  1. Gee let's see...

My dear children look steadfastly at....

Stand my dear ones and be at peace...

Be strong and very courageous, for your God is...

Have no fear for I the Lord your God have...

Continue my dear ones in the truth you have learned...

Bask in the riches of the Word my little children...

You are my faithful sons, the true believers in this wicked world...

I your heavenly Father have given you...

Guess I could just keep going... but, looking at Acts 2:11 it says:

we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God

J*hn Ly_n's group we heard another 'way' of doing tongues... people were taught to emphasize the wonderful works of God...

SO... people are using their minds to change the message... makes me wonder... Pentecost didn't sound like an orderly meeting... people weren't being called on to manifest...

Something has been missed somewhere... The control in TWI is frightening~ (sort of like the Roman Catholics in Luther's time...?)

  2. It's like some sort of mental disorder... (like the severe hand washing...being afraid of germs & contamination ‘disease’)

TWI leaders & other religious leaders believe they are wanted by the devil since they have what the devil wants... the only true, rightly divided word.

These leaders think of themselves like the President (actually better)... they are suspicious someone may be out to get them... someone who might listen to the wrong god….

Guns at a meeting? So where was the devil? Working in the 'other' leaders there?

Sounds like somebody was thinking a little too highly of themselves

Maybe their own loyalty to their 'MOG' would have allowed them to kill another human being...hence their warped, suspicious thinking~

  3. Well, for all the Lurkin' Innies~

VPW & DEW had cancer and died from it. Don was traveling to Michigan for some time for treatments, being assisted by 'faithful' Branch Coordinators in Lansing...

The BC's wouldn't discuss much about it, except that no one should know~

What I find sickening is... some 'believers' will treat their body poorly, barely feeding it anything 'alive', and expect God to heal them from all sorts of things. One 'believer' we know, who's main diet for years has been cigarettes & coke (the cola)... has had black spots on his lungs & said God's healed him... CONTINUES the same diet :( He idolizes VP, and has LOTS to say about the 'word' in-between his coughing fits...

But then, there has been a RISE in taking care of yourself in TWI... eating right, running... writing all that down for your twig coordinator to check & see if you're doing all the 'stuff' that was 'recommended'... :biglaugh:

    Frightening... very frightening~

  4. Sad... but VP's son Donald had cancer too. Not sure if cancer is the 'cause of death' on the death certificate.

It was something that was hidden from the General way population, a big 'hush-hush' situation. Just think... everyone could have been praying for Don... but... for what? To get rid of the devil spirit? That's what cancer was we were taught~

I recall asking a WC fellow I knew working at HQ, why Don and some other leaders were still 'allowed' to smoke, when all WC had to quit. (I asked the question as we watched Don sneak out the back of the Auditorium for a smoking/coughing stroll...)

I got a quick, 'that's a whole other story' response... but no answer.

Must have had something to do with the 'old original leaders' NOT being able to 'enter the promised land'... EVERYTHING was related to OT scripture  Ridiculous!

  5. twi's limb leader for Alaska declared our baby to be 'a child of satan' (in February),

Gosh CoolWaters~ Your BABY???! and your Mom... just too much... :(

    unreal...

Hope 'the all good' part is lasting :)

  6. May a NOVICE chime in here?

Have two sons who seem to love playing the guitar lately. They both can figure out any song and play it with 'one string'.... do you know what I mean? (Smoke on the Water seems to be the first… although I’ve heard ‘Fur Elise’ too)

I'm thinking 'lessons' would be the best direction at this point.

Any advise as to acoustic or electric?

We have two acoustic, one is older and has a couple of nylon strings. The other was purchased new on e-Bay, and neither one seem to like that one...?

I'd LOVE for them to get involved with as much music as they’d like...well, one already is in band playing trombone... and many other instruments at home (piano, trumpet & drums)... but guitar seems to be 'in'....

    Many thanks,

    Safari~

  7. My brief encounter w/ VP was nothing compared to some ladies... I was only yelled at in public for not accepting his request to sit next to me...

It seems that there was a side to this great MOG, which most people did not see.

If everything gives off something... what was he really giving off?

Lives are at stake here~ It is important…

(I do feel bad for his children though) :(

  8. "Fantastic"?

Depends on what you drink beforehand, and how much.

    :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

Reminds me of the early Saturday Night Live Shows...

We thought they were so good... looking back at them now... umm, why did I think that was not to be missed?...

  9. how can you return to your true self when you hadn't developed that yet ?

    get what i'm saying ?

you have to discover your true self.....

    it can be hard

There it is! Nicely put excathedra.

My personal development had been stunted by my involvement in TWI.

For 21 years I developed into something TWI thought was the BEST...

I did a good job according to their standard... but there was something more to life, and I finally realized that I had been lied to for many years.

Time again to think, test, and experience life. There is so much good stuff out there!

  10. This is one of my favorites:

    Dividing Pecans

On the outskirts of town, there was a big old pecan tree by the cemetery fence. One day two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts. "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me," said one boy. Several were dropped and rolled down toward the fence.

Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me." He just knew what it was. "Oh my," he shuddered; it's Satan and the Lord dividing the souls at the cemetery. He jumped back on his bike and rode off. Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along.

"Come here quick," said the boy, "you won't believe what I heard. Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls.” The man said, "Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk." When the boy insisted, though, the man hobbled to the cemetery. Standing by the fence they heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me." The old man whispered, "Boy, you've been tellin' the truth. Let's see if we can see the devil himself."

Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything. The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of Satan.

At last they heard, "One for you, one for me. And one last one for you. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence, and we'll be done."

They say the old guy made it back to town five minutes before the boy.

  11. oh just remembering...

In Hawaii, the debut of AOS was held at the local THEATRE.

Such a Hugh build up.... Such a big let down... what in the world :o What can you say about that... weird! and embarrassing!

    Something better off quickly forgotten...

  12. Very interesting reading here.

It's been four years away for us now... We've tried some churches... but some subjects are just too irritating: the trinity being at the top of the list.

Talked personally with some that have left and do fellowship in the home... don't know if that's the ONLY thing for us anymore... so small & hardly any new faces

Have picked up our children at their school friends homes, and these people have all kinds of stuff going on... card parties, sports events, trips... seemingly endless activities... and they respect God and his Word too...

In our community, God is spoken of freely & frequently. People in general are good Christians, treating others with respect and compassion, and lending a helping hand if needed. They want to please God.

This is where TWI has been so damaging for me. It IS hard work getting OUT of this hardened wall that has been built up throughout my entire thinking process.

Being a good Christian, good works, giving physical help or finances WERE ALL BAD THINGS IN TWI LOGIC.

Since recognizing this, I make a point to get out and meet the neighbors. Give things to people. If I hear someone is sick, I'll visit with a small gift for them. Sometimes I’ll call a neighbor and ask if she’d like to take a walk with me… and neighbors do that for me too!

It's not difficult anymore. The more I give & get out there, the more ridiculous TWI logic is. BUT, sometimes the 'quick' response is still there... the answer for 'everything'... It's fading as I act like a real human being...

(I do make my bed and do the dishes & laundry daily. With a family of six, skipping something there would be MORE work later... which no one here would like to do... I love organization... but have BEFORE being in TWI... I like it so much, that I offer to help others that seem overwhelmed with their own stuff... I just like it) :redface2: some people get offended though...

  13. A comment about George Sr...

My Nephew was on a Navy ship during the first attacks on Iraq.

George Sr made a trip to the ship... Nephew, being prepared with camera in pocket for the visit, was on duty and missed the opportunity to do the 'fun' stuff...

George, ending the visit, heading toward his plane, the dot in the center of a security circle, broke out of the center, came & hugged my Nephew, who was asking if his buddy could snap a picture...security seemed irritated, George said sure, chatted a bit, then returned to the circled walk to the plane…

George & Nephew front & center... security with funny looks on their faces in the background... great picture :)

Your story IS better though Ex... a LOT more action

  14. ((((((((FreeFromCults))))))))

To me, I decided enough is enough that I took a hike, not caring if I lost contact or if I become a "greasespot by midnight"

Glad to see you here. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully your actions will inspire some lurkers to stop, think and become FREE.

  15. Gee Ex10, this sounds like MOVIE material!

You're a good story teller... my heart was pounding, the man in the suit, I felt embarrassed for not being better dressed... would that sweat please QUIT already... will that paper get turned in on time.... :o

Is your daughter smiling now about it... maybe a good one for Reader's Digest? (they pay if your story is used)

  16. After reading DMiller's post listing the ds names... I'm reminded of meetings to correct the errors in our syllabus.

It was for a new class that ol Loy re-did (name of the class escapes me at the moment)... some pages absolutely had to be handed back in, they were bad or something, new pages were given out... some things were to be 'blacked out', and the correction written above it etc...

There was even a 'letter' to believers, letting them know the importance of this meeting. Of course to continue on your 'way', you had to do this, or new classes would no longer be available...

  17. Thanks Belle for bringing this up again.

I too was raised Lutheran, my Mother being from Germany (she met and worked for Hitler though)

Our Private Lutheran School (1-8), we had a few teachers that 'others' in the Church regarded a bit too liberal in their methods.

Eighth Grade, we had mandatory DEBATES. Topics were all over the place, including RELIGION. Many kids were not from church going families... The debates for some were highly IRREVEREND. Parents would call and complain.

The teachers thought children needed to learn to think for themselves. If something is TRUE, there will be clear documentation to back it up. To stand up for something will sometimes require work, research, and being able to vocalize your opinion.

Looking back, those teachers were right on. They understood that blindly following is dangerous.

TWI should try this DEBATE method

  18. FLITHY, DISGUSTING, UNEXCUSABLE, DEVILISH, DAMAGING

    Ezra 7:26

And whosoever, will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.

    Ecclesiastes 8:11

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore, the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

The law in America is tangled up in words. More than the law, Attorneys study different cases and judgements that allowed the law to be broken.

Some Judges are preferred over others, since 'their interpretation' of the law may help the criminal escape their earned judgement.

What kind of noise do WE the people need to make to have this crime against our children be lessened?

Death? that would be fine with me. How about SEX organ REMOVED? that would be good... here’s a great one… DROPPED in the middle of the OCEAN & left!

SOMETHING that would make the criminal think "OH NO... I'm dead"... and let the rest of the world cringe and those that had entertained the 'same ideas' slam that thought away forever~
