  1. Hi everyone!! Just thought I would pop back in to let you know me and girls are doing great. We have had a bumpy start but things are looking up now and we are getting into the swing of things. Besides that--I had to post in my purple flannel penguin pajamas!!! (This is the only forum where I am known as penguin.) Hope you all had a very happy holiday!!!

  2. I would say twi should have been responsible to teach how to purchase a home (and even a decent car) because they said it was available to get these things without going into debt. Never ONCE did I hear the "how to" of either---and they even bragged about how they were teaching how to own a home without going into debt at anniversary meeting just a couple of years ago. Most innies just shook their head yes at that one-

  3. Hi al. I have heard of her--I haven't attended any of her classes but have read at least one of her books. The book I read was Breaking Free and I found it very helpful as I was reading it around the same time I left twi.

  4. Well, they are least MENTIONING Jesus Christ.... The one thing that started to get me though was they only wanted the POWER to do what Jesus Christ did. Where is the RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ (OOPS forgot you are not even allowed to talk to him--can't have much of a relationship then can you?)

  5. I think that is one of the things I am dealing with now--the after affects of being emotionally used and abused. Since I did give myself wholly at one time, I now hesitate to do it again. (Even if it isn't to a person or organization.)

  6. Very good points Twinky!

I had noticed/thought about the anger/spiritual anger aspect of being the only "acceptable" emotion but never saw those verses and how they relate and that fits of anger is a work of the flesh.

Pretty wild how there were plenty of warnings in our Bibles if we could have seen through our twit colored glasses. It takes us allowing our brains to actually come to a conclusion on their own in order for us to see some of those very clear verses!

  7. Hi all. Just dropping by---I can definitely relate to your poem, dancing. I remember being SO afraid to finally take the steps to leave--and I had been wanting to leave for a year! It's like being up on one of the really tall diving boards. You work your way up the ladder, get to the top and then look down!

Then you are not sure if you REAALLLYY want to jump/dive after all. You can even logically conclude that everything will be ok-you know how to swim, there's a lifeguard present, and there's water in the pool--but it still doesn't eliminate the fear. But is is sure exhilarating and freeing when you finally go and do it!

  8. Well I'm a parent-but kids not old enough to answer based on that.

I can say that I started wearing contacts when I was 13 and had no problems with them. I made sure to always put them in at the bathroom sink with the drain closed. Never lost one--and if they are not disposable you normally need to replace them once a year anyway as far as RX changes.

  9. As long as twi still teaches that they are the only true household of God, they continue the lie that they are the only ones with the truth. I have many friends who will not leave twi even though they are miserable because they think twi is only place with the truth.

  10. John,

FYI WHENEVER anyone takes any medication you should always be aware of possible side effects. These can be found on line but are also should be provided by pharmacy you get the drugs from. Ask the doctor or pharmacist what symptoms to look for-be aware. You should also make sure the doctor knows all meds you are taking-including over the counter. Even more important is make sure the pharmacy/pharmacist has all the drugs you are taking (easiest if you get all meds from same pharmacy) because their computer programs have info on how drugs can affect each other and what drugs can make other medical conditions you might have worse. Pharmacists know more about the drugs-doctors know more about illness.

  11. Bliss,

Hmm maybe we are having conversations with the same innies! lol I have heard all those. I have even had innies be proud that they dont ABS anymore. I figure if you don't believe in a ministry enough to send them money--why in the world are you still associated with them?

The nothing else out there of course is a lie-I even told them that there are other places available.

I guess the innies like the corner they have allowed themselves to be backed into and think that it is normal. I know I didn't know any better either.

I keep praying for more eyes to be opened too. I am so thankful to be free!

  12. I think that twi missed it a bunch when it comes to SIT. I agree with the doctrinal teaching of it-but not how they practiced it. As the years went on, my SIT became more mechanical, a going through the motions while picturing people on my prayer list. I think SIT is really designed for praising God--speaking His wonderful works--but this didnt happen much in practical application. It became a tool that we could put on auto pilot

  13. We definitely had plenty of meddling in our relationship. I cant get into all the details now--maybe after more time has passed. What I can say is that we were told not to get married and were discouraged from doing it. Then had to "prove" ourselves worthy of getting married. We are still happily married--definitely NO thanks to twi. I still wrestle with some of the junk they said and required of us before we were married and during our first 2 years of marriage.

  14. There really was a PFAL class coordinators guide. Saw it on the WOW field. Had one up until about a year ago. Nice full size binder (it was green of course) with somewhere between 50-100 pages. I never got to use it myself since twi changed to WAP class. darn :evildenk:

  15. There was a Michelle Koclanes and a Michelle Tabor. Michelle Tabor married Jonathan Smith--they were in Ohio and Louisiana for a while, he got ordained and they ended up on staff at HQ. As far as I know they are still there--there has been at least one STS tape in the last year where he was teaching.

  16. I agree WG I had to admit that my so-called knowledge of the Bible and leadership's constant instructions had replaced Jesus Christ as my Lord when it came to my daily walk.

BTW As of less than a year ago--loy's book was still being sold in the bookstore and I never heard ANYTHING he taught refuted before I left.
