  1. Well thank you insurgent. So far all I've been able to obtain is ExC's posted list here. :(--> Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. ?????????????
  2. Every time I go to post something, some smart chicks* have already posted what I was thinking! :D--> *used here only to be funny...not to insinuate a lesser value as a human being or demean in any way ?????????????
  3. OK, I haven't followed exactly what is happening or how it's happening in Mass. Are there any articles or other information on the web? If so, it would be nice to have a link...and if that's already been done in this thread, I'm sorry for not catching it sooner. ?????????????
  4. It also supports the difference between homosexuality and pedophilia. And that gay parents can be (and usually are) just as loving, supportive and capable of raising well-adjusted children as any other parent. ?????????????
  5. Linda, Dovey, Abi... :D--> You all are saying things I want to say....and doing soooooo much better. ******* A point I ponder sometimes... People want to say that god set things up a certain way "in the beginning" and that way hasn't changed since then. It's been said here often that god created "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Frank" (or some variant thereof) and that it was so they could go forth and multiply. OK. Logical. At first blush. But with whom did they "multiply"? The only logical answer if one relies soley upon the bible is with each other, with their children, and their children with one another. Somebody ought to get our modern day laws in alignment and harmony with the word... ?????????????
  6. Now see...here's something I can "hear" and consider. Thanks, Long Gone! Your whole post is something that I can wrap my mind around and think about. What a breath of fresh air right now. :D--> ?????????????
  7. OK...I said I would try to be read only...but I can't stop myself...sigh... Anyway, in this country the discussion of "legalizing" anything (or not) should not include religious beliefs and/or doctrines...unless, of course, the purpose is to promote one's own beliefs/doctrines...imo. ????????????? 8. Rocky, I made a big mistake in my post to you. Please forgive me. I wasn't doing anything on purpose...just not thinking at all. I'm very sorry! ?????????????
  9. TYVM, {{{{{ExC}}}}}! I've copied your post if you want to take it down. *********** TYVM, Tom (don't know if should hug a guy...lol)! I responded to your email. :D--> ?????????????
  10. OMG...this is why I didn't jump into this fracas before now... Let's see if I can answer from memory and with some sense of sanity... ******* Zix, Polygamy? Go for it. Who really cares? ******* Rocky, Actually, I think Trefor brought up the point at the very beginning. I didn't know that when I posted, but found it on one of his earliest posts. I was kinda half joking and half serious...because "happiness" is a relative term...but "the pursuit of happiness" can be specified. In this society the bonds of marriage are legal, not emotional or religious. Marriage is a legal contract that gives certain rights to each party...and certain responsibilities. (If anyone wants to argue with that, well, then they must not have ever been through a divorce.) IMO, to deny any class of consenting adults the ability to enter into such a contract is the same as denying them the ability to enter into contracts such as mortgages, car loans, business partnerships, etc. The marriage contract allows people the opportunity to build a life together much in the same way an LLP or other such business partnerships allow people to build a company together. Would anyone deny two people to build a business together just because they are gay? Would anyone deny several people to build a business together? Gawd forbid! ********* Now I think I'm going to try and go back to reading only...this thread is dangerous! ????????????? [This message was edited by CoolWaters on February 07, 2004 at 0:18.]
  11. NP jt...I didn't know until I looked just now, either...and refused to ask my 17yo son, too. LOL! OK...really, really I will stop the choo-choo...so so sorry... ?????????????
  12. Geeze, CJ....you went and told them you're with me and now look...they leave blank messages. I told you! (Just teasing jt. ;)--> ) ?????????????
  13. jt... On message boards an "avatar" is that little picture under your handle that you use as another way of identifying yourself. From www.m-w.com for "avatar": 3 a variant phase or version of a continuing basic entity I've always wondered why it was ever called an avatar, too, but now it makes a little more sense. Sorry for the choo-choo...back to regularly scheduled programming... ?????????????
  14. TYVM WG! You all are so terrific! ?????????????
  15. Well, depending upon your marital experience(s), I would think that marriage would be a "pursuit of happiness". So... To me, that implies a right to marriage. But I'm no lawyer and I don't know how or even if the Declaration of Independence has anything to do with constitutional law. ?????????????
  16. That's great, Tom! TYVM! How do you want to work this "transfer of knowledge"? LMAO! ;)--> ?????????????
  17. I had forgotten about all that! It was fun...there...but for here...well, I'm taking down the link. :D--> ?????????????
  18. That'd be too kewl, ExC! TYVM! And Mr P-Mosh...tyvm, too! ?????????????
  19. LMAO jf! I was never trusted to be mature enough to have a copy of that tape...sigh. LMAO! ?????????????
  20. I never took the AC...and I don't know anybody who has kept their material. (Oh sheesh...except...nevermind...can't talk about the debbil without calling it up...or is that magical thinking? LMAO! :D--> ) But if someone has kept that information and would be so kind as to post it...or, if concerned about legal issues, email it to me, I'd be greatly appreciative. My email is in my profile...for awhile. ?????????????
  21. I am working on a project for a magazine and would like to know if twi ever made a list of devil spirits and information about each (names, how they operate, what attracts them, etc). Was there anything like that put out by twi? In the AC or something? If so, I'd appreciate that information. Thanks! ?????????????
  22. {{{{{grasshopper}}}}} It's a normal part of working things out. Really. Dreams are exactly that: your inner mind working out things that bug you. Since dreams are your mind working on things for you, you can control your dreams. Before you go to sleep, relax. Some people go to bed with their minds all wound up and their muscles tight with stress. That's a good way to guarantee either nightmares or a sleep not deep enough to have dreams. Anyway, the point is to get your mind ready to receive your suggestions. Once in a pre-sleep relaxed state, tell yourself how you are going to resolve an issue. For example, if you have been dreaming about being yelled at by a "leader", then tell yourself how you want to respond this time. Then picture it happening and let yourself drift off to sleep with the images in your mind. You can also be aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. That's a little bit harder to do, but it's based on the same technique. Once you can do that, you can change the dream while you are dreaming. Things that help before you go to sleep are aroma therapy, chamomile tea, sleep sounds, that kind of stuff. Sweet dreams! :D--> ?????????????
  23. rascal, I have always been bugged by the Job story...to the point that I just went ape and got mad. ******* karmicdebt, Why thank you! :D--> ????????????? Edited by CoolWaters for taste. [This message was edited by CoolWaters on February 06, 2004 at 14:22.]
  24. Mandii, I hear ya, girl! It's really the epitome of self-righteousness to have all of the answers, isn't it? Worse, though, is to be around someone that thinks they have all of the answers. Remember when we used to be like that? ::shudder:: Part of what I like so much about getting older is finding out just how little I know. Each day is a new day, a new opportunity, a new chance to learn something. It's like being a kid again and each morning is christmas morning...there's always a few presents yet unopened. I've mentioned the film series "Angels in America". There is a scene where the main character is in "heaven" arguing with the principality angels. Those angels put forth to him that he should be the prophet that brings to humanity the "Tome of Immobility" as a response to the AIDS epidemic. None of the angels had been able to find an answer, so they were proposing that humanity stop and die off so that things could start all over again. So this guy (Prior is his name) argues that humanity will not stand still...that moving forward is what humanity does. Prior tells them that even with all of the sickness, all of the death, all of the pain, humans still choose life and will not be talked out of it. At one point he tells the angels, "And if He ever does show up again, sue the b*stard....He abandoned us!" It is gobbledgook of the worst kind trying to make life fit into the logic of "this life is nothing....do everything hoping for the next life". That kind of mentality is what gives people the idea that they have license in this life to be jacka$$es towards everybody. It is the mentality that keeps people impoverished and enslaved. It is the mentality that keeps people ill. Everything put aside for the "next life". Try taking that mentality to a financial institution or a doctor or a future spouse or a child...they will all see the insanity. It's one thing to hope there's more...it's quite another to live as if what is here and now is nothing. Really, when you think about it, it's the coward's way out. "This life is nothing, so I don't have to try to make it anything." And really, when you think about it, the idea that the only choices are follow and die with a hope or don't follow and die without a hope...well, that's just stupid, imo. The bottom line is that there's no way to know for sure without first leaving this life. Have you ever looked into "magical thinking"? Taken from http://www.webref.org/psychology/m/magical_thinking.htm As I recently said in a conversation about how I've learned to take back my life, "I had to let go of magical thinking. I had to replace magical thinking with actual work...and trust that if there is magic, it's on our side." To me, thinking that there's someone besides me in control of what happens in my life is the same as absolving me of all responsibility. It's the easy way out...until I find myself all alone and with nothing but a flawed satisfaction that I "really nailed the devil" to show for my life. ?????????????
