  1. This one reason I don't think it's talking about graveyard dead, waiting for some 'return'.

    In 1 Thess 4.

Rom 6:1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Col 3:3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Yeah 'appear'...can continue to appear more and more, magnifying God. Even on and off. At the Lords will, and even as we seek it, we will find. Getting all things new.

Physical Death has been defeated, so I don't think It's talking about physical death which is simply changing...again.

Thank you for the kind words Clay.

When my parents passed away these past couple years, their leaving was so sudden, "in a twinkling of an eye" - as if their spirits had been snatched out of their worn-out bodies.

Did they completely die , or were they instantaneously transported into a different world or dimension?

One second you're in this world, and at the batting of an eyelid - you and everything around you has changed.

  2. Welcome IamSteve -

I first encountered the preterist perspective several years ago through the footnotes in Weymouth's New Testament, which cited

works such as Russell's "The Parousia" and another work entitled "The Lord Has Come". I think the Preterist view has a lot going

for it, in that it may serve as a decent introduction toward considering more intensely the content of the NT writings, its prophecies, its end-time

scenarios against the backdrop of their actual, immediate historical contexts.

Which in turn can lead to "harder stuff" like "higher criticism"... :evildenk::biglaugh:

I enjoy the Preterist archive site. When coming across the preterist view in pre-internet days of old, I could not for all my efforts track down

certain works like Russell's "The Parousia" cited in Weymouth (aside from a microfich of "The Lord Has Come"). Now it's posted online, along

    with many other rare works.

  3. I recommend reading a paperback book called The Blessed Hope. Subtitle: "A biblical study of the Second Advent and the Rapture"

    It's by George Eldon Ladd

The idea of a pre-Tribulation "secret" coming, or Rapture, is a dispensationalist teaching. Quite recent. Christ coming FOR his saints and then WITH them. Doesn't hold water. Good discussion on parousia, etc.

Okay. Ask yourself then how a Marcionite living in the second century - who held that Jesus was not a representative of the Old Testament God, but believed that He originated from a new God unforeseen and unprophesied of the Hebrew scriptures - might have construed these Pauline passages in 1 Thess. 4 and 1 Cor.15:50f.

Last year, I had slapped together a brief outline considering how Marcion might have interpreted 1 Thess. 4 in context of his teaching on "two messiahs",

  4. I had the same problem a couple months back on my old dinosaur - I couldn't burn cds, getting the same missing wnaspi32.dll message.

The problem was fixed by going to "Bart's ASPI page" and downloading from Adaptec's site the latest ASPI

    drivers and installing them.

That did the trick, and I'm a caveman when it comes to computers.

  5. …It would cause the atoms to lose their electrons even though the attraction between nucleus and electrons is an octillion times the attraction of gravity. The separated parts could then be better packed in, particularly under great pressure…With the constant activity of X-rays, atom walls could not be reformed; therefore enormous densities, such as are found in the midgets, can be attained. Now, please note, at such high temperatures all matter would be in the form of gas…in a white dwarf the pressure is so great that gases become compressed to the consistency of a liquid although they may still respond to the characteristics of a gas…Although we cannot say that God will actually use these lakes of fire in fulfilling His Word, the answer to the skeptic is in the heavens where there are lakes of fire…"

    End of excerpts

    ~~

And from the Encyclopedia Britannica under White Dwarf Star

any of a class of faint stars representing the endpoint of the evolution of intermediate- and low-mass stars. White dwarf stars, so called because of the white colour of the first few that were discovered, are characterized by a low luminosity, a mass on the order of that of the Sun, and a radius comparable to that of the Earth. Because of their large mass and small dimensions, such stars are dense and compact objects with average densities approaching 1,000,000 times that of water…

I 'de always imagined the Lake of Fire existing somewhere on earth, or as a subterranean lake of molten lava.

The star lake theory seems an interesting, modern "sci-fi" take.

Do we actually know that evil spirits possess an especial fire-retardent nature , rendering them invincible

to the hottest elements found on our planet, so as to require hurling them into the belly of a distant star?

  6. If an unhealthy germ is a devil spirit because it has life of its own, are all the healthy germs that crawl in and on us every moment of the day angel spirits? If so, how come no one in TWI ever taught us about them?

I don't know, Abi. Detailed teachings covering the topic of "angels" were pitifully few by comparison to the "devil spirits" emphasized in twi.

  7. William Branham, transcribed from a teaching on the topic of Demonology in 1953:

"The doctor calls it a cancer. God calls it a devil. Look at today. They just get it... Where did the word cancer come from? It comes from the--from a Latin word which is used in medical terms, meaning "a crab." A crab that you'd see along the seashore that's got all them legs, that's the way that--that it does; it reaches out, spreads out. The word "cancer" is "crab." And it gets in and just keeps taking ahold and sucking blood as it goes, like the octopus or something. Why, a tumor, cataract, and other diseases, every one of them comes from a germ. And that germ has to be a body. And before it can be a body, it has to be a life. Before it can create or--or germitize and make more cells, it has to be a life. Is that correct? Now, where did that cancer come from? Who, where'd that come from? It wasn't on you here sometime ago, but now maybe it's on you. Where did it come from? It's another life different from your life, living in you. And it's a tormenting, sapping your life. That's the reason Jesus called it a devil."

I can imagine Wierwille listening to this guy on the radio during the 50s/early 60s. He appears to have been a huge influence upon that generation.

If I was a movie producer or documentary filmmaker, William Branham would be a fantastic subject.

  8. Among all the giants inhabiting the heavenly pantheon, I had always since my youth a special place

in my heart for "Gigantor, the Space-Age Robot", even though he wasn't invisible.

With a simple press on a remote control beaming forth oscillating waves, there he'd come,

    flying through the air.

When I think "sky giants" - I think "Gigantor".

  9. I think therapists have become the "exorcists" of the modern era - casting out legions of them pesky "Jesii" sky-giants :biglaugh:

  10. 1st Your making a pact with the Synagogue of Satan (Rev.2:9)(Rev.3:9),Which are the Zionist Bankers, who own the Federal Reserve Bank, which is not a Government Organization, but a Private Corporation.

Yeah but are these Zionist bankers any match for the Chinese?

    Welcome A.I.

  11. When you recorded the album onto the harddrive, did you continuously record each album side into 2 large wave files?

If so, it might help to edit the wave files, to break down each song into smaller wave files.

Your PC buffer memory and burning software might find a group of smaller files easier to handle.
