  1. Ex10, thanks so much for the comforting words. You do indeed know what we are going thru.

We keep trying to run the business like we are going to be here forever, but in the back of our minds, we hesitate to make changes etc.

I have been gone from KY since 1989. I never dreamed when I moved that I would still be living away from family.

    Thanks again Ex10.

  2. We have someone who is interested in buying our business. They have sent in a loan app and are awaiting a response from the loan company.

My desire is to move back to KY to be nearer my family. (Since my brother was killed in an accident 1 1/2 years ago, it has been on my heart and mind heavily to go back home.)

My prayer is for God's will to be done, since He is the One who knows the future, and He is the One who knows BEST for our lives.

Please pray with me for God's will to happen in our lives. Thanks.

  3. I too am sorry about Ellen's passing. I dont know them personally, but if someone will get the word to Jim, that is he needs a place to stay on his way to NY, he is welcome in our home. (Not sure if he will come thru Memphis or not...but the offer is here.)

  4. teknon, 'forever' is a long time. Folks around here for the most part dont hold things against you for very long, especially when you stay true to yourself.

I lurked for a couple of months b4 I registered and I have to say that I have 'met' some very nice people here. Their hearts are in the right place. Ones that I dont agree with, I usually dont respond to their posts.

I dont like to argue, but I will stand up if I see the 'profit' in it.

Keep your head up. You will be fine, OK?

You are welcome to start a private topic with me.

  5. teknon20, welcome to GS Cafe. It has been a rough ride for lots of people.

I never knew I had any problems with my 19 years 'in', till I started reading Waydale and then GS. Then all the fear came back to me. I realized that I was affected, though, in no way like many of the posters here.

I have read with chills down my spine about the misdeeds and downright crimes that have been committed by the men and women in charge of our lives. It hasnt changed, I dont believe. They just want you to think it is a 'gentler' Way Ministry.

You are welcome to start a private topic with me.

Please keep reading everything you can and get a clear picture of the YEARS of abuse in TWI.

You have come to the right place for answers. You wont find them in TWI. That I can say with the utmost of confidence.

Dot and Ex, of course you are right. Being vulnerable AND HOT looking did help, I would think. That made you all the more desirable in their eyes.

Thanks for your sweet words, Dot, Steve!, and Ex. I missed you all while I was away.

Steve!, you are so right. It wasnt just their outward appearance that they looked for, it was a precious young lady who might be vulnerable and OBEY the MOG's demands.

  8. Well, GS patrons, I believe Dot and Excath and the others. It was very hard at first reading these posts, and it IS very hard NOW reading these posts. I am so sorry that these loving women went thru the nightmares that they have shared with us.

I think to myself sometimes: IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME!!!!! I wasnt appealing enough to the MOG's!!! So glad that I wasnt !!!!! So glad that I never went into the WC even though I was told by many to go!!!!

Dot, check your private topics, please!!!!

My heart aches for you ladies. No matter how long it has been, it is like yesterday. And to re-live it so others will know the TRUTH has to take much courage and determination.

I applaud you for telling it like it was.

    You are in my prayers.

  9. Linda, my thoughts are as yours regarding the leadership that we all had. Some had loving, down to earth leaders, and some had leaders from hell!!!

I got out in 1994, but prior to that, I had one man who TOLD me to do something. His name is Harve Platig, and he was right on in what he told me. I obeyed and everything has turned out great in my life.

But I dated 'unbelievers' and went anywhere I wanted to go and with whom, moved to different states for MY JOB, and only once did a tc wife advise me not to move due to how that company that screwed over me before. But I moved anyway. I stayed with the company for 18 years.

But I do regret spending so much time on my 'spiritual' life and not on my career moves. But God has still blessed me above measure. (Thanks again for the hat!!!)

  10. Ginger, please accept my belated thoughts of sadness for you and your daughter. Both of you will certainly be in my prayers.

Lots of people here have been thru similar ordeals and can relate to you. Please bear your soul when you need to. We will be here to help.

  11. Roy, your thoughtfulness and kindheartedness are certainly appreciated by most of us here.

I have read most of your posts and want to say a belated welcome from a former KY girl.

Left KY in 1989 but all my family still live in Western KY.

Thanks again for sharing your life with us.

  12. Chris, I last saw Gloria over a year ago. She came to the funeral home where my brother was.

I havent seen her since, but believe that she is still in Evansville.

    See ya.

  13. Michael B. WELCOME...and thanx for posting this. We have a common thread that is for sure.

I wish you the best in all your endeavors.

We had a couple at our car wash a few days ago that flew from Washington to Minnesota to buy a Volvo convertible. Then they came thru here on their way to LA, AZ, and then back to WA.
