing with them. The incredible careless way in which they handled our lives.
  13. Yes cattle. I do not agree in the manner in which lives were transported. If not a proper way for someone of financial means to do then just simply don't do it. There were other ways to get that precious cargo to where it needed to be delivered. And have a good day.
  14. They use to do 24 hour prayer events where a specific location was assigned and there was someone leaving the room as someone was entering it. We did it at root locals while in training. But it was done in our states as well. Last for me was within the past 10 years. They were done for meetings of the board/trustees while making decisions for the ministry. I do know they were done for VP when he died, I can't recall this clearly enough but I want to say we did one for when Don fell asleep but that could be a dream. I kid not on that, sorry. We use to call in needs to be prayed for. That became too much work for HQ I guess. Oh well.
  15. It matters of course that all parties take their portion of responsibility in this tragedy. And I think Howard is obviously a man of inward critical seeking. But for the ministry to have allowed these conditions was just flat out insane! They had the finances to provide other alternatives. And as far as time goes, well it did belong to them didn't it? They ran the programs, what was an additional day or so? They loaded up the back end of that thing like they did at Gunnison when they sent the steer to market. And as far as their value on our lives, well sometimes I think they held the value of that steer higher than they did ours.
  16. I would think that one would require first hand knowledge rather than going into the cookie jar you know. --> ;)-->
