I was wrong about the Way Believers Message Board.
They did in fact allow me to join and have allowed me to post. That's a good thing. It's the one run by young people. Maybe they are being more open and kind.
The old guy still has not allowed me in.

I tried to join both The Way Family Tables and Way Believers My Space. After hearing nothing back and my posts not showing up I wrote somethng like the following to both moderators.
One is an old guy, John Brxwm, 58 years old, a friend I have known for years here in Tampa Bay.
The other is a young person, the "future of the ministry", the hope of any positive change, a young lady probably in her teens or early 20's.
I doubt if I will ever hear anything back from either of these forums. Their problems are so very evident and so very sad.

I do not see what the problem would be. Is the ministry ever going to be open to the public in our lifetimes again? I believe it is a big mistake to remain so closed and reclusive. I do not want to be the bad guy here but I just have to say this. If you are using dial up you are being counter productive and wasting hours of your life. The timeyou save will more than pay for the extra cost.
The ONLY reason not to switch to braodband is that you are STRUGGLING to pay your bills and you simply can not afford another dime.
Find the money. Make the switch and never look back. 56k is dead.

Winfixer 2000 is malicious spyware and is extremely difficult to remove in my experience. If you have that infection you need more than the usual Spyware fighting programs to get rid of it.
Never click on pop ups that come on your screen.
And try to block spyware before it can even get to you. Use a prevention approach rather than a scanning approach. (Or both) One I like that does this is the free Spywareblaster. With all these programs you have to keep them updated.

Skyrider, good insight. Those were absurd.
Our loco leaders here (you know who) always had them at his house of course so he didn't have to travel. SHE always insisted on vlounteers for everything. It was so comical. And of course us "volunteers" had to be done an hour early. So here we are a crew of men and women setting up a few chairs in the small living room, sweeping the sidewalk, cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming. When when we finished we had to change into our suits and ties and hang around bored for an hour.
The the crew many times composed the majority of the meeting attendees! Ha!
So we sat up for ourselves, parked ourselves and made refreshments for ourselves. Once I was even joking around with another disgusted worker and we greeted ourselves at the door and shook our own hands.
It was insanity. Control freaks! What a waste of a good Sunday afternoon.

Oh, and I'll contribute a few as well:
Shields Up - test how secure your computer is
Go to Start / Run and type in MSCONFIG hit enter. Now go to the tab called Startup.
Surprise!!! All those things are starting up every time you start your computer.
No wonder you have problems!!! Maybe you should uncheck some of thos suckers. Maybe NOT.
Wanna know what they are? Where they came from? Go here and in the search window type the name of the file in question:

Awesome sites. See what I mean? All on the Internet. There are hundreds more. Easy to find. If a person REALLY wants to.
But to some this stuff is as interesting to them as Knitting would be to me.
They get very glassy eyed over it.
I can't blame them. They are probably normal.
So they can ask their friends like some of us who love this stuff to help them.
We might even do so for free for a nice cup of coffee.

As an "old timer"
we used to hear VPW decades ago say something like: "The Only reason for the existence of The Way is because the churches are not doing their jobs.!!"
Today I believe that is no longer true. Churches all over America, I believe, ARE doing their job. In my opinion I believe many of them are doing a far better job than The Way. Among other things, the Internet is a tool they are using to help them do a better job in reaching people with the Gospel.
For example, look at the site of a local church near here. Notice how easy it is to immediately contact any of the top leaders via EMAIL or PHONE.
They minister to thousands...... they are growing...there is life and joy in the lives of the participants. Not deadness and boredom.
There is no exclusivity. And they do not have a HUUUUUUGE bloated staff to accomplish the task.
In my 25 year experience with The Way, there was always an underlying criticism of all churches. Under LCM's tenure they were even considered devilish and filled with devil spirits from the top down.
Today, TWI should perhaps point the finger towards themselves instead of criticizing other works of God.
What is your view on this?

Chas, I started a thread here called "Tips and Tricks" or something like that a good while back. It has some gems. You can search for it and find it. I and others shared several things about PC's (not sure about Macs, though).
Anyway, as you may be seeing, Google has revolutioned the world in some ways IMHO. These days, if one is determined, you can find out just about anything about anything. Truly information is now at our fingertips. It is a more level palying field I think as it should be. "Tech Support" has never been easier. Forget the dreaded calls to Dell or Microsoft. The world community usually has the answers.
For example, you can find out all you would ever need to know about Spyware by research on Google. You might discover that Ad Aware is no longer the leader in the Spyware fighting battle. There are many now. I prefer using several but I do not prefer to have any of them running as a "security guard" in the background. (I want to free every bit of resource I can get.)
Another example, recently our little daughter ruined a monitor by running a magnet over the screen. I actually found a technique on Google that fixes the problem. It was written by a guy who, by trial and error, discovered it. He is not even sure why it works. It involved 2 magnets duct taped to drill. It worked like a charm!
And if a person wants to find out about a religious group and their history, for example The Way International, they might do a Google search. They will find volumes of information. Not much of it appears to be good.

56k...... Wow! It's been since about 1998 since I said goodbye to it.
You know what my first piece of advice is going to be. Remove your 56k modem and throw it away. Spend the extra bucks for Broadband.
If you are in an area that does not have broadband then move.
If you can not afford it, just repeat this phrase over and over until you find a way. "I can't afford NOT to have broadband."
I'm just kidding....really
Amazing how so much of our lives are becoming dependent on what comes across a pair of twisted copper wires.
I am sure you can find a wealth of info on Google about how to optimize your 56k experience. First thing I would try is to replace your modem with a new one. Couldn't hurt and they are so cheap. They can go bad over time.

Another thing to empty is TEMP. No one ever thinks much about this cluttered folder. But it can contain tons of junk. Before you empty it, right click on it and go to properties...to see how big it has gotten. Some people NEVER have emptied this.
Here is the path in explorer to find it. You may need to be sure you have access to see hidden files and folders and / or system files.
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Local Settings\Temp
You can find the Temporary Internet files folder right underneath it which you can also empty.
Also go to other users of this computer and do the same thing.

Is Donna dating or involved with any men since her breakup from LCM? After all, it's been 5 years. I am not aware of any.
Has Rosalie been know to have ever dated or had any relationships with ANY men in TWI? I am not aware of any.

That would be awesome! I'll make sure to get some of Ted's pot for us and wean DB off the bottle and into the Magical Mystery mode. It's much easier on the liver and nobody fights or gets arrested it seems.
Ted, at your age you will need regular exercise. I think you need to go to start going to nearby Clearwater Beach for daily walks or swims. The only distraction is all those bikinis. No wonder a certain "leader" we knew and you know spent at least one day a week there......alone....because he said he had a "skin condition" which needed a lot of sun. Ha!

Dear Craig....if you by some very slim chance happen to be reading this, maybe you are cringing when you see it too.
Having been removed for over 5 years now, maybe you are getting rid of the cult-like mentality too.
At least I hope so.
You need to do like on that funny show "My name is Earl" and make a list of wrongdoings and go back and try to rectify them. I think your list would be a lot longer than Earl's.
Socks, what were you expecting, WOW Burgers??? Be thankful for your Pizza and sit down. It was a privilege to have anything at all. Be blessed! And why weren't you up there singing and playing at that gala event? Were'nt you walking by revelation?

We can even see the color and style of our cars and the trees in our yard and our pool.

Who said anything about going on there to argue and be a stumbling block. I do not aim to make them change their minds or their beliefs. As long as they are not harming anyone why should I? They have rights too you know. You must not have read my posts. Not me. I wish them well. Maybe I would even go back and be in a fellowship under the right circumstances.
