  1. Try now. I invited you gals but didn't post anything for you to see! LOL! Sorry.
  2. Paw, don't hurry on my account, either! You've got plenty to do just getting other things going. Goey, thanks for the info. I would have assumed the same thing...but I figure if it's so private that a moderator or admin shouldn't see it, then maybe it's too private for the 'net. ExC, Ginger Tea and Quasar....I invited you girls to my Private Messages, so go to the bottom of your screen and click Private Messages to see what you can see! LOL! http://www.imood.com/query.cgi?email=CoolWaters@cox.net'>
  3. Bitchin' avatar! Kewl sig, too. My sig had to disappear while I rebuild my homepages. Go to www.billnvicky.com and see what I mean...! LOL
  4. You were invited to two private topics I started, so you should be able to see only two.
  5. He's dangerous when he's off his meds! Stay away from him! The tat was a match to Brenda's...something they did to commemorate something from their childhood. Remember that Brenda is the main character in the book (on the show) "Charlotte Bright and Dark" (or whatever). Somewhere along the line me and my friends got the idea that the tats have something to do with an incestuous relationship between Billy and Brenda. Nothing ever was said out-and-out...so we are assuming from things said/done on the show. Who knows? Anyway, one of the things that led up to Billy going to the psych hospital was that during a manic phase he removed his tat with a box knife (or artist's knife? some sort of utility knife) and acted like he was going to kill Nate and Brenda with the same knife. Evidently this is all symbolic of Billy's need to discard that part of his life.
  6. ********** SFU: I do think that Claire's little breakdown may have actually helped her get into the art school. If not, I think one of the Chenowiths (or maybe all?) will come along and rescue her. Nate is driving me insane. He's such a self-centered wah baby! And what about Maya? A baby needs her father around, but that darned Nate signed his rights away. Hmmm?! I know Maya has brought Ruth a who new meaning to her life. It's about time, too...Ruth was gonna end up like David: arrested for sex in a back alley! LOL! Who here thinks Keith is gonna end up knocking the hell outta David? ********** Oz My best friend is an Oz addict. Which means that I watch out of courtesy to him...so that we have something to talk about when he's bored with SFU. LOL! It's guttural, that's for sure. There are times when I'm in the mood for and time when I'm not. ********** Sex and the City I loved it...at first. Now it's boring to me. ********** Oh hey, Hope...I just went to the jump the shark site...kewl! I like it! And I have to agree that Sex in the City has jumped the shark. *********** http://www.imood.com/query.cgi?email=CoolWaters@cox.net'>
  7. But I do know that if you go to "MySpot" and click on the "Private" tab, you can start a private thread and invite the person you are wanting to contact. That way it's just you and that person who can see that thread.
  8. (and I don't know how long I'll be allowed to link up this pic, so enjoy it quick!
  9. My absolute most favorite all time HBO series is.......drum roll here (to give it it's proper due).....Six Feet Under! We have little SFU get togethers around here. First, a bunch of folks come over on Sunday evening to watch it with us. Once the show has started, we don't answer the phone or the door and nobody is allowed to talk at all during the show. It's a ritualistic thing! Then, on Monday evening, we watch the rerun and critique the show. Of course, the rest of the week we are gossiping about Keith and David or Claire and Billy...or, OMG...Nathan and Brenda and Brenda's parents!!!!!!!!!! Uh oh...I've gotten started...now I've gotta stop....I've gotta stop....backing away from the 'puter now....
  10. From what I understand, free banner ads are more for driving traffic to your site than for earning income. I think one can earn income if one becomes a paid member. Banner ads are much better than pop ups for absolute sure! However, I have never used banners...don't like ads at all on a site...but I'm not interested in maintaining a site as heavily trafficked as GSC, either. I've also heard that banner ads slow down a board and really do not make as much money as one would think. Oh...banners track...which means cookies...which means possible spam and other undesirable stuff. So...there it is...I'm going by hearsay and personal preference. And, while I was typing this, I signed up at freebanners.com Here is the short version of how I, too, can earn money...woo hoo!: "Earn Cash automatically. Every Free-Banners member that you refer will result in your account earning $2.00 Ad-Dollars. You can then use this money to further expand on your Ad-Budget!" Next to it there is the proverbial MLM pyramid pic (or, for us extwiers, the manifestations pyramid).
  11. because my choice was not there. I'd prefer to send Paw a couple of dollars each month than to deal with ads. Paw, do you take PayPal?
  12. Just another hug for you and your son.
  13. Laleo, your points are well articulated and very good. You are right about the Private option...makes things simpler, imo, as that information never gets out to the open board...at least not what I've seen. Personally, after my last deleting frenzy, I'm not going to delete anymore...I don't think... ...and I have learned to be more sure of what I post. But I do support the right of others to do what they will with their own words. As has been pointed out, the only reflection of deleting/editing inappropriately is on the person doing so...not those responding. Good job, Laleo!
  14. Since someone brought it up... On Waydale I removed as many of my posts as the administrator would allow. Why? Because I learned that what was posted on WayDale could be used without my permission or knowledge. I was told by someone who was helping the administrator that the administrator was planning to sue twi. Feeling hoodwinked and manipulated, I pulled as many of my posts as possible. For me, time showed that I was very glad I did...I had put personal information on WayDale that I was not prepared to deal with in a court of law if needed. Geeze the bellyaching I still hear about that! The punishment for removing my posts was to be banned. Well, just before the old GSC forums rolled over to this one, another poster removed many of his posts. Nobody has said even one word about it. I think...no...I know that there are those who use these boards as a personal vendetta machine and bring things up years later...and yell and scream from the rooftops, "I got proof! I copied and pasted all the documentation!"...and do so much in the same way they did things on the elementary school playground...you know, only the unpopular kids would be subject to the "rules". Can you imagine keeping posts from years ago? Living in a quagmire of grudges, hurt feelings, personal vendettas, never allowing for personal growth for yourself or others? This is not The Odyssey or Grapes of Wrath. This is a bulletin board (UBB...get it?) fer crying out loud. How many people go to a bulletin board and expect the posts to never change, never go anywhere, always make sense with the other posts....etc? The very nature of a bulletin board is temporary notices. Now...offa my little soapbox for the day. http://www.imood.com/query.cgi?email=CoolWaters@cox.net'>
  15. Wacky, thank you for sharing that with me. It adds depth to the discussion...and reveals a little more of you than before.
  16. Garth, you made my point exactly. Ginger, I wondered exactly why this was posted on Father's Day, too. To me it felt kinda like somebody saying, "Happy Halloween" on Christmas...sorta detracts from the whole point of the celebration. I came to this thread because I thought I was going to find one of those deep and touching stories passed around emails. You know...a little boy really screwed up and ended up nearly killed...and his dad went off the wall at him and made a really stupid remark out of fear about how stupid the boy was...so, on the next Father's Day, the little boy, still stinging from that stupid remark the father probably had forgotten, gave his father an "UnParent Day" card...and then the father realized just how horrible he had been to the boy... Guess I've learned not to judge a post by its title.
  17. Stay in bed...keep the remote...wear your oldest, holiest shorts...don't shave...here, have some breakfast, coffee, the Sunday paper...we're leaving the house to you today...enjoy! We're all so very thankful for your faithfulness, your patience, your stamina, your protection, your support, your understanding, YOU! Dads are one of the two very bestest things for kids in the whole wide world! Yay Dads!
  18. Wacky, Just to let you know...I have never ever even thought, "If I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't have any." What I have thought is, "If I were to do it all over again, I would NEVER listen to 'leadership' or anyone else who didn't have any kids." Why? Because if someone doesn't live with a child day in and day, if someone hasn't invested their very breath into a child's well being, if the child is somebody else's....well, it's very, very, very, very easy to turn into the quintessential W C Fields type of person...and decide that kids are not worth the problems...and give bad advice from lack of experience....and manipulate parents with smug condescension about their lack of ability...so that parents end up trying to please the childless twig leader...or the childless branch leader...or the childless school teacher...or the childless social worker...or the childless legislator... I congratulate people who have chosen not to have children just as much as I congratulate people who have chosen not to marry or not to own a home or not to do all of the other "American Dream" things... But I do have to wonder about the truth behind the "choice" when people condescend towards those who have not made the same choice.
  19. No preview options? Hmmm. Drat! Also, when I do anything but reply, I have to go clear back to "General".
  20. I just started a private topic testing the private topics thingy. To get to my private topics, I had to click on the link at the bottom of the page in the "Open" folder. To start a private topic, I did it from MyPop and had to invite people from My Contacts. And I just did another private topic to see if I could do more than one. So I guess I could. Dunno yet...nobody's let me know if the topic came through to them.
