As someone else has posted, TWI's cult like activities pale in comparison to most.

They were sort of like the watered down, 3.2 Bud Lite of cults.

Unfortunately this stuff is all too common in many religions. Happens all the time. It is wrong every time. Religion is cruel to people.

Was Mark or John your counselor? Tell them both I said hi. I hope they or other believers at Spirit & Truth/ CES / Truth or Tradition/ Biblical Unitarian (or whatever name they are going by now) helped you. There are some good people involved.

Personally I have received a lot of counseling from some good posts here on Greasespot among other places and from awesome people like Radar.

But for my kind I fear all hope is lost. I am fine with that.

I can not see the similarities excpet for the loyalty thing. And it was not loyalty to 'the prophet"that was blatently demanded as much as loyalty to an employer. In some ways there is nothing wrong with that. I think many of the leaders during that era (many of whom now follow scary geery) forgot they were employees and were subject to being fired. That does not make it right, I'm just sayin.

Also I never heard TWI or Craig promote polygamy. If anything I think they would have condemned it.

Sorry to hear about Ted's Mom. When Ted was showing us around at your new house recently it was as if he knew the time was very short and we offered our love and support at that time. He was apparently right. I'm sure he knew her better than anyone.

She lived a long and blessed life and had a great son. Let us know if we can do anything.

Ted's Wedding Pics

I like a program called Thumbs Plus.

It allows you to batch rename digital photos.

What's really cool is it allow you to batch RESIZE digital images.

Photo maintenace is a lot of work to do manually.

Some of these programs will do tasks to huge groups of pohots at the same time. For example, resize the entire batch to 640 x 480.

Additionally it has Adobe Photoshot type photo enhancement features.

He sounds like a guy I know here in Tampa who still believes the stuff he learned in TWI and from the John Birch Society and others about the Jews. (He was in the Corps). He is a big conspiracy theorist too. I told him to seek therapy. When he speaks his twisted logic or even hints at it, we just tell him to shut up and go talk in the mirror.

He is a loser and his life is basically a failure and he has few friends.

He also requested me to sing which I did. Saturday night we attended a Kentucky Derby Party at John & Hope's neighbor's house. As my manner is, we closed the place out and had a bloody good time.

I agree with others that he is a victim of The Way's perverse morals and judgements. But I also agree he would feel better if he apologized and simply spoke out or wrote a letter, something. Hiding out only makes things worse. BEtter to deal openly. At one time he was beloved by a lot of people. Maybe he still has a good side now that he is far removed fromt he influences of TWI.

Regarding employment, I do not believe he is underemployed. That UPS place where he works is not bad. He has no other financial responsibilities other than his kids and I am sure Donna get's their needs met from her salary at TWI. I mean, he may notbe prosperous, but a full time job at the UPS warehouse with all their benefits is not so bad. And if he is still personal training at Bally's it is $15 an hour. Things could be worse. Is there money stashed overseas? Who knows. But he should have.

I certainly forgive him.

I will repeat it here..... the WORST financial advice I have ever heard anywhere came from TWI and some of its leaders on multiple occasions through many years. Thank God we had the foresight to DISOBEY leaders on several occasions. Our disobedience was correct and godly.

Best advice is do the opposite of what they say. Run away fast!
